Marriage and what leads to it, its terms and conditions such as mahr (dowry), shuhud (witnesses) and permission; divorce and what lead to it including kufr, abandonment, abuse, lack of maintenance ; forms of divorce, including talaq, khula`, faskh and its terms and conditions such as pronouncing divorce, qadi’s judgment, pregnancy, `iddah, etc.

Asking a shaykh to decide on one’s marriage

Firstly I have seen sometimes the shaykhs informing the marriage mustnt take place and that the couple will split or wont be happy or will be happy in the beginning but split later. the side that consults then abandons the marriage preparation.
