Dream: Mother’s Dream

Question:

Mum and me are about to go on holiday. We hear a voice tell us to visit a certain place which is beautiful like Jannah. Me and Mum wait at the bus stop for a bus to take us there. A friend of mine and other unknown girls wait behind us, they hesitate about visiting this place saying they’ll go later/next time. I say no, I’m going now and get into the bus with mum. A muslim couple is already in the bus. My friend then also joins us. When we arrive at the destination, it is exceptionally beautiful. Its like an enormous garden filled with vivid green grass. There are huge mountains there which are also covered in green grass and a sparkling river running through the landscape.

A man tells my mum there is still a lot more to see but for that we would need to get into a boat to take us further. My mum says for today seeing this much is enough, but we will return to see the rest next time. Please interpret, Jazak – Allah.
Answer:

Walaikumsalam Wa Rahmatullah,

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
To reach Jannah you need to just believe in Allah and His Holy Messenger sallal lahu alayhis salam. Once you believe deeply, soon Allah’s Mercy will come to give you power to keep your all religious obligations, meaning you will be able to travel on the straight path and very few are travelling on this path. But to achieve closeness of Allah and His Holy Messenger sallallahu alayhis salam you need to cross the ordeals of desires and you need a true Murshid or guide for that to take you to realities and secrets of our existence which are more beautiful than the flowers and gardens.

Zawiyah

Question:

Dear Shaykh,
I have problem with my ex who is now living inside zawiyah in Jakarta. My questions are:
1. The leader of the zawiyah, does he has to interfere with one’s family problem?
2. Does he has to answer on behalf of my ex regarding everything?

Answer:

It is not clear what the situation is so I can only answer in general terms that the leader of the zawiyah can only interfere if there is inappropriate behavior or danger, otherwise he should not interfere in others’ business. He should give tawsiyah whenever beneficial and show upright behavior. He may arbitrate between two parties who have a disagreement and he may help them communicate if he is reliable and if they both agree to it.

vacation horror

Question:

Sold our house and went on vacation. Vacation to a cabin where everything tried to kill us. Safe inside. Robot showed up inside and carved a mark into my arm.

Answer:

It means don’t lose your heart’s focus on Allah or you will drown in worldly troubles that will destroy your faith. Safety is with Dhikrullah and Allah knows best.

letter from Shaykh

Question:

I had a dream and i think it was a shaykh who wrote to me that “gods” gone home, NO rain or mercy is for you. What does this mean? I’m so scared and worried? (Also it says “Gods” I don’t understand because that’s shirk). please reply

Answer:

It means bring Allah into your heart and leave all ‘gods’ behind in order to reach the Mercy of Allah, which is the Presence of Prophet Muhammad (s) in your life. To do this you must be constant on the Dhikr la ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur-Rasoolullah,sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam and take the hand of a guiding Shaykh. Allah knows best.

Betting on skill based sports halal or haram?

Question:

Salam, I am a boxer and I often correctly can decide on TV which of the fighters win. Is it halal or haram to place a bet on them, as it seems it is a matter of mostly knowledge and skill in choosing rather than luck.

Answer:

To bet in any case where money is offered is not permissible. This comes under the heading of gambling, which is haram.

ayahuasca and similar entheogens

Question:

Salam alaykum wa rahmatuallah wa barakathu respected Sheikhs,

We all know that intoxicants are not allowed, my question is if the prohibition also applies to substances not used for “having fun” but in order to obtain some kind of psychological insights.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

The only excuse in the Sharia for taking substances that intoxicate the mind is anesthesia out of necessity as in surgery. The halal way of obtaining psychological insights in the Shari`a is through keeping company with holy people, dhikr, fasting, keeping vigil, reading Qur’an, studying and meditating, and entering seclusion under a qualified master.

Naad-e-Ali dua for hajat

Question:

1) since Ali is one of the names of Allah SWT (it’s the 36th name means the Highest), was our Prophet calling upon Allah in the dua and not Ali (RA)?
2) Why would our prophet call upon Ali instead of Allah when in trouble
3) should Sunni Muslims read it?

Answer:

Al-`Ali العلي is one of the Divine Names and means The Most High. It has
nothing to do with Sayyidina `Ali b. Abi Talib (r) or any other person named
`Ali.
