Fard tawaaf during Hajj with menstruation

Question:

AsSalaamu Alaikum,

InshaAllah I will be going for this Hajj and my calculations show I might have my period during the days of Hajj and might not be able to perform the fard tawaaf on time. I have read it is not advisable for unmarried young women to take things to stop or delay menstruation as at my age I probably don’t have proper hormonal balance as yet (I am in my early 20’s) and I fear that it might cause problems. I am also leaving to come home early and cannot change the bookings as I am booked with a group. What other options do I have? If I do not complete this tawaaf how do I come out of Ihraam? How will my Hajj be complete?

Please keep me in your duas and may Allah accept my family and my Hajj, InshaAllah.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Dear sister you should either:

1. Make your travel plan that would allow you to perform obligatory Tawaf, or
2. take the medical means to delay your period.

The medical means in this case are permitted, but it is better to avoid them.
