Prayer Request: Problem at Work

Prayer Request:

Assalamu’alaikum

I am having problem at work, specifically with my current boss. I cannot cope with the current workload and the way he treats me. I feel that there is not chemistry. I am considering to quit the job without getting any jobs yet.

Please advise me.

Thank you…

Response:

Wa`alaikumussalam

This is a common issue, but we have to learn to take things in our stride and strive to become better. Recite Hasbunallah wa ni’ma l-wakeel 100x daily and Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum after Fajr.

Dream: Before I was Born

Dream:

Before my mom gave birth to me she dozed asleep and she had a dream where people were gathering around our house with green clothes and in her dream my mom asked what the people wanted and they said they wanted the green flag. After that she woke and rushed to the hospital to give birth. What is the significance of this dream to my life?

Dream: Isthikhara for Marriage

Dream:

AssalaamWaLaikum wa Rahmatullah,
I prayed isthikhara last night for a sister I intend to marry and have a good feeling about. The following were my most vivid dreams:

First dream: I was at home enjoying time with my siblings and mother, and my mother requested that I take charge of managing my sister’s finances.

Second dream: My sisters brought home a really cute light beige colored puppy. We all immediately fell in love with it and decided to keep it. As they started playing with it my sister accidentally dropped it and I tripped backward and almost fell on top of the puppy but barely managed not to do so. When I got up the dog had turned into a baby boy that stood up and started walking. The baby’s arms also shook for a couple of seconds after he stood up. This dream brought very happy feelings.

Interpretation:

Alaykum Salam,
Both are positive dreams and both are explicit enough that there is approval and encouragement to go ahead, Bismillah.

Visitors after Childbirth

Question:

Salaam Alaikum,

Inshallah you are all in good health – Ameen.

I am due to give birth in the next few weeks inshallah, and my husband has advised me that no one is allowed to visit me apart from immediate family, until 40 days after the birth. Is this correct?

I know that I and the baby have to remain indoors for 40 days, but we need clarity on who and who may not visit during this period.

JazakAllah.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The 40 days period (Nifas) is the maximum days for post natal bleeding according to Islamic law. During this period the mother is not to pray, fast, read Qur’an, have sexual contact with her husband etc. If the bleeding stops before 40 days then she should take Ghusl (bath) and start offering Salah etc.. This is what needs to be observed. Everything else is not part of our Islamic tradition. Allahu A’lam!

Distraught about Marriage Cancellation

Question:

ASalaam..
I am in a big problem and if you will please help me or else I will go insane. I am one of the Mureeds of Master Shaykh Nazim Adil al Haqqani QS. To keep it short i was engaged with a boy from the last 11 years ,the boys name is [private] and he is also one of the mureeds of Master Shaykh Nazim Adil al Haqqani QS. He went for higher studies to UK and there he came to know about spirituality. We were getting married soon and our parents were preparing for our marriage. Before some 2 months he started his spiritual studies and told me that he will ask about our marriage to some spiritual person and now he is telling me that some person who knows about spirituality told him that if he followed this path then he should not marry and he cant marry me now as he has gone far into spirituality.

Does spiritual studies tell us not to marry. I am myself following Naqshbandi Tariqat and i don’t know what has come to him,who made him think so..I am suffering each moment,He says Allah doesn’t want us to marry, how does he know it? Please help me what should i do now? I am left in such a situation that i have reached the peak of committing the suicide…Please pray for me and show me the real path. Tell me what should i do now?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,
Do not despair but trust in Allah Most High and persevere. The peak of spirituality is marriage between two pious persons and it is half of religion if not all of religion in our times. However, delaying marriage for over six months, not to mention 11 years, opens wide the door for the interference of shaytan and this is what happened. Recite x100 daily Hasbiya Allah wa ni`ma al-Wakil and x100 Ya Fattah ya Hafiz to the intention of reconciliation and marriage. The point he should know is that the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said that whoever shuns the Sunna of marriage is no longer his follower! And this is why Mawlana Shaykh Nazim emphasizes marriage and so many times said there is no spirituality whatsoever without it.

Dream: Flying in Masjid Nabawi

Dream:

Salaam,

I dreamed that I had a pair of metal wings attached to me and I was flying in Masjid Nabawi. I landed on an elevated white platform that was elevated high up though it doesn’t touch the ceiling. I was wearing a white dress and i was shy because i wasn’t wearing a headscarf. to my left, it was the women’s section, and in front of me was the mens section. the women in the women’s section was shocked i was in the mens section without a scarf. i was talking to the men, though they couldn’t look at me because i was high up on the white platform though the women could see. my bearded uncle was smiling and talking to me along with the other men. Please tell me what it meant. Thank you.

Interpretation:

Salam alaykum,

Seeing wings on oneself indicates leadership and goodness coming to you. Metal points to Surat al-Hadid, and Madina is where belief will retreat at the end of times. Not wearing a headscarf means safara in Arabic, which conveys the same message as (i) the wings, since the latter points to travel (safar); and (ii) the light of Madina, because safara also means to shine brightly.

Conquest of Byzantium

Question:

Dearest Shaykh,
I am studying history, and have been reading about the conquest of Byzantium, especially the venerable city of Constantinople – now Istanbul. For hundreds of years it was laid siege to by Muslims, a point of pride for conquest, and as such it seems that this city was unfairly conquered in the name of Islam. I was wondering if you could comment on this.
Yours,
[private]

Answer:

Constantinople will surely be conquered. What a most splendid leader is the leader of the army that does so, and most splendid is that army.”

