Earning Income

Question:

Salam Alaikum. Please ask a question to Shaykh for me:

I work as a taxi driver so does picking up people too and from pubs & clubs, does this come under haram income? Is it permissible to work & earn a living like this in the evening work if daytime work is not so busy?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is not haram to do certain things such as picking up customers from pubs and clubs if it’s against your will. You should, however, prefer working during the day. The day is for work and night is to rest and worship.

Husband Gambling

Question:

salam,
I caught my husband gambling twice before, he promised me he will never do it again, and hadn’t gambled for 3 months. Recently i noticed he went to casino on 3 occasions. I have been so upset. I confronted him and he brought the Qur’an and took oath on it that he will never gamble again. My mum is saying to trust him as he has taking oath on Qur’an, but i really trusted him. I love him and i cant even divorce him, what shall i do.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
There is no sin on you if your husband gambles. Your living with him is not haram. Keep on pressuring him to stay away from this haram habit and to repent sincerely.

Dream: Chamber of Prophet pbuh

Dream:

Asalaamlikum,
I recently had a dream, where I’m a in large room and around the room was a beautiful woman in white and she came towards me and had the most brightest white face and she tried to touch me and I told her this is the chamber of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW and we are not allowed to do such things at the holy chamber. Also felt around the chamber was the holy grave of Abu Bakr Sadiqqe RA and other pious men. The dream had a sense of heavy presence.

May Allah swt bless you endlessly Shaykh.

Walikum Asalaam
.

Interpretation:

Alaykum Salam,
It is a good dream and if not married already you should try to get married.

Converting for a Relationship

Question:

Aslamu Alaykum,
I need help as soon as possible please, I am a female and I have come across a disbeliever who is a male and he is in love with a Muslim girl. So, because of her he wants to learn  Islam from me, but my friend has said it isn’t jaiz for me to help him because he wants to convert into Islam because of the girl, what should I do?

Remember me in your duas.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
You are allowed to help a male non-Muslim learn about Islam by means that will not create a fitnah between you. We can never know for sure that he is learning about Islam just to marry a Muslim girl. Even if it is the case, Allah swt may make him a practicing Muslim better than many of us. Therefore we are not to speculate about his intention but make ourselves available whenever we can to help non-Muslims learn about the final Message from Allah swt to mankind.

Istikhara follow up

Question:

Salaam to all,
Earlier in the year i posted the following & had a reply:

I suffer from mild autism so it had made it difficult to be loving to people in a manner to let people come close&other less serious characteristics. However, alhumdulillah i feel i have got better & can be loving to whom i marry. I know the person i asked about in above post is not married. Forgive me for delay in acting(mild autism made me anxious & puts lots random thought in my head which are tiring),… I’m so happy i feel so much better alhumdulillah. Is there any time restriction on acting on advice/orders i was given?is it possible also that as we are both not married elsewhere & that is a sign for this to happen between us. I want to marry this person as I’m of better health and can love and look after her. Alhumdulillah

Please pray for my situation and health:) jazakallah

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Delaying is excusable for you, so there is no time restriction but try as much as possible to go ahead without delay. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham are praying for you. May Allah Most High give you happiness here and hereafter.

Tribulatons and Tests

Question:

Salamualaykum.

I wanted to know about why some people are tested severely and others not so much?

Also why are some people tested when they increase sincerely in their good deeds and try to be thankful to Allah everyday for His Blessings but then those blessings are taken away when the person has increased his ibadah and shukr to his Lord?

Answer:

Wa`alaikumussalam,

Allah Almighty tests each person in order to purify him and raise him higher and higher according to his capacity.

And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): “If you are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if you show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed.” (Ibrahim 14:7)

Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, “We believe”, and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and God will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. (Al-`Ankabut 29:2-3)

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, Those who say, when afflicted with calamity: “To God We belong, and to Him is our return”:- They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from God, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance. (al-Baqarah 2:155-157)

God will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messenger. (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in God. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure. (Ali ‘Imran 3:179)

He Who created Death and Life, that He may test which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- (Al-Mulk 67:2)

Verily, We have created man from drops of mixed semen in order to test him, so We made him hearer, seer. Verily, We showed him the way, so he is either grateful or ungrateful. (Al-Insan 76: 2-3)

Verily, We have made that which is on earth as an adornment for it so that We may test them as to which of them are best in deeds. (Al-Kahf 18:7)

And it is He Who has made you generations after generations, replacing each other on the earth. And He has raised you in ranks – some above others – that He may test you in that which He has bestowed on you. Surely, your Lord is Swift in retribution, and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-An`am 6:165)

Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. (Ash-Shura 42:30)

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said:

When Allah who is Great and Glorious loves people He afflicts them [with trials].” Tirmidhi

Anyone for whom Allah intends good, He makes him suffer from some affliction.” Bukhari

When Allah intends good for His slave, He punishes him in this world, but when He intends an evil for His slave, He does not hasten to take him to task but calls him to account on the Day of Resurrection.” Tirmidhi

And Allah shall not test His servant more than what he can bear:

no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear; (Al-An`am 6:152)

On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. (Al-Mu’minun 23:62)

On no soul does Allah place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. “Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which You did lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith.” (Al-Baqarah 2:286)
