Weekly Zikr Timetable

Question:

Assalam o alay kum Ya Sayyadi Sheikh Nazim(q),

May allah grant you good health and long life.

I would like to know the time table for nafil acts specifically for ZIKR only:

ex:
1. Monday: Recite Ya ALLAH 100000x, darood 1000x
2. Tuesday: Recite Ya Rahman 100000x, darood 1000x

Has our sufi shaykhs made any such notes so that we can benefit out of that.

Regards,

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Yes, you may read all about the benefits of the Naqshbandi form of personal Dhikr in the Guidebook of Daily Practices.  In particular, the daily recitation of Dala’il al-Khayrat varies with each day of the week Also see Realities of the Awrad.

Hadith in Dalaa’il al-Nubuwwah

Question:

as-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear Shaykh Gibril,

I hope you and your family are well by the Grace of Allah ta`ala.

With Rabi` al-Awwal fast approaching, I was reading up on some narrations concerning the blessed birth of the Prophet (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam). I came across the this narration which I kindly wish to ask you concerning the grading of its chain.
I patiently look forward to your reply.

jazakumullahu khayran.

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,

May Allah bless you and yours always.

“When Allah Almighty created Adam He let Adam select his offspring. Adam began to see their merits and precedence over one another. Then he saw me, a dazzling light beneath all of them. He said: ‘O my Lord, who is this?’ Allah replied: ‘This is your son Ahmad–upon him blessings and peace; he is the first and the last and he is the first intercessor.'”

Narrated by al-Bayhaqi’s Dala’il al-Nubuwwa (5:483) and with a shorter chain in Hadith al-Sarraj (3:236 §2628), an earlier book. This is a beautiful hadith with an apparently fair chain.

The rest of Sarraj’s narrators are truthful or trustworthy including Mubarak b. Fudala, whom Yahya and al-Nasa’i critiqued but al-Bazzar, Abu Dawud, al-`Ijli, al-Haythami and Ibn Hajar deemed him truthful, even thabt–which is the top of trustworthiness–according to Abu Dawud when he says haddathana as in this particular hadith.

Thank you for sending me this hadith.

Hazrat Ashraf Jahangir Semnani (RA)

Question:

There was a Saint Called Hazrat Ashraf Jahangir Semnani (RA), Born into royalty in Semnan Iran, Descendant of the Prophet SAW, settled in India, they became a Beloved of Allah and a Gawth of their time as well as being one of the best Saints of all time and leaving behind the Chisti Ashrafi Tariqa, as part of their Journey they met Hazrat Shah Bahuddin Naqshband (RA) in person, do you have any details when these 2 great saints met

Answer:

Thank you for the valuable opportunity to remember the saints of history, and who yet live, even if we perceive not. Although it is customary to include Hazrat Ashraf Jahangir Semnani – may Allah sanctify his secret – in the great stream of spirituality known as the Chisti Order of India, the unique spirituality of this saint is suggested by your observation that his legacy bears the special designation of Ashrafi. Perhaps his special rank is related to the subject of your inquiry.

As you indicate, Semnani was born into royalty under the Il-Khans of Persia. These Mongol overlords had been Buddhist before their acceptance of Islam. Since Sayyid Ashraf Jehangir abandoned his birthright in order to follow the Sufi path, it is interesting to recall that a similar choice was made long before by the historical Buddha. Be that as it may, the young man made the choice to be the disciple of the great Kubrawi Sufi `Ala ad-Dawla Semnani, while another important dimension in his spiritual upbringing was his subsequent attachment to `Abdur-Razzaq Kashani, the renowned expositor of the Shaykh al-Akbar’s teachings – may Allah sancify all their secrets!

With the passing of Kashani, Semnani was found journeying over many lands, and another indication of his Kubrawi affiliation is that his travelling companion during this period was the very great saint of the Kubrawi Order, Mir Sayyid `Ali Hamadani. Travelling through India, Semnani was asked to lead the funeral prayer for the great Ferdowsi shaykh Sharafuddin Yahya Maneri; here again may be an indication of Semnani’s Kubrawi authority, given that Ferdowsi is but an Indian designation for the Kubrawi Order. It was during these travels, and before he settled in India, that the young Semnani sought out the association of Khwaja Bahauddin Shah Naqshband, and also kept company with other Naqshbandi masters, among them Khwaja Muhammad Parsa – may Allah sanctify all their secrets.

Amidst these historical remembrances, other subjects of considerable interest should not be overlooked. For example, the contemporary arrival of Mir Sayyid `Ali Hamadani in Kashmir deserves attention, as does the effect of this “Second `Ali” on the Uwaysi spirituality of the Rishis. The legacy of the Kubrawi-Hamadani Order in Kashmir became an inheritance of the Naqshbandi Order in India, and was in fact transferred into the Naqshbandi-Khalidi era. Another related subject worth considering is the system of lata’if that distinguishes the Indian Naqshbandiyyah, given that comparable teachings may be found in the writings of `Ala ad-Dawla Semnani and Khwaja Muhammad Parsa alike – may Allah sanctify all their secrets.

These subjects, however, are not directly relevant to your inquiry. For now, it may at least be offered that the influence of the Kubrawi and Naqshbandi masters may be discovered beyond their orders, and that the relationship between these orders is a special one; that Sayyid Ashraf Jahangir Semnani came to the Khwajagan as a spiritual seeker; and that the Ghawth in this period was the Ghawth al-Khaliqah Shah Naqshband Muhammad al-Uwaysi al-Bukhari alone.

Equation of a Circle

Question:

The Circle Formula:

(X-H)2 + (Y-K)2=r2
(H,K) are the x,y coordinates of the center of the circle.

We can see the deeper meaning of HK (Shaykh Hisham’s initials) as wherever he travels, he represents the center of our circles of zikr always guiding us in the ways of MSN and the Golden Chain.

Teaching us to spend time and prayer and giving alms,
No ones words are more beautiful than Shaykh Hisham’s,
The radius points to the center of the circle (H,K),
If we follow him and footsteps of saints, we will be okay,
Taking from holy notes of the Masters of the Golden Chain,
For sure, upon his listeners showers of Mercy will rain,
Prayers for all of us is what we ask him to say,
And insh ‘ Allah, we find our lives blessed and happy every day.

Wishing you many blessings and happiness on your birthday Maulana!

Prayer Request: Not Satisfied

Request:

As Salam Aleikum.

I ask for advice, I feel ashamed of what I’m doing. It’s hard for me to keep adab. And to be more respectful and appreciative. I can hardly hold my job, afraid to lose my job. Sometimes I think about walking out of the mountains and solitude. And I have wanted to travel to another country. I apologize if I do not behave quite right. Is there anything I can do that is not doing? I have to do? We wait for you in Mendoza! Astagfiullah, Shukra. Salam Aleikum!

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you to be uplifted more and more, especially during this holy and blessed month of Rabi` al-Awwal. Do what comes to your heart strongly and consistently. Recite alhamdulillah wa ‘sh-shukru lillah 100x thanking Allah for all your blessings, daily.

Dream: My Father, Sheet

Dream:

I saw my father (late) in my dream. we were sleeping on the roof in different beds in the open. I was looking at him and he looked dead to me but then he gets up and spread his sheet on me while i am asleep to save me from cold, with this i woke up from my dream. I don’t remember the timing of the dream but i dreamed on Wednesday.

Interpretation:

The roof signifies a person of nobility, sheet is honor and the dream shows that although helpless or heedless (asleep) you are under a fatherly protection, which we believe to be Sultan al-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, Allah sanctify his soul, who carries his murids even if they are unaware of it.