Truth from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.

The geographic location of Constantinople symbolizes its identity as a “center,” for it is at the meeting place of two continents, as well as of the two seas known as the Black and the White (or Mediterranean). This city was founded as a center of Empire, or rather as a seat of the Emperor. Among the traditional designations of the Roman Emperor, the title Pontifex or “bridge-builder” suggests that it is only by virtue of the Imperial function that the city may realize its potential to unite dualities merely symbolized by the two lands and seas. Among these dualities, sacerdotal authority and temporal power were united in the Roman Emperor. The conversion of the Emperor Constantine to Christianity sealed the city’s destiny as a center of a Holy Roman Empire, and no doubt brought the promise of safety for its Christian subjects; yet this Christianization of the Imperial function carried with it a quandary. Since Jesus – peace be upon him – refused to embody, and thereby transmit, a royal function, a Christian emperor at the summit of society could not claim to represent the historical reality of Jesus alone. In other words, the emperor received his royal function by virtue of being Caesar, and Jesus had refused to unite what belonged to Caesar to what belongs to God.

The rise of Islam renewed on Earth a reality embodied most perfectly in the Seal of Prophets – peace and blessings be upon him – which is above the duality of spiritual authority and royal power. The conquest of Constantinople, however, was not immediate; but given the above prophecy, it should not be surprising that Muslims would strive to be included amongst those praised by the Most Praised One, peace and blessings be upon him. Only many centuries after the rise of Islam did the Ottomans appear, and with them the expansion of Muslim communities into lands long held by the Holy Roman Empire. The timing of this appearance may be understood in relation to the Tradition of the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him: “After me come caliphs, and after the caliphs come princes, and after princes there will be kings…” and the Ottomans clearly belong to the latter category. In a sense, then, the conquest of this imperial center was delayed until the rise of a Muslim ruler whose identity was suitably imperial. What is more, the duality of Christian and Muslim communities in the lands of the Romans demanded a Pontifex who could unite them, and a Christian ruler is ill suited for such a task, as the Crusades had proven.

It is generally recognized that the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople renewed the imperial city to a hitherto unknown glory, but it is less often understood to what degree the Ottoman ruler renewed the function of the Roman Caesar. By so doing, the Sultan united the allegiances of the Christian and Muslim communities; it is even likely that through this policy the survival of the Orthodox Church was ensured. At the same time, the Islamization of the Holy Roman Empire dispelled the quandary of the preceding centuries, since the imperial function was subsumed by a representative of the Seal of Prophets, in relation to whom the imperial function is but a proper shadow. In this connection, it may also be observed that unlike the Christian on the battlefield who does not follow the example of Jesus, peace be upon him, Muslim armies strove to follow the way of chivalry inherent to Islam and splendidly systematized by the Ottomans. It should perhaps also be recalled that the Ottomans did not rename the city “Istanbul,” a popular name of the city in Greek, although they affectionately knew it as “Islambul,” even while retaining the honored title of Constantinople. Historians have the responsibility to admit whether justice was better known before or after the conquest.

In the Islamic tradition, the conquest of Constantinople belongs to the signs of the Apocalypse; in Ottoman terms, it is related to the Prophecy of the Red Apple. Yet this Red Apple remained an apocalyptic hope of the Ottomans well after the conquest. Let it be remembered that according to Islamic tradition, the final victory against the Anti-Christ comes only with the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him, who returns to complete his providential role with his display of royal power. It is important, then, to recall the following message of Sultan ul-Awliya Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, may Allah sanctify his secret: “a new group is evolving until the coming of Jesus Christ. He has asked them to be called the ‘Legion of the Royal Kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth.’ He wants every real believer of Muslims and Christians to be servants of his Royal Kingdom, because it will be the Kingdom of Heavens on earth.”

So at the end of time, no less a cosmic duality than that of Heaven and earth is reconciled, and the allegiances of Christian and Muslim are again united. It is in this last respect that the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople may be seen to prefigure the return of Jesus, peace be upon him. In this light, one might well ask for whom such an event is “unfair.”

Dream: Choking on Long Hairs

Dream:

Asalam o Alaykum wRwB eshaykh team

I’ve had This dream on numerous occasions where I am choking and start pulling long strands of hair from inside my mouth/throat. Sometimes it snaps halfway, sometimes it gets stuck deep in the throat that leads to choking and can feel it said it’s going to snap. Other times it comes out endlessly and that’s metres of it. And if that’s not bad enough. More and more continues to come out. When I wake up it feels so real that I can feel the after effects for rest of the day.

Please can you shed some light into the meaning of my dream.

JazakAllah

Interpretation:

Alaykum Salam,

Fitnah

Question:

salamualkum shaykh . My question is regarding the various fitnas that are surrounding the Ahlu Sunnah , like the Wahabi fitnah many youngsters of the Ahlu Sunnah are deviating from the right path and move towards these fitnas .. this makes our iman weaker. What should we do to stop this and how should we preserve our iman? jazakallah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

There is nothing wrong to have normal relations with (even) non-Muslims who are good to us. But see what Qur’an tells us about those who mock at our faith in verse 5:57:

{O you who have attained to faith! Do not take for your friends such as mock at your faith and make a jest of it, but remain conscious of God, if you are truly believers.}

However, the best prescription on how to deal with Wahabi fitna is: stay away from them.
