Muraqaba without a tariqah

Question:

Can someone practice muraqaba without having taken a bayah into a tariqah. Who should they think of and imagine if they do not know who their shaykh is.

Answer:

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani says there is a general muraqaba that may be performed by visualizing the Ka`ba. Allah knows best.

Ring

Question:

A faqeer/malang showed me a ring that was green on the outside but when i saw through it it was red.
Happy dream

Answer:

wa alaikum salam,

A warning that some things which appear religious, pure and blessed may in fact be Dajjalic (truth appears as falsehood and vice versa), in that they contain hidden sinning, especially when related to posts of power and influence. Allah knows best.

Scientific method of the Islamic ‘Golden’ Age

Question:

To what extent did Sufis or the Fuqaha accept the scientific method of the Islamic ‘Golden’ age?

Answer:

For us the Golden Age is as spelled out in the hadith:

خيرُ النّاسِ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُم، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُم

“The best of people are my time, then those that follow them, then those that follow them.”

The rest of the hadith mentions that, after that, lying and liars will spread everywhere. So the Islamic Golden Age means the first three generations (an-Nabi (s) and the Sahaba, the Tabi`in and the Taba`a al-Tabi`in). The other definition is borrowed from the western over-veneration of material science and man-made systems of knowledge, like the term Renaissance referring to a Rebirth; of what? of Greek and Roman knowledge. As long as science and logic bow to revealed knowledge they are fine. But insofar as they divorce themselves from revealed knowledge they go against fitra and are hollow tin rather than a golden age.

72 sects and sawad azam

Question:

Asalamu alaikum. My two questions are for Sayidi Sheikh Gibril

1. Will the 72 unsaved sects be in the hellfire temporarily or forever?
2. Is the al-Sawad al-Azam referring to majority of Muslims or only majority of Sunni scholars?

Answer:

Waalaykumussalam warahmatullah,

1. Allah forgives all that is other than shirk (polytheism), so it is temporary for whatever sect did not follow something that qualifies as shirk.

2. It refers to both because the majority of Muslims follows the majority of the Sunni scholars and Allah knows best.

Question regarding an interpretation

Salam sheikh

Answer:

Audhubillahiminashaytanirajeem

BismillahirRahmanirRahim

Wa alaikum Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

In Surah Yusuf 53 Allah reveals:

image.png

And I do not acquit myself (nafsi/ego). Indeed, the soul (nafs/ego) is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”

This ayat explains that the nafs/ego/self enjoins evil except those upon whom Lordly Mercy helps.  So through studying, practicing, receiving the mercy of Allah through zikr, prayers and being with the righteous Awliya Allah in your heart, the faults of the self will be revealed to that you can turn to Allah consciously and overcome negative characteristics and embrace the good manners of the Prophet saws.  Our Beloved Muhammad (saws) is the greatest manifestation of Mercy to All Creation, his presence is Mercy, his Way is Mercy so through the mercy we can face and overcome the lower self day by day and graduate from the evil commanding ego Nafs Ammara bi su’, to the self reproaching ego Nafs Lawwamah, to the inspired soul Nafs Mulhama, the tranquil soul Nafs Mutma’inah, the content soul Nafs Radiyya, the soul receiving Divine Pleasure Nafs Mardiyya in presence of the Perfected soul –Nafs Kamilah saws.   These stations of the soul are explained through Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham’s talks on Sufilive.com our youtube Sufilive.

having a baby

Question:

Suddenly I had a baby boy though i didnt see myself giving birth to him. My mum was angry and asked me who the father is because I`m not married but a 16 yr old student. I was crying and telling her that I`ve never gone near any man. I awoke really scared.

Answer:

Dream points to relief, safety, health, freedom from debt and good things. Also, in dream, giving birth to a boy means giving birth to a girl and vice-versa.
