Coming late to jama’ah

Question:

As Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Sayyidi,
I have two fiqh questions:
1. If you come late to a jama’ah prayer, do you recite attahiyat and salawat with the jamah and stand up to finish the prayer? Or do you skip attahiyat as well and recite it only after you finish your missed portion.
2. If you make a mistake in prayer and do the extra set of sajdah in the end, do you again do attahiyat etc after the sajdah or you do just the salam?

Shukran Jazeelan and may Allah give you more and more honor and success.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

1.  If you come late to a jama`ah prayer you do recite at-Tahiyyat and Salawat al-Ibrahimiyya, then you stand up to finish the prayer and you recite at-Tahiyyat and Salawat al-Ibrahimiyya again.

2. If you mean by this offering a sajadatu ‘s-sahuw (prostration of forgetfulness) you will recite again at-Tahiyyat and Salawat al-Ibrahimiyya before the final salaam.
