Seeking knowledge

Question:

AssalamuAlaikum,

I’ve been searching in New York for an authentic scholar who can teach me Hanafi fiqh and also the hadith books especially the 6 hadith books. I don’t have time to sign up for a full time Islamic school, and also they aren’t much around here except the darul ulooms. I want to do the traditional teaching style with halaqas with a sheikh teaching his students before and after salah times like the old days. Can you direct me towards someone whom you might know like this, at the moment I take classes at Qibla.com and such but I wish to study live with a scholar.

Thank you.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Contact the students of Shaykh Muhammad Emin Er in New York.

Prayer Request: Losing iman and good character

Request:

As-salam-alaikum ya Sayadi,

I’m depressed because I misbehaved with teacher…I was impressed by his character and misbehaved with my parents from that day my heart is so heavy when I offer prayer and I’m  becoming weak spiritually. Day by day my interest in namaz becomes less and feel I that I’m losing my iman. Please pray for me.

Response:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Wa alaikum Salaam,

Know that despairing of Allah’s mercy is forbidden. Use the feeling of guilt to correct your behavior and relationship with your parents.  Instead of letting guilt drown you move forward with good action that waives the bad with confidence in Allah’s mercy.

Wallahu Alam,

Kamau Ayubbi

Confused

Question:

Assalamualaykum!

I married a Christian. We have two sons. We’re married in both Muslim and Christian rites, my intention that will be better in our both parents will in peace and harmony. We’re living with different faiths. We’re living in their land, a village, and she teaches there. I’m a police and I’m assigned far. Sometimes I can’t go home. We always argue at this time, mostly about belief. They are so ignorant about Islam. Their grandparents had a bad impression with Muslims. I’m worried with my sons. I worried if I can’t up-bring them with Islam. And I worried is if I die early.I intend to show them how good Muslims are.

I can no longer take their doings and their attitudes. Will I get divorce with her? Will I leave the place? What if my will not go with me if I leave? If I divorce her, what should I do with my two sons?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

You cannot remain long together with different faiths. Marrying a non-Muslim means she will eventually follow you but it is you who followed her. You married a Christian teacher and moved to her own village and property where they are neck-deep in false notions about Islam so it is no wonder you have problems guiding the family. For your own sake and that of your children you need to move from that place as soon as possible. Find a good job elsewhere so that your wife will be motivated to move with you, with promises of a  better life in sha Allah. If she refuses to move then leave her to what she chooses and move on. It might take a while but in the meantime do your best to guide her and others.

Prayer Request: Evil tighten my left body spirit

Request:

1) Strong waswas. 2) Spiritual contraction on left side by evil.

This has troubling me for 1 year and recently I found out that negative energy is in my house I wear a taweez given by a city shaykh and I even had a wazifa given to me. I did bayat with Mawlana 4 months ago but left reading daily awraad, Quran & wazifa for 2 months. Sometimes I feel really strong to combat it other times really depressed. My head gets so full of questions, doubts, and worries that I get series of headaches. Due to this I’m (student) facing mental problems. I have awful nightmares and whispering through me even when I’m asleep. I have been praying very continuously. Peer advised me to stop doing those wazifa that I do before bayat without permission, rabita, because it will include evil. So much that it has tightened my left side spiritually. Forgive me for bad adab.

Response:

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.

Do your baya` again online with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, and do it every day.  That evil cannot resist the power of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim.

Dream: Thick braid in a pretty ribbon

Dream:

In real life my hair is not as long, thick or pretty. In my dream I saw my hair in a thick, black braid. It was a weighty braid supported in a strong, old fashioned cotton fabric cut into a long ribbon which had a delightful floral pattern, was unstitched yet managed to look chic.

Jazaka Allahu khayran.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

This dream can mean that you are going to benefit big time from a daughter or a son, or
a sister or a close friend.

And Allah (swt) knows best.

Photos of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam)?

Question:

Dear Shaykh Hisham,

Assalamu alaykum. Please can you answer this question:

I am a murid of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and some years ago another murid gave a photo to me and said that it was a photo of the Prophet (saw) when the Prophet (saw) was a boy which had been taken based on a sketch by Bahira the monk.

Later I became friends with a Western revert professor of Islam who said that this was a well-known photograph and was not of the Prophet (saw). I came home confused and Googled and found the picture which our murid friend had given us!

Please can you tell me if my fellow murid was correct or the professor?

Jazakallah.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

A picture cannot be taken of the Prophet (s), as he is subtle, created from light, without a shadow, so we don’t agree on that.

My husband is homosexual

Question:

I got married in 2011, and a few months after I found my husband is a couple, with a man. I realized that they were/are together more than five years, he never told me what he is an homosexual. He just married to have babies with me and for his family and friends to be happy, but he’s never liked me. He prefers to “do love” with men, even he prays and did hajj. He recognizes as I show him the evidences, the proofs, the emails, the letter which show he is gay. He says he felt gay since he was a kid, teenager, and has always had a gay partner. I feel cheated, deceived.

Alhamdulillah the doctors say to him it is improbable to have kids, as his sperm is not working well. I can’t still be married to him, I want to get the divorce, but he doesn’t want it.

Answer:

Your husband has admitted lying to you and using you as a superficial cover for his other life. He has confirmed giving you ample grounds to obtain divorce. It is up to you to take action by leaving him.
