Inshallah I’m going to visit Uzbequistan the coming month. Could you please inform me which maqams I should visit while there?
thanks, salams

Answer:

Most of the Khwajagan have their maqams in Uzbekistan:
Khwaja Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani
Khwaja `Arif ar-Riwakri
Khwaja Mahmoud al-Anjir al-Faghnawi,
Khwaja `Ali ar-Ramitani
Khwaja Muhammad Baba as-Samasi
Khwaja as-Sayyid Amir Kulal
Khwaja Muhammad Baha’uddin Shah Naqshband
Khwaja `Alauddin al-Bukhari al-`Attar,
Khwaja Ya`qub al-Charkhi
Khwaja `Ubaydullah al-Ahrar,
Khwaja Muhammad az-Zahid
Khwaja Darwish Muhammad
Muhammad Khwaja al-Amkanaki

Most are in Samarqand, while Sayyidina Ubaydullah al-Ahrar is buried in Tashkent.

Don’t forget also, while visiting there, to visit the maqam of Sayyidina Isma`il al-Bukhari, author of the Sahih al-Bukhari.

Separated from Husband

Question:

Assalam u alaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatahu,

I have been separated from my husband for 4 years. We had many problems and I got seriously ill. My husband was violent and abusive towards me and never contributed to the household or bought food etc. we have 1 son who is 6 years old. After I got ill my husband left. He refuses to pay for the upbringing of our son and does not support me either now. 2 years ago we decided to reconcile however he again changed his mind and refused to come back to us. He got married a year ago again and I’m now supporting myself and my son.

What are my rights? Am I entitled to a khula? What can I do?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

You are entitled to khul‘ but you should consider Faskh; it is a marriage dissolution issued by a judge in response to a request by the wife and normally takes place against the will of the husband. However, the judge has to be appointed either by the leader of the Muslims, or by the Muslim community, or at least recognized as being an Islamic judge by the vast majority of the Muslim community.

Fighting Nightmares

Request:

Good Morning,
Even when I read 7 times Ayat al Kursi verses and Al-Baqara verses and sleep. I still have things that attach me to the bed like a nightmare. I feel numb in my blood and tired. Then I try to make connection with Mawlana and then it’s gone.

What more can do to keep the nightmares away?

Response:

Alaykum Salam,
May Allah bless you and support you. See this post.

Young Widow has Questions

Question:

1. I am a young widow. I loved my husband dearly, he is the only person I wish for. Life is difficult, I have children.  If I marry again how will my deceased husband feel when he hears. He was a very respectful person who loved me.

2. Also when in the next life… if our children have grown up, will they be recognizable to my deceased husband. As you know children change from small age to adults. Wont they be total strangers to each other?

3.  I am 3- my husband passed at age 4-.
Time passes in the world, if live until old age, i will automatically think like an old woman,, how will i feel when i meet my husband in the next life, because i have heard that you remember the world.

Thank you for your kind reply, it is much appreciated. May Allah reward you.

Answer:

A remarried widow will have the choice of whichever husband she prefers in Paradise.

The hereafter does not compare to this life, so if one’s state is good in the hereafter they no longer look at this life because it is like a candlelight in comparison to the sun. Therefore do not worry about how your deceased husband will feel as he is completely absorbed in a new life, a much better one in sha Allah.

In the next life children will certainly know their parents even if those children died in stillbirth.

As for age it does not apply in the next world, and Paradise will be filled only with youth. This is the meaning of the Prophet’s saying: “No old woman shall enter Paradise” i.e. she will be young again when she enters it.

Lastly, what we remember of the world is only the eternal part, i.e. the dhikr of Allah and of His generosity to us and other Attributes. May Allah grant you and us Paradise.

Dream: Green Cloth

Dream:

Asalaamualikum Shaikh,
Jakallah for sharing your knowledge with us. I dreamt that my mother had bought new clothes for all my sisters and she was handing out all the gifts. She handed me my gift which was a beautiful green shawl/hijab/scarf. It was a deep green, which is my favorite colour, and the scarf was long and embellished with mirrors. After I got my present, I was thinking of ways to wear it. What does this mean? I am in the midst of seeking marriage and waiting for a lot of things to happen.

Interpretation:

Bismillahir’Rahmanir”Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This can mean that you are going to find a good looking husband who is pious.
And Allah knows best.

Dream: Guaranteed Paradise

Dream:

as-salam’u’alaykum,
I had a dream that I was watching people do tawaaf and the Prophet (S.A.W) was also doing tawaaf though I did not see him I knew that he was there. Then I started reading a book that said if you go for hajj 12 times, you are guaranteed to enter the gates of paradise. I would like to know if this statement is actually true because I have not heard this anywhere before.

Interpretation:

Alaykum Salam,
Seeing tawaf or Kaaba without action on your part signifies you have or will be given leadership. Being there together with the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) is a most excellent sign of purity and protection in Religion.

There is no such hadith to my knowledge as “if you go for hajj 12 times, you are guaranteed to enter the gates of paradise” but it is established that a single hajj mabrur enters one into Paradise.

Dream: Fighting with a Jinn

Dream:

Salaam Alaykum,

I had a dream few days ago in the morning time. My siblings were present in the dream and my sister was trying to warn me to not speak about any jinns as she is frightened of them. Suddenly a jinn/presence of a Jinn was physically fighting with me. I could not see it however I was struggling and wanted to say Laillaha ill’lillah, I struggled but managed to say this in such a loud voice and strong conviction, that it disappeared. After that I felt peace. My mother appeared to me in the dream and said this jinn could be connected to some gold jewellery an elder gave to a member of my family. Does my dream mean anything? God Bless you and many thanks.

Interpretation:

Bismillahir’Rahmanir’Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This can mean that you are strong in faith, all you need is to add to Lailaha ill’la’l’lah, Muhammadun Rasulul’Lah. Do 100 or more Salawat on Prophet (s), then all the jinns can no longer deal with you anymore.
And Allah knows best.

Are the Fatwas, general or case-based?

Question:

AssalamualaykumwRwB

I’ve read that one has to make up for missed fard prayers. If it’s the case with me then I’d not be-able to perform many/any Sunnah prayers. Daily awrad and regular housewife duties takes up much time. I think I’ve 10 years to make up. I don’t know if I’m to burden my mother with this knowledge who has to make up maybe 24 years (convert) and father maybe 35 years. Please advise-both already don’t have time for awrad-but praying their faraaíd now. Please pray Prophet Muhammad SAW still will intercede for us, amin.
Also, if a woman wants to feel beautiful for herself and self esteem – not necessarily her husband or others, can she pluck her eyebrows?

Lastly- the fatwas that one finds on this site, is it general or are they cased based, i.e. would I need to ask the same question or can I take answers from the others for myself? JazaakaLaahu khayron.

With love

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

1. Make up your missed Fard prayers as much as you can and keep on praying your current fard and Sunnah prayers.
2. It is forbidden for women to remove any part of the hair of their eyebrows to feel beautiful.
3. The fatwas that one finds on this site regarding Islamic Law (fiqh) are general.
