Is it necessary to follow a Sufi saint or a tarikat for the one who loves the path of Sufism? Will you please tell me more about  tarikat and the tarikats which are now having a living shaykh to follow?

Cheddar cheese

Question:

As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu,

Shaikh Gibril, Are all cheese halal regardless of ingredients? I’ve received some emails several years ago about how cheddar cheese in the USA contains pork products (enzymes) and it’s not halal. Can you please give a detailed answer regarding this subject? JazakAllahu Khair.

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,

Like lard in soap, the rennet used in cheese is processed and is no longer pork, and cheese by definition is a dairy product. To task people to look into it with a lab microscope makes life difficult for them and borders on waswasa. Nevertheless, for peace of mind, if a halal brand is not available one can use Kosher cheeses or those produced with vegetable or microbial enzymes, which is more and more widespread nowadays.

Dream: Had 3 baby sons

Dream:

Asalaam alaikum,

I had a dream that I had 3 newborn baby sons. In the dream I felt very emotionally attached to the sons. In the dream I was standing in between 2 white cars and all of my family and friends were standing and looking at me waiting for an answer as to who the mother of the children is. After I woke up I felt very sad and wanted to be with the babies but they are not real. The sons did not all look the same.

Please ask Maulana Shaykh Hisham to do dua for me and increase my iman and strength. Ameen. May Allah bless all eshaykh staff and give them the key to paradise.

Jazak Allah khairan. Ws

This dream could mean that you have 3 projects that you are working on. Take one at a time, before taking the other, start with the most important.

And Allah(awj) knows best.

Prayer Request: Love

Request:

Please pray for me and the woman I love. We are under the influence of black magic. She isolated herself away from me. She has a lot of negative influence around her also to prevent her from going on this trip with those negative people around her. And not to have intercourse with anyone.

Response:

Take both bayaa with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and refer to the opening
warnings in Mawlana Shaykh Hisham’s talk on 10 October, 2012 in Kuala
Lumpur.

Dream: Quran recitation

Dream:

Asalaamualaikum,

I had a dream that there was a man. I think I was going to marry him, but we weren’t married yet, and he took me upstairs to his apartment and we sat down. He started reading Quran. Whilst he was reciting, he started crying. Then we went somewhere else and we climbed up a ladder to get to another place, and when he reached the top, I started climbing. As I started climbing, the ladder started shaking so he held my hands so I could reach the top. After we went to an open building with lots of pigeons. The sun was bright and it was late afternoon. I think I was married to him by that time but there was also another woman who came, I think she might have wanted to be his wife.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh,

It shows you reached a turning point in your spiritual life. Feeling you were getting married to this man means that you need to take the hand of a perfect Murshid who will teach you the secrets and inner meaning of the Holy Qur’an.

This perfected shaykh will guide you to climb the spiritual ladder to reach the Holy presence of Prophet ṣall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam that was represented by the Sun in your dream. Pigeons represent the assembly of Awliya’ullah.

And Allah knows best.

Dream: About Mother

Dream:

Salam Sheikh,

I have recently had a dream where I give my mother my phone to speak to the guy that I like. I fall asleep near her feet. After an hour or so the phone is cut off and my mum is really happy. She says to me that you were considering other guys but this guy is from our own.

I am then standing upstairs and my wants to pass by but there are two bowls of bananas and 1 bowl of green grapes.

Please explain to me what this dream means.

Jazakhallah

Dream: Someone important to me naked

Dream:

Bismillah
Alsalamualeykum,

My sister dreamt that my future husband is half naked in front of her and her husband. They ignore him and there’s a TV in front of them that had the image of naked women. My sister and her husband closed their eyes, and my sister was trying to look at my future husband to see whether he enjoys that stuff on tv. No he didn’t… He also doesn’t look at that and bowing his head. He wants to marry me quickly but due to something we have to delay for months.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Awliya are showing you your fiance passed a difficult test. Best is to marry quickly, and do the fancy wedding and big show later, to make the family happy.

Is my ghusl nullified?

Question:

Assalamalaikum,

I did ghusl haiz and did it correctly. I did one more ghusl the next day (not because of any reason) but in the evening noticed dried mucus/blood in my nose, so if this ghusl isn’t considered valid because of the presence of that dried mucus/blood. Did this wrong ghusl nullify my correct ghusl done a day before? Shall I do it again?

Answer:

Wa `alaykum salam,

Dry mucus/blood does not invalidate the ghusl. You don’t have to repeat your ghusl.
