Mawlid of Rasulallah

Question:

Salam Alaik Ya Shuyukh,

What’s the opinion of Mawlid of Nabi Muhammad saw in all four Madzhab of Ahl Sunnah? Some Ulama’ said that it is haram to celebrate birthdays including also the Prophet’s saw birthday while some say it is allowed as bringing us closer to know our Sayyidina al Amin and remember him by doing salawat and also Qasidas.

Syukran

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

In a hadith in Sahih Muslim we find a hadith wherein Muhammad (saws) was asked as to why he fasted on Mondays. He (saws) responded that,”this was the day of his birth and that he fasted on it as a way of thanking Allah (swt).” Therefore, it can be established that celebrating his blessed birth was in fact a Sunnah of Rasuulullah (saws).

Signs, Day Of Judgement

Question:

Aslamu Alaykum to everyone.

How many signs (of judgement day) are they left to happen and how many have happened?

Answer:

Wa `alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullah.

Whether the Signs of the Judgment Day are reckoned as five or ten, none of them have come to pass.

Please see the post “Signs of Last Days: Major & Minor” for an enumeration of the Signs properly so-called, as well as for an evaluation of the myriad other indications presaging these Signs. For more details on this subject, and for advice on how best to prepare, please consult The Approach of Armageddon? An Islamic Perspective by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani.

Concerning those other indications of the Last Days, the Sultan ul-awliya Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani – may Allah sanctify his secret – explained that the Lord of Time al-Mahdi – peace be upon him – “is going to appear after 101 hindrances. He must cut all of those before he can appear. It means that the time of his appearance must be just correct. 99 of the hindrances have passed away. Now only two of them are remaining…the first sign: Russians coming into Turkey. By Awliyas this is expected to happen soon. After this, the Third War will come…There must be a Great War between East and West and the West will be victorious over the East…During the war Mahdi `alayhi Salam will come…”

Salawat Ibrahimmiyah

Question:

I personally follow the Hanbali Fiqh regarding Salah, and well I was wondering that when you pray four rakat Salah e.g. Zuhr, Isha etc. In the second rakat , after Ashadu An La Illaha illah Wa Ashadu An Muhammad Abduhu Wa Rasulu, do you make takbir and start your third rakat, or do you continue with salawat Ibrahimiyyah?

Answer:

You don’t recite the salawat Ibrahimiyyah in the first tashah-hud in the fard of Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha’.

Locating Graves of Awliya

Question:

Assalaamu Alaykum respected Shayukh,

Please can you advise me on how or what to do in order to locate a grave of a Wali that is buried in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

A khadeem in Cape Town at one of the mazaars, told me that there are Awliya buried in Port Elizabeth, but he does not know the exact location.

I am astonished to know that there are mazaars in this area. SubhanAllah! I am from an old town near Port Elizabeth, and I never knew of any mazaars there when I lived there.

How can I find these special graves?
Any ayats that I can read?

Please advise.

JazakAllah.

Answer:

Wa `alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullah.

You are seeking to open a matter belonging to the Unseen.

And with Him are the keys of the Unseen; none knoweth them but He.” (VI, 59)

Still, history does provide a great example of such a process in the discovery of the location of the Greatest Shaykh Muhyiddin Ibn `Arabi, may Allah sanctify his secret. In the classic Mercy Oceans (Book Two) of Sultan al-Awliya Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, may Allah sanctify his secret, knowledges relating to that event have been revealed in relation to which you may discover guidance:

I heard from our Grandsheikh this tale describing the real powers of Awliya. He was speaking of the miracles of Sheikh Muhiy-ud-Din Ibn Arabi; Esh-Shaikh Al-Akbar. In his books he wrote many predictions for the future. He said: “If ‘siin’ is going into ‘shin’ then will appear the tomb of Sheikh Muhiy-ud-Din.” After he was killed for saying to the people: “The god you worship is under my feet” many years passed with his burial place in obscurity, until Sultan Selim captured Sham. Selim (initial letter ‘siin’) entered Sham (initial letter ‘shin’) as predicted. On the first Friday he ordered a bath, and ordered that no one else be permitted inside. He took off his clothes, and was stepping into the bath-dome when he saw someone sitting there. He quickly became angry, “Who is that?” Came the reply: “O Sultan, just go and bring soap and a wash-cloth and wash my back.” The Sultan carried out the order, thinking: “This is no ordinary person.” “O Sultan, do you know who I am?” “For the sake of Allah, tell me, who are you?” “I am Muhiy-ud-Din Ibn Arabi.” Then the Sultan kissed his hands and feet. The Sheikh asked him to find his tomb and build a dome and mosque there. “How can I find the tomb?” “Before fajr go up a minaret and look toward Jebel Qasiyun. You will see a column of light reaching to the sky.” The Sultan did this and sent workers to dig at that spot. They found Sheikh Muhiy-ud-Din intact in his shroud…

