Permissibility of wishing birthdays

Question:

Assalamualaikum,
I wanted to know if it’s permissible to wish someone “Happy birthday”. I stopped wishing a while back when I came to know its not liked and came to know that its disliked because its like us copying the Kafirs. I definitely don’t want to fall into this but have been confused about this issue as of late. Is it okay to receive the gifts on this day (like taking gift’s from your parents even though one doesn’t “celebrate”).

Also, what could be a way to reply politely to those who wish you birthday but you yourself don’t celebrate or wish anyone. And, is it true that if one eats the birthday cake or food of someone, their prayers of 40 day is invalid? I heard this one from a friend.
JazakAllah Khair!!

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
There is nothing wrong to wish someone “Happy birthday.” What is wrong is when people celebrate their own birthdays. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) never celebrated his own birthday but Muslims do and should celebrate his birth regularly. It is advisable to wish someone “Happy birthday,” uttering words such as, “I’m glad you were born. May Allah give you a long life filled with faith,” etc.

Dream: Mawlana Nazim giving me Amulet

Dream:

Assalamualaikum!
In the dream, Mawlana Nazim gave me an gold colour Amulet among 3 other people. The purpose of the amulet was to open something, it seemed, a door to an Islamic reality. One of the persons who got the amulet had ill intentions to use it for, but it seemed that Mawlana Nazim gave that to him just to delude him. I was worried what the person would do with it but when I saw that it was just a delusion for him, we were relaxed (myself and the other persons who received the amulet from Mawlana).
Please interpret.
JazakAllahu Khair.

Interpretation:

a`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This dream can mean that Mawlana is protected from people who have bad intention
toward Him.

And Allah knows best.

Dream: Safety pin in eyes

Dream:

Assalamualaikum,

Some time ago, I saw myself in my dream removing safety pins from my eyes (like one would remove lashes from the eyes in case it gets into your eye).

Is this dream of any significance?

JazakAllah Khair!!

May Allah SWT continue to bless your work… Ameen.

Interpretation:

a`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This dream can mean that you are protecting your belief from innovations by removing any bad ideas represented by the safety pins.

And Allah knows best.

Is Riba Making us Fools?

Question:

Salam Alaykum All,
This is [private] from Pakistan. I have this question of high importance, i want its answer direct from MSN if possible.
Its regarding riba. Throughout Islamic banking murahaba, musharika and profit bearing Loans are a tool to make us fool? Because as i know, there is no concept of PROFIT in lending in Islam.

Thanks.
Salam Alaykum

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
Islamic finance is based on trading. It is essential that risk be involved in any trading activity. Islamic banks and other financial institutions will trade in so called Shariah-compliant investments with the money deposited by customers. They share the risk and the profits between them.

Islamic banking is a very complicated science and I am aware of a risk giving an opinion. Allah knows best.

Dream: Scholar’s home

Dream:

Es selamu aleykum,
We were living at a past away scholar’s home; I don’t know who he was! I found there many books and magazines about Islam, I found that some of them were like my books but more than I have. The home was in the second floor, and I saw that it was raining a little. I descended in the first floor, were Wahabis were established. I saw many good foods, like cheese, etc. The food was appealing but I didn’t touch anything, I was there just to watch, no more things. Some voice told me that they were so rich, that they didn’t eat weal, only deer, the best of food, but I wasn’t envious of that….

Interpretation:.

a`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This dream can mean that your level of Islam has increased as you are in the second floor, and your spiritual food comes from following the scholars and their knowledge hidden in their books. When you went down to the first floor you found the Wahhabis eating dunya food because that is their main target.

And Allah knows best.
