Taweez

Question:

Assalamu alaykum and thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

Please forgive me for bad adab.

Kindly explain the permissibility and significance of wearing a taweez/azeemat with Islamic source(s). I need to prove to someone that there is value in wearing one.

Shukran.

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Alhamdulillah we addressed this issue a while ago, see “Is Wearing Taweez Shirk?” by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani.

Photography

Question:

Salam

When Mahdi A.S. Comes, all technology will end. I love photography because human life is fragile and it helps me to freeze time and keep the memories. Will I lose this ability later on. Thank you.

May God be pleased with you

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

As Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani said in a recent Arabic suhbat, “We Must Believe in Miracles” the time of Sayyidina al-Mahdi (as) will be a time of khawariq al-a`da, i.e. breaking all bounds of normalcy and miraculous occurrences. So what need will you have for ordinary things at that time?

Prayer Request: AlHamdulillah for life, but why?

Request:

As-Salamu alykom wr wb,

Mawlana(q) says if you are of no good on earth, its better to be under it. Then why am I still up?
Everyone from youngest to oldest, in and out of family, in and out of friends hurt by me… and they express in all means they can and still i end up hurting them more.

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is praying for you insha-Allah.

Allah said:

{O My servants who have wronged themselves do not despair of the mercy of Allah, truly Allah forgives sins in their entirety.} (Az-Zumar, 39:53)

You are still here because you have demonstrated a capacity to change, seek forgiveness and improve your behavior. All things are possible with the baraka and support of awliya, as Mawlana Shaykh Nazim always says, “Allah is able to make a stone to speak.”

and Allah knows best,

Prayer Request: Strength in Iman and Peace in my Heart

Request:

Salam Aleikum wa Ruhmatullah wa Barakatu. I am just starting to investigate tasawwuf, I know it’s not up to me to choose a teacher or a tariqa, but up to Allah(swt) and in his hands. I’m living in Oregon, and there’s not a sufi community here, and although there’s a masjid in town, i haven’t been there yet, mostly because i’m nervous that if i do go, i won’t find the strength and guidance i need, and then i’ll be more lost. Please, pray for me to find a good, honest, righteous teacher and guide, so that i may grow in my faith and not be ruled by my ego, by anger or pain. I ask that Allah (swt) blesses you all and Shaykh Nizam with his highest blessings and love. Please, Allah, help me. Jazakallah khayr.

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.

You are in the best of places, for the spiritual openings will come to you daily, as your heart is open to explore and find and discover realities. There are Sufis in Oregon, and in every place there are seekers. Don’t worry, seek and you will find.  Don’t waste time with those who reject spirituality, but instead seek out the rare few who not only accept it and believe in it but implement it in every aspect of their daily lives.

Three questions about death

Question:

Assalamoualikoum,
Is sudden death a rest for a mouemin. Is there a hadith stating this. What if a person died without prior fatal illness, is that a kind of takhfiif =ease of sakarat lmawet?

What if a person died and the last word of his before leaving house to go to hospital, Ashahadou an lailaha ilallah waashhadou ana mohammedan rasoulullah.

Another question is if a woman has menstruation, can she still kiss a dead person before his jananzah. Sorry for this question, but I really need to know.

Thank you so much wassalam3alaikoum

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

“Death is the gift of the believer” (al-mawtu tuhfatul mu’min; Hakim, `Abd b. Humayd, Abu Ya`la), period. If one dies after saying Shahada they enter Paradise as stated by the Prophet, upon him blessings and peace (Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Hakim). Yes to the last question, the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said “Subhan-Allah! Truly the Muslim is never impure” (Bukhari and Muslim); however, the Hanafis consider that a man or a woman cannot kiss his or her dead spouse because death has dissolved the marriage, while other schools permit it because it is closer to mercy and it goes against mercy to forbid one to kiss their life-companion goodbye. And Allah knows best.

Dream: Butterfly!

Dream:

As Salaamu Alaykum wr wb
Beloved Shuyukh, Hajjah and Naqshi family!

My husband and I seemed to be somewhere. The thought came to me that it is Makkah. But I did not see the Holy Kaaba. Someone, who looked like an Imam said something and it was to my husband. He went with them, and I was sitting alone with a whole lot of young children, who were adorable, and loving me.
I was concerned for my husband and started looking for him, when I passed a room where through a glass window, I saw my husband sitting on the floor, facing the window, while in front of him were people, sitting on the floor facing him.
I seemed to be somewhere that did not look very clean. Then I saw a big Butterfly, very like the butterfly on Mawlana’s finger, in a photo that is on Haqqani fellowship site.

Interpretation:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

The dream points to holiness, purity (Makkah) and innocence. Your husband is your Imam and Allah Most High leads you both to higher states within that family relationship at the hands of Mawlana, to purification and safety on the Day of Resurrection, which is represented by the butterfly as in Surat al-Waqi`a.

Ijaazah Request

Question:

Bismillahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem

As-Salaamu-‘Alaikum-wa-Rahmatullahi-wa-Barakaatuh,
Ya Sayyid Hisham

I recently took online bay’at and said to myself that I would only consider my bay’at accepted if I received a sign from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim or if I see the Prophet-Sallallahu-‘Alaihi-wa-Sallam. Alhamdulillah that night I dreamt of the Prophet-Sallallahu-‘Alaihi-wa-Sallam. He took me by my right hand and led me through my grandmother’s house and also asked why am I afraid of jinn when I am under his special care/protection. This is the karam of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim.

Ya Sayyidee,

Before I took bay’at I would regularly recite the following duas which were a great source of benefit to me. I have been told that in order to achieve the full benefits and special qualities of these duas I need ijaazat. As such I am humbly requesting the ijaazat for these duas from you Ya Sayyidee. They are – Al-Hizbus-Saif-of-Sayyidina-‘Ali, Al-Hizbul-Bahr-of-Imam-Shadhili and Al-Hizbul-Wiqaya-of-Ibn-‘Arabi (Radiallahu-Ta’aala-Anhum)

Jazakallah

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Congratulations. You have ijaza from Mawlana to recite Hizb as-Sayf, Hizb al-Bahr and Hizb al-Wiqaya. (Without “Al-” in the beginning of the title.)

Authenticity of A Hadith

Question:

786

Salam,

I’ve found a hadith as follows:

“A true believer is one with whom others feel secure. One who returns love for hatred”

However, I cannot find the isnad of the hadith and its authenticity. Is this a valid hadith? If it is so, who is the narrator of the hadith and from which book of hadith I can find it?

Thank you very much in advance for the answer.

wassalam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The first clause is part of an authentic hadith narrated in various wordings by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad, Abu Ya`la in his Musnad, al-Tabarani and others.

The second clause is in the Qur’an:

وَلَا تَسۡتَوِى ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ وَلَا ٱلسَّيِّئَةُ‌ۚ ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحۡسَنُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى بَيۡنَكَ وَبَيۡنَهُ ۥ عَدَٲوَةٌ۬ كَأَنَّهُ ۥ وَلِىٌّ حَمِيمٌ۬

{Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!} Surat al-Fussilat 41:34
