History of Baha’i Faith

Question:

What is the Baha’i Faith to the Naqshbandi Sufis? It came from the Naqshbandi Sufis?

Answer:

The Bahai Faith is not part of Islam. It was created by a group in Iran who claimed their leader is a prophet after Sayyidina Muhammad (s). This is an invalid belief in the creed of Islam, which all Naqshbandis follow, for Naqshbandi belief is that Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is the Seal of Messengers, meaning the last and final in the succession of prophets and messengers since Sayyidina Adam (as), after whom there is no other prophet or messenger.

You are likely confusing the name of the founder of the Naqshbandi Tariqah, Shah Bahauddin Naqshband with the founder of the Bahai Faith. Next time you have such a question, try a basic encyclopedia first.

The Golden Chain

Question:

Assalamualykum Wa Rahmatullah,

Please help me understand the shajrah of the Naqshbandiyyatul Aliyya when the secret passes from Salman al-Farisi (r). (passed away in 33 A.H. during the reign of `Uthman) to Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr (q).

Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr states:
When Qasim (r) passed away the year was 108 (or 109) AH/726 CE, and he was seventy years old. He passed the secret of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain to his successor, his grandson, Imam Jafar as-Sadiq .

Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr (r) was born then in 38 AH. So there now is a gap of five years after the passing of Syedna Salman Al Farsi (r) and the birth of Mawlana Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr. Is there a misprint in the dates? Or is it something else that I need to understand.

Thank you for your efforts.

Answer:

Wa `alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

It is important to study history; more especially, it is important to study history in the light of spirituality, and to learn something of the lives of the prophets and saints, peace be upon them all. However, be careful not to subject spiritual matters to the mundane constraints of history. The understanding of the lesser does not encompass the greater. What can historians make of the Night Journey and Ascension, for example, when the bed of the Holy Prophet was still warm upon his return through the celestial spheres, peace and blessings be upon him?

Of course, the history of the Last Prophet and his community has been fully and very carefully recorded, in accordance with Divinely Wisdom. So while the history of his political successors may be examined, the Golden Chain belongs to another reality entirely. We have not learned of the transmissions within that chain from ordinary sources. With the luminous links in the silsilah revealed, we must accept the order of succession regardless of historical conditions. The lesson of Uwaysi transmission is an obvious reminder of this.

Concerning Sayyidina Salman al-Farsi (r) in particular – may Allah be pleased with him – and assuming that the dates you are considering are correct, it is perhaps instructive to consider something which your source does not mention: his longevity. The lifespan of Sayyidina Salman has been variously given as 200, 300, 350, and even 553 years! In the light of a life so extraordinary, do not doubt that his spiritual secret could reach his inheritor, no matter the worldly circumstances.

Dream: Mawlana in dream

Dream:

Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
AS-Salamu Alaykum,

It’s after Asr prayer and Mawlana is going on their normal drive. I’m in the car with them in the seat behind them. We go for the drive and we come back outside their house at Maghrib time, I get out the car to open the door for them. I held their hand and I were supporting them to walk (I think they had their arm around me). They allowed me to walk them into their house. We went into their house and it looked like a palace. I took them up the stairs and it were only them and me. I took them to the sofa to lie down and got a blanket for them and tucked them in and they smiled and I told them I like to sleep like that myself, then I kissed their holy head. Mawlana was very happy.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa `alaykum As Salaam,

This dream can mean that you are going to show the Shaykh that you have the capacity to carry the Naqshbandi daily zikr and work out. The Shaykh is very happy with you,  Masha’Allah.

And Allah (awj) knows best.

Dream: Istikharah Answer

Dream:

Assalamu Alaikum,

A man asked me permission to go to my parents and propose for me. We have never gone out or done anything wrong. I wasn’t sure so he suggested I make istikharah. I did and I had this dream:

I was sitting on a beach which was deserted. There was a little boy whom I think was my son. The boys father (who is also the man who asked permission) came to take the child. The child was clinging to me and didn’t want the man. I had my arm around the child and I as also afraid and held onto the child so the father couldn’t take him. What does this mean?
May Allah reward you well for all your help, InshaAllah.

Dream: Golden Goblet

Dream:

Salam alaykum,

I had a dream where I was in a large mall, there were two beautiful and rich women and a golden goblet. I think I looked at one of the women and thought she was the wife of the king of Jordan (not entirely sure about this). The goblet was worth a million pounds, the first woman held it and looked at the goblet, then the second lady held and inspected it, then it was passed onto me and I thought to myself a million for this is a lot of money. Not sure if I put it down.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa `alaykum As Salaam,

This dream can mean that you may meet a girl (goblet) from a rich background or a noble family. Make istikhara if you’d like to marry her.

And Allah (awj) knows best.

Dream: Istikhara

Dream:

My father is suffering from black magic (Massan & some others). We are getting him cured from a Christian. I did istikhara about that person whether he would be able to get my father cured from the black magic. I saw my aunt and uncle (husband and wife) in the dream. Aunt is alive but uncle is dead. My aunt gives a cheque to my uncle to encash it from the bank. In next moment uncle gives cash to my aunt. She got surprise and enquired from him how did you encash it so quickly whereas you never went outside. Uncle replied I encash cheque from my own, you use it and I will encash the cheque from bank later on. Kindly provide dream interpretation whether he would be able to get cured my father from black magic.

Interpretation:

You will end up spending lot of money for nothing. Use instead Grandshaykh`Abdullah’s prescription for black magic.

Dream: My brother’s marriage

Dream:

Asalaamu ‘Alaikum,

My older brother who is talking to a girl who he is considering for marriage. I do not know her personally but recently I had a dream that she had a dark past and a bad reputation. Basically in my dream she was someone who was physically active with many people and she was trying to hide this from my brother. What does this mean?

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa `alaykum as Salaam,

This dream can mean that you have fear of losing your brother to a loose woman. If she is hiding her dark past, maybe she wants to change and repent from her sins. Tell your brother to make Istikhara salat before making this big decision.

And Allah knows best.
