spirituality

Question:

Salaam, I took bayah a few months ago, I do my daily zikr, but I don’t feel like I am reaching any higher spiritual stations, I had few dreams of mawlana but nothing recently. What can I do to increase my love for Allah? And also for mawlana? And also for the doors of wisdom to open for me and knowledge? Jazakallah salaam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for your upliftment.

Keep the Adab of Rajab firmly and insha-Allah you will be blessed with great and swift spiritual progress.

As for dreams, they are not necessarily an indication of spiritual upliftment or progress, rather, as Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani has often said, “they are candies to keep the interest of the murid focussed on his or her spiritual work.” Often those telling everyone their dreams are showing off, with or without realizing it. For that reason Shaykh Hisham has often said to keep one’s dreams to oneself, for revealing them will 1) stop their appearance, and 2) be a source of pride, and we seek refuge in our Lord from that.

Dream: prophet (sas) in my dream

Dream:

Assalam alaikum! I had a dream when I was very young.I saw prophet (sas) in my dream in his grave. He woke up from his grave saying “lailaha illalah mohammadur rasoolallah. After that he looked at me ,gave me a ring with a green stone in it ,put some money in my hand ,but they were old and then at the end of my dream,I saw someone walk in to meet prophet mohammed(peace be upon him),he was very charismatic.Prophet (sas) hugged him with love. The person I saw was a non muslim before but converted to Islam and came to meet prophet(sas) as soon as he could.I would like you to interpret my dream, pls.Thank you!

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Mabrouk! That is a wonderful and blessed dream and good tidings to you from your youth that you have been entrusted by the Prophet (s) in the spiritual realm to carry his Sunnah and that you will be well-provided physically and spiritually in this life, but take care to avoid haram food and provision. Seeing the Prophet (s) in the dream means safety and security during seven difficult trials in this dunya and seven in the next life.

The man you saw being hugged by the Prophet (s) is a westerner who came to Islam and was granted to be one of Allah’s Saints and insha-Allah seeing him means he will be a means to guide you in your spiritual development, either known to you or not. And Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani has indicated that there are many such saints among western converts, and some of them are in fact from the Abdal (Substitute Saints).

And Allah knows best,

Events in Dreams

Question:

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

As Salaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakaatuh

If you see yourself taking bay’at in a dream is this a valid bay’at in reality?for example you see yourself taking bay’at on the hands of one of the great saints of the past.

Also if you see somebody in a dream as being a Wali, does this mean they are Awliya in reality?

Jazakallah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh,

For the baya` question, the answers may vary depending on which tariqah it is and if there is currently a living Shaykh of that tariqah. Usually it means that Shaykh/wali wanted to pass you spiritual knowledge or to tell you that you are an inheritor of theirs, so you have that baya` in a dream. However, if there is a current living wali of that tariqah, who is a true inheritor, it would be best to take the baya` physically with him.

As for the second question, not necessarily because until we reach the state of perfection, most dreams are symbolic of another meaning which can be very different than what we interpret literally from the images in the dream.

Wife converted before marrage

Question:

My wife converted to Islam before we got married. She converted to Islam before she came to Pakistan to marry me. When I moved to Australia after we got married, my wife said she only converted to marry me. Please advice what should I do. We have daughter as well. Should I leave or stay and try to change her behaviour by showing good faith and good behaviour and fulfill her rights according to islam.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

You answered your own question, after all what is the benefit of showing her a bad face of Islam? How many people, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani said, have converted for love and end up being more pious than their “born-Muslim” spouse? In any case, if she was from Ahl al-Kitab, she was not obligated to convert.

And Allah knows best,

Dream: He told me:” you are the next” part 1

Dream:

In my dream I wake up by a blue/silver eyes man, lightbrown hair, tall, good looking . I saw an Alter with a book on the top. then suddenly 4 man entered the room and started to recite. I was so confuse.

I saw a Christian Priest, Buddhist, JEW, hindu. they were doing something it look like exorcism. then after 10 minute they left. I said to the man: what was that and who are they? he said: ” monk, hindu monk, priest, Jew. They are spiritualist. the highest of all. they were trying to defeated me or overpower me.” but they are not strong. that’s why they left.
you see that book on the altar? well this is it omar. nobody, no-one, not a single person can beat me or hurt me. Only you little Muslim. You can do it. everything is in the book. I was shocked.

Interpretation:

This dream indicates the end-of-life of all religions but Islam, for as Mawlana has expressed many times, they are past their expiry dates. They were good for their times in their original manifestations, but only Islam now, and its holy book, the Last Testament, (the Holy Qur’an) has the power to defeat shaytan, as represented by that man.

and Allah knows best,

Dream: cat visiting Mawlana

Dream:

BismillahirRahmanirRaheem. Asalaamwale kum dear shaykh, before I went to Cyprus I had this dream. I was sitting on the floor with my husband outside a room where Sultan was resting. In another adjoining room brothers also waited. It was magrib. A black&white cat came in from the road & sat with us. Like all mureeds it travelled far to see Mawlana.it felt natural to see a cat sit as a mureed. We encouraged it to go tell Mawlana it had arrived. Later Mawlana came out & lay on the floor with myself & my husband by our feet & said to us he wants one of our friends & us to go to the houses of parliament for a meeting.I was shy as I would be only woman there or what to wear. But he said to go.I woke up feeling Mawlana was saying for me to go to Lefke.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

The cat represents murid from the Jinn, who can take shapes of animals or people. This shows Mawlana is Sultan of Jinn and humans. Saying to go to houses of parliament for a meeting indicate you have been granted spiritual power to confront shaytan, and that is a step towards sainthood, and Allah knows best.
