Rights of controlling inlaws

Question:

Asalaamualaikum,

My father-in-law screamed and intimidates me because my husband and me make halal decisions which he did not “Give permission for.” I keep my respect but he won’t apologize and mistreats my husband. They smile before my husband and plan against me. My husband won’t visit without me and gets conflicted.

They mistreated first daughter-in-law making her seem bad, smiling to her face, and whispering to her husband. She moved away to save her marriage. Do I have to live near them?

Is my husband obligated to obey what his parents say? How often does my husband/me have to visit (they are not sick)? Should they always always ask questions and give advice about our life? If he has older brothers who’s most responsible to parents? What are their rights from us? Is there a prayer against deceitful people?

May Allah Bless you.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Your husband is your door to Paradise and his parents are his door to Paradise.
Recite Hasbiya Allah wa ni`ma al-Wakil x100 daily and ask Allah for patience and strength.

Dream: Heaven and hell

Dream:

In my dream I witnessed zombies, bewildered evil human beings spread across a field. There was brightness in the sky and in the area also were fellow murids. We murids behaved carefully not to be noticed by zombies. Then a cave was present and murids were being guided up the cave and I knew was leading to paradise. My dream then restarted at the cave’s entrance where my cousin who was bound to hell latched to me for help knowing my safety. I tried to remain calm and at a crossway in the cave he and a former Christian manager deceived me to go the path to hell. Unaware of this I again went up the cave and witnessed evil looking beings while trying to be careful and subtle so as not to join them. The entrance to hell I didn’t enter as I retreated carefully back. I then awoke.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

It means also that in this time of confusion you need to enter the cave of safety (your heart) to be protected from the evil present within and outside you.

And Allah knows best.

Dream: Seeing my dead grandfather on Eid

Dream:

Salaam,

I dreamt it was Eid day and I was helping kids into a van to go to the masjid for salaat. I ran back inside our house and saw my grandfather – who had been dead for several years in real life – dressed in white shalwar kameez, finishing up a prayer in jamaat. He stood and folded his rug, smiling. My dream self knew somehow that he was dead, but also saw him standing there, and I ran to him and hugged him hard and was just sobbing. He laughed and rubbed my back and said, “Beta, why are you crying? There’s nothing to cry about. Everything is fine.” I woke up from the dream, and found I was still crying.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Alaykum Salam,

Alhamdulillah, a sign of your grandfather’s good position in barzakh, the isthmus life between dunya and akhira. Seeing him in your dream shows that his soul is free. And Allah knows best.

I wish to know about the permissibility of issuing pictures and movies related to the life of Sahabahs and Prophets. As here in Pakistan ulema says it is a sin to watch these movies and pictures even made by Muslims because no one should imitate these pious personalities… Please tell me is it allowed to watch them?

Thank you

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Salam,

There is nothing wrong in producing movies about our Muslim heroes for educational purposes.

Dream: In a mall

Dream:

AssalamWaAlaikum,

I keep having a recurring dream in which I am at a mall. Sometimes I am alone and sometimes I have company. I go to a shop to buy cheesecake and coffee. Sometimes I manage to buy it but mostly for some reason or the other, I can’t get them and when I do manage to buy it, I never get to eat it. The mall and circumstances change in each dream but the concept is always the same. At first I ignored it as just a dream but I keep having these dreams. Is there a meaning to it?

Jazakallah

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa ‘alaykum as salaam,

This dream can mean that you wish to have an easy career without doing the work that is demanded to get it. Be patient and go one step at the time. Insha’Allah you will succeed.

The dhikr for this is to say is HasbunAllahu wa ni’mal Wakeel at least 300 times a day.

And Allah (awj) knows best.

Repentance, zina

Question:

Salam,

I committed zina with someone’s wife. I regret and I want to repent. Do I have to ask forgiveness from the husband?

wassalam

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Salam,

Since our Lord commanded us not to reveal our sins, hide your sin and do not disclose it unless absolutely necessary. Keep it between you and Allah swt after repenting and asking forgiveness from Him.
