Issues with intimacy

Question:

Asalamu Alaikum dear Shaykh,

May you be in good health. May Allah keep you and your family protected always. May He bless you all. Ameen.

I have been married for some years now and have still not been intimate with my husband. There are various reasons. Mostly I clamp up and push him away. We have struggled with our relationship and are more at peace these days. I have tried but I don’t know what to do anymore as I have gotten so used to pushing him away it has become a reflex. I am scared and my husband doesn’t care much about what I want or need, it is just about him.
How can I stop fearing this? Please help.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

A primary purpose of marriage is for the two partners to fulfill their sexual desires in a halal manner. Your refusal is preventing him from this halal outlet and may drive him to haram. If you cannot fulfill his needs you need to mutually agree either to go your separate ways or if he is accepting the status quo, then you need not worry further. But you do need to discuss this together.

Dream: Catholic Mureed

Dream:

Salam alaikum!

I am a lay Catholic monk and I watch all of the videos of Mawlana Sheikh Nazim on your website… I had a dream where I was in my living room on a bright and sunny day with Mawlana Sheikh Nazim and a few mureeds, and we were all doing dhikr. I was holding my green Rosary and saying a God Jesus Christ dhikr, when suddenly, the crucifix on my rosary broke, but I kept on saying the dhikr. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim saw that I had a Catholic rosary in my hand, and I thought he would be angry because he saw my Catholic Rosary. But, with a smile on his face, Mawlana Sheikh Nazim extended his hand and I gave him my Rosary. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim then took a huge green Catholic Rosary out of his pocket, and I noticed that the Rosary had a large Orthodox Christian style crucifix on it. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim then began to break the Orthodox crucifix on the Rosary and then he replaced that old crucifix with a new and bigger Catholic crucifix, and he gave me that new Rosary with a smile, he walked away, and the dream ended. I remembered all the details in this dream. Sheikh Nazim was wearing green with a green turban and the mureeds were wearing white…

May the Peace and protection of God the Father be Upon you!

Interpretation:

`Alaykum Salam,

Crucifix in Islamic dream-interpretation stands for blindness. The dream indicates you can intermittently see the truth of Islam, symbolized by the fact that Orthodoxy is doctrinally slightly closer to pure monotheism, but then you prefer not to see and Mawlana comforts you with what you know. See also what he said recently [in this suhbah Wrong Ways]:

إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ

Innamaa amruhu idhaa araada shayan an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoon.

{Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, “Be!” and it is (comes into being)!}  (Surah Yaseen, 36:82)

Before it reaches to the (Arabic letter) Noon, He (swt) says “Be!” and it comes to exist, before Kaaf reaches the Noon! This is a word according to the level we are in, O son, we can’t go beyond it. This is an ocean! For this we say if one spoke about the Bismillah for a thousand years, for a million years, if for a billion years he spoke for the endless Power Oceans of the Bismillah…! Bismillah, the Holy Name of Allah Dhul Jalaal. Allahu Akbar! O our Lord! Mankind leaves this now and accepts being animals. They don’t make sajda, but they accept being animals to Shaytan. Can they ever find goodness then? They call it madjaz, that they put the old grapes in a cube and compress it, crush it, press it, and with some of it they make dessert or vinegar. We call this crushed, compressed thing “madjaz.” There are no more grape bunches left in it anymore, all of it is in that cube. Some of it becomes a provision which is halaal and some of it becomes the drink that Allah Almighty prohibited. Now dunya also has become madjaz, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, our son. Shaytan made the world as madjaz. Who speaks is not obvious and who listens, who understands is not obvious. Who works is not obvious.

There is no one asking who he is, there is no one who asks, “To Whom am I related? I exist in this existence. Who is He that brought me into this existence, Who is my Master?” Even animals know their masters, they know their owners, but the great Man does not accept Who created him! If you don’t accept, you become madjaz and now the whole world is madjaz. They turned the huge world into an unusable place. If you collect all the people on this huge Earth and put all of them next to one another, they can’t even fill Arabia and the rest would be left empty. Along with this, they became madjaz, saying, “It will be yours, it will be mine…” Yaa Hoo!

وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

Wa lillaahi mulku ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-`ard.

{And to Allah belongs the sovereignty of the Heavens and the Earth.} (Surat al-Fath, 48:14)

Divine Will and Divine Approval

Question:

Salam Alaykum Sayyidi,

I always believed anything that happened or will come to pass is solely what Allah wanted, whether we liked or disliked it, regardless of whether we felt “responsible”. This understanding, MashAllah, eased me through many trials which may otherwise have crushed my Faith.

I thought asserting that anything which happened was NOT what Allah wanted would be clear, instant kufr. But having disclosed this stance to several mureeds (who said it was incorrect) I am now concerned I may still be tainted by blasphemous doctrines I picked up when I was a Takfeeri.

Please can you help me grasp the best understanding of this matter. Thank You Dear Teachers and please forgive me.

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,

It is important to understand the distinction between what Allah wills and what Allah loves. As the Maturidi master Siraj al-Din `Ali ibn `Uthman al-Ushi (d. 569) said in his poem Manzumat Bad’ al-Amali (verse 4):

[Allah is] the One Who wills both goodness and ugly evil,
however, He does not approve of wrong at all!

مُرِيدُ الْخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِّ الْقَبِيحِ
وَلَكِنْ لَيْسَ يَرْضَى بِالْمُحَالِ

The Divine Will (irada, mashi’a) encompasses absolutely everything that takes place in creation. Nothing can take place without His Will, including all the acts of sinners. However, the Divine Love (mahabba) and Divine Approval (Rida) apply only to what Allah Most High commands, not to evil.

Thus, if by your phrase “what Allah wants” you meant His Will, you were quite right; otherwise not.

Marriage Issues

Question:

Assalmualekum,

My nikah took place before six months and the final wedding celebration is after 4 months. I get distressed every now and then. I love my husband and he loves me very much too. But we seem to fight a lot from few days on the phone as he is in another country. It seems that we not compatible in a few areas, although I respect that, he doesn’t. I try to be a very good wife, although I don’t stay with him now, I try to love and take care of his family whenever I get a chance. I know little disputes are normal in a marriage, but husband makes it a big deal and says that he doesn’t ever want to quarrel with me. Is it nazar? I want to increase the love in between us. Please give me a wazifa and I need prayers. JazakhAllah...

Answer:

Alaykum salam,
Recite daily Ya Hafiz Ya Wadud x100 and change your email handle to a positive name.

Dream: Please tell me a way

Dream:

I did istikhara for a boy whom I love but didn’t understood the signs clearly. After few days of istikhara I had three dreams about him. In first dream I saw he is having a beautiful girl in his home some one in dream told me she is his wife. In second dream I saw he is standing at bank of a river and on other side a girl is standing with long open hair. In third dream I saw him with me and I am washing dishes in his kitchen and he tried to hold me from back and trying to capture a photo and I am not happy on his act. Is it all dreams are shaitanic? I do offer prayer 5 time and also read Quran and Darood pak.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

These dreams means that the istikhara is negative.

And Allah knows best.
