Living in a place full of statues

Question:

selam
please answer for sake of Allah and Prophet
I’m an English convert. I live in Turkey with my kids. We live in a town in Istanbul near the sea. The people are rich. There’s statues of people and animals nearly everywhere. They are very big and I’m scared to live here because of Allah’s Punishment on this place and people. I’m Shaykh Nazim’s murid. My husband doesn’t pray either. What should me and my kids do? We got no where else to go. Do you advise us to stay here or move? If we move then to where? Same country or another country or back to the UK by the dergah? When should we leave to be with the true ones? Pray for it to be possible to leave and be in safety.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Be patient and advise your husband in a gentle and respectful way of his obligation to pray. If you cannot move elsewhere, stay where you are and keep your family together. Recite A’udhubillah and Bismillah 100x each daily.

Insha-Allah, Istanbul is blessed and al-Mahdi (a.s.) will be there to retrieve the Prophetic Trusts.

Dream ‘rejection’

Question:

Salaam ya Syedi,

I just wondered for what reasons may a dream be ‘rejected’ on eshaykh, so an interpretation of the dream is not provided? Are you able to tell me for what reasons this may happen?

I’ve posted about the same dream twice, but have not heard anything, yet another, later, post of mine has been answered. So i wondered why it may be that a dream is not posted and interpreted.

JazakAllah khayr. May Allah bless you all and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

There is no reason to reject a dream. It may be that none of the scholars was able to provide an interpretation or it may have simply been overlooked. In either case we apologize. As we have said in response to other posts regarding ‘no response,’ you should re-submit your dream and insha-Allah it will get answered.

Knowledge on Naqshbandi Haqqani

Question:

Assalaam u alaykum,

I would like to say that I am not a Naqshbandi yet but i am very interested. I want to know how do the four fiqhs connect with Sufism?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salaam,

Sufism is an ijtihad in `ibadaat (forms of voluntary worship), however, it supports four or five fiqhs/madhhabs in the five pillars of Islam. Imam Shafi`i has stated, “A Muslim is either a mujtahid (does ijtihad) or a muqallid (follows a mujtahid).”

Every Muslim, whether Sufi or not, is to follow one of the four or five madhhabs. Whoever claims to follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah fully, claims to be on the level of a mujtahid imam.

Dream: White Goat

Dream:

Assalam-alaikum,
I saw a dream that I am following a brown goat and while i am following i see that a white Goat wants to follow but he is tied with a chain, some how he breaks free and follows. I see that the brown Goat enters a hut and the doors closed. I turn back see a white worm like thing, which transforms in a beautiful long bird and that transforms into the same white Goat. The white Goat then walks off.
What does it mean?

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salaam,

Slaughter two goats, one white and one brown, give to poor people. Your life will improve.

Be careful. Following a brown goat means following your bad desires. Purity, represented by the white goat, overcomes that, so you will always be with purity.

Dream: Huge White Cloud

Dream:

I HAD A DREAM THAT ME AND MY BROTHER WERE ON TOP OF OUR OLD HOUSE OPEN ROOF I WAS LOOKING LEFT AND SEEN A HUGE THICK WHITE CLOUD COMING TOWARDS ME AND TOLD MY BROTHER CAN YOU SEE THAT CLOUD HE SAID NO I CANT SEE ANYTHING WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?… THEN IT CAME CLOSER AND CLOSER SO I TOOK MY BROTHER TO THE 2ND FLOOR OPEN ROOF, AS THE CAME CLOSER TO COVER THE VALLEY IN FRONT OF US. SO I ASKED HIM CANT YOU SEE IT NOW ? HE SAID NO I CANT SEE ANYTHING.. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEE IT SUBHANALLAH, AND THEN THE CLOUD MOVED AWAY FROM THE VALLEY INFRONT TO THE RIGHT..THE STRANGE THING IS THAT THE VALLEY TURNED INTO GARDENS WITH NICE WHITE PALACES OF GOLD, AND I CAN HEAR THE PEOPLE LAUGHING AND ARE ALL HAPPY AND PLEASED.

Interpretation:

Your level is different from your brother’s. Allah (swt) showed you these paradises behind the cloud, and if you continue doing good `amal, you will begin to see more. Seeing your brother not seeing is to show the difference in levels.

Marriage between a Sufi and Salafi

Question:

assalamualaikum,

Am a Muslim woman following the Sufi path and got married to a Salafi. The man made me believe he was a Sunni before marriage and after marriage I found out he follows Salafi path.We have many clash of ideas and sometimes I ask myself whether there is any baraqah in our marriage. I wanted to know if it is permissible for us Sufis to stay with
Salafis in wedlock, or its not allowed and what should I do now? Fortunately we don’t have any children yet. Thanks.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

You said the answer, “fortunately you don’t have a child.” We are not going to put our opinion, but we will tell you that you will clash all your life about Salafi vs. Sufi until one follows the other, and I don’t believe with his `aqidah he will follow other than that. He might push you to follow the Salafi way and be careful. And I won’t say the marriage is not correct but it is up to your opinion.

Tired of Dog Pooping & Peeing in the house

Queston:

Assalamu Alaikum Imam,

Can you please give me your advice?  I will try to make this short.

We adopted a pure-bred Chow Chow puppy from a breeder 3 years ago.  (We had a Chow dog before who was perfectly behaved.  He died of old age.)

This dog after 3 years has not learned potty training.  When he feels he’s not getting enough attention, he is going to the bathroom in my house. :(  He has ruined our carpets.  We’ve tried different things to get him to stop and it’s not working.  We decided we have to get rid of him.

The problem is-  Chows are special dogs that need special owners that understand their temperament.  They are “one person” dogs and can also have a mean streak.  My dog [private] is very attached to me.  He has been good with other people and other animals while we’ve had him but unfortunately, last year when he was very frightened at the vet …. my brother in law was trying to pick him up to put him on the scale to be weighed … and he bit him in the face.  The dog actually loved my brother in law- but it was out of fear.

Well, once a dog has bitten someone for any reason, the experts say he should be euthanized and not given to another family.  Not only is their potential for him to bite someone else — we can get sued and financially ruined if he does bit anyone.

So Imam, is my best moral choice/obligation to euthanize my dog? :( :(  This is so hard for me.  But I want to do what is right and what Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would do!

Thank you for your advice.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is not haram to own a dog, though it is not hygienic and because of that not permissible to keep a dog in the house as a pet. If there is absolutely no chance of an animal recovering, then euthanasia is permitted.