So many miracles there are for the Awliya of this Ummah, giving an indication for the proof and power of the Prophet…

Living with My In laws

Question:

Salam,

I’d like to know what I should do about this. I’ve been living with my in laws (brother in law too) for the past 2 plus years after marriage. I’d like to know if I must cover myself in the presence of my brother in law (he is always at home) and also sometimes I’m alone with him at home with my child. Is this permissible? Also my mother in law has this habit of not knocking on my door before coming in. She just opens it as she likes and when my husband asks her, she says oh my son is in there I can do what I want. I really hate it as right now I don’t have a house of my own yet and my room in my only privacy. What should I do?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is obligatory upon a Muslim lady to observe hijab in the presence of her brother-in-law. He is not your mahram and cannot be alone with you at home.

You have the right to live separately in order to attain privacy with your husband and children, and at the same time your husband cannot disobey his mother. It is your husband’s duty to resolve this situation wisely.

Here is the list of the MAHRAM in whose presence HIJAB is not required:

OF THE WOMAN ——– OF THE MAN

1.  Father.                                     1. Mother.

2.  Grandfather.                             2. Grandmother.

3.  Brother.                                    3. Sister.

4.  Father-in-law.                           4. Mother-in-law.

5.  Husband.                                  5. Wife.

6.  Son.                                         6. Daughter.

7.  Step-son.                                 7. Step-daughter.

8.  Son-in-law.                              8. Daughter-in-law.

9.  Nephew.                                  9. Niece.

10. Uncle (paternal).                      10. Aunt (paternal).

11. Uncle (maternal).                     11. Aunt (maternal).

12. Minor boy.                              12. Minor girl.

13. Women.                                  13. Men.

Dream: Green Turban

Dream:

AoA
My father has passed away 11th of Muharram this year, almost two month ago.

I have seen following two dreams:

1. I and my family members are seeing a green turban and we are saying this is a turban our father has received. We are trying to place this turban on a safe place.

2. My father has driven my car and he handed over driving to me and saying that I am ready to go  the Airport. His face is red with smiling and wearing suit and tie.

Could you please ask the interpretation of these two dreams

Jazakallah
Allah Hafiz

Interpretation:

Bismil’lahi’r’rahmani’r’raheem:

The turban is sign that your Father has honor and dignity. Your father is asking you to follow his way of how to make it in dunya.

And Allah knows best.

Dream: Dajjal

Dream:

Salaam,

I was walking besides many people on what seemed to me as being Hajj. All of a sudden the sky turned dark and a figure appeared in front of us. It seemed to be the Dajaal. He ordered everybody to place the Qurans they had in their hands facing downwards on the floor. Those who disobeyed got their heads chopped off by him. I disobeyed, he did so to me. When I awoke I had a very severe headache. If it makes any difference it was before Fajr and I am 14yrs old. JazakALLAH.

Interpretation:

Walaikum Assalam,

Good tidings for you, InchaAllah you will be safe from the trials of Dajjal (Allah save us all). His trials and schemes are so severe that most people will not be able to resist them.

Allah knows best.

Dream: Vision of Shaykh Hisham Wearing Green

Dream:

We did a Milad al Nabi today and I saw Sheikh Hashim in a vision with a large green turban and green cloak. They were looking at me from above the turban was very large, bigger than their head and looked like it was in a shape of a boat in green. Please can you tell me what this means?

Thank you. May Allah give Shaykh Nazim and Hisham a long life inshaallah.

Interpretation:

Amin. Green symbolizes the Prophetic Sunna, the wisdom of al-Khidr [which means green] and the Prophetic family. Boat indicates the ark of safety through Islam, Sunna, Tariqa, and Ahl al-Bayt.

Dream: Golden Peace Dream

Dream:

I entered a dwelling place and felt that I descended some stairs. I then turned my head initially to the right, whereupon I saw a well lit room and faced a wall with two or three short wooden shelves, on top of which were positioned some ‘earthy’ looking mugs.
I then turned my head to my left whereupon I saw a single bed positioned in the corner of a room. At the foot of the bed was a potted plant/shrub which was covered in blossom. Simultaneously, I noticed that the colour of the bed spread, the blossom and the general ambiance of the room all seemed to emanate a golden glow. The overriding feeling which accompanied this image was a profound sense of peace, a feeling which continued for a short period on awakening.

Interpretation:

Walaikum Assalam,

InchaAllah this means that you are feeling contentment with yourself, and that your metal (character) is good.

Allah knows best.
