Prayer Request: Eyes

Request:

Salaam ya Sultan ul Awliyah, ya Qutubs and all staff at eshaykh especially our Qutub ul Mutassarif Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. Could you please pray for my cousin whose eyes are hurting, he is requesting a dhikr that he can read for his eyes. He does taxi and the last few days he has gone home early so to have eyes that are in pain is not good for his line of work. Can Mawlana Shaykh Hisham pray for me while they are on hajj. We love them.

Amin. Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you and your cousin. Let him give sadaqa every day and recite daily 100 times:

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Rabbana Amanna faktubna ma`a al-shahideen.

and daily 100 times:

اللهُمَّ صّلِّ عَلَى كَامِلِ النُّور
Allahumma salli `ala Kamil an-Noor.

Design a Casino

My name is [private] I am originally from Libya. I am a Muslim and I am an Architect. I have been in USA 3 years and I am working in the Architecture office. So the office right now has a job which is to design a Casino. Is that Halal thing if my boss give me this job to do, or I have to refuse to do it? Shokran

Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
If you are sure that it will be a casino and there is no other main use for it then it is haram for you to help build a place that will be used for the spread of sin and misery in the land, because means have the same status as objectives, and whatever is sure to produce haram is itself haram. Ask for another assignment and they will understand and respect your position. More importantly, Allah Most High will provide you and your family better rizq in dunya and akhira.

Prayer Request: Worker’s Compensation

Request:

Allah Bless You. I am [private], Indonesian, 39 y.o.  3 years ago I was working in Halliburton in Congo as the handman that dealt with the heavy stuff. When I did lifting activity of the drilling equipments I got low back pain, and the doctor said that this is a permanent low back pain, so I lost my job. This company provides the insurance who should give the benefit for surviving my,by the ACE USA Insurance Company. The officer who handled this claim is [private]. The level of benefit will refer to Indonesia’s law. This USA Insurance company appointed their representative office in Indonesia by a man called; [private], and then he hired the famous Lawyer in Indonesia; [private].
Please help me to pray to Allah to open the heart of these people to pay my right as per the law

Problems with living with mother-in-law

salaam,
I have been married now for 3 years and live with my husband’s mother. For these past 3 years my relationship with the mother-in-law is getting worse and worse. She has a very old way of thinking about things and she is always putting me down over the little things like housework. whatever I do is not good enough. I want to be in charge of the cooking and cleaning and looking after my 2 small children without interference from her. My mother-in-law also has 7 other children and they do nothing to help us with her. I am losing my patience and just don’t know how I am going to carry on living like this. Please do you have any suggestions for me?

Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
Speak with your husband and tell him you care for his mother as a favor to him because you love him and wish to please him, not because it is your responsibility. Tell him separate space is best to keep respect with his mother and harmony in the family and in order to avoid problems that might affect the marriage. Recite Ya Haleem 100 times every morning for strength and patience.

Can i still be a good servant?

assalamualaikum wr wb dear Sheikh,

My daughter aged 7 is in care with my brother and his wife. The social services placed her there because I was neglecting her. I’m a single mum (divorced) and I looked after my child as much as I could until I could not anymore. I am saddened of this separation and loss. To me I failed as a mother and Allah is showing me He doesn’t need me to look after my daughter. Now I live on my own and I live in loneliness. I failed my test with Allah. How can I be a good Muslim? How can I be a good servant in front of Allah? How can I prove myself to Allah? To me there is nothing left to do with my life except do the faraz of Islam. Please enlighten me with Allah’s light! jazakumullah kheir!

Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
You are nearer to Allah Most High when you despair of yourself without despairing of Him. Don’t be sad, but continue with the fard and ask for His love and strength, insha-Allah the situation will improve soon. Recite 100 times astaghfirullah and 100 times Ya Wadud daily. Whenever you can, give sadaqa, even a little.

Personal experience in hajj

Question:

Salam. I just went to Mecca. Before doing my first tawwaf, I received an ‘ilham’ asking me to pray 4 things from Allah. 1. ‘Al-ikhlas’ in my heart like the heart of Rasul. 2. ‘Al-khusyuk’ in my ‘solah’ like the ‘solah’ of Rasul. 3. A pray which is easily approved by Allah like the pray of Rasul. 4. Allah to throw His noble ‘An-Nur’ into my heart. So I did the pray while doing tawwaf. When I finished, I can feel ‘something’ like a crown was put on my head, ‘something’ emitted from my forehead, ‘something’ went straight into my heart and stay there and I can hear a voice saying ‘badal, badal, badal…..’ till I finish doing the tawwaf. I still can feel all the ‘things’ on and off till today. Can you ask Sheikh Nazim for his explanation?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
Badal means substitute which means your sins were erased and your state was changed to a better state. Ths is what the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) described of a Hajj Mabrur which makes the pilgrim sinless as if on the first day of his life. Try to keep on the right path so that it will form permanent improvement insha-Allah.

Fear of death

Question:

Salam aleikum,

I think about death all the time, especially at night before sleeping, I wonder if I will wake up in the morning. When I think about death, I just feel fear in my heart. Where is this fear coming from? What should I do to have faith? Thank you for your support.

Remembrance of death together with remembrance of Allah and His Friends, beginning with the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace), his Family and Companions, is worship and is from Allah while gratuitous fear is a satanic whispering. can a human and a jinn fall in love

Question:

asslamalaykum my dear shaykh
i would like to know if a pious human and jinn can fall in love with each other without being possessed. i have known a pious jinn for a year. he has changed my life. he has cured my depression. we both have very strong feelings for each other, and i am 100% sure that i am not possessed. i know this might be haram in islam because we are from different worlds. please i would like to know your opinion.

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,

It is possible according to the majority of the scholars but it opens the door to many problems including possession which might not be evident at first, then it becomes too late to solve them. Hence they found it abhorrent.

Pious jinn are uninterested in interacting with human beings and similarly pious human beings have no interest in jinns. All cure is from Allah Most High, all the jinns and human beings in the world cannot lift a finger if it were not for His permission.

Prayer Request: Want to win court case

I am in court for divorce with my husband. I am taking him to court so I get half of his money and house as he is not paying any child maintenance to our 11month son nor does he see him. It is my child right to have maintenance from his father he is not fulfilling his Islamic duties as a father.

Please give me something to read so I win my court case and get my sons haqq!! Please pray for me to all my difficulties and calamities are kept at bay.
