Zikr without prayer

Question:

Salaam,
If a person performs zikr to Allah for 5-6 hours a day. And the person is doing this for years and years. The person does not pray the 5 daily prayers. Is the person with Shaitan, Iblis and jin?

Thank you :)

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,
Many might answer yes if they have heard of the Prophet Muhammad (upon him blessings and peace) and yet knowingly reject his way and the Divine command to pray as taught by him. However, perhaps that person has not heard of the Prophet yet, but they are striving to tame their ego and remember their Creator — like a monk or nun or devotee in other religions — in which case Allah Most High will guide him or her to truth if they are sincere. They might be in reality very close to Allah’s open door and it takes only a little push for them to reach a high level. Allah knows best who among His slaves is ultimately guided.

Dream: Spiders and Illuminati

Dream:

Assalam Aleykum
I would like to tell you about 2 dreams that i have had recently

First one i had was that I’m in a place where i see a large species of spiders on a big table. i cant remember properly but i think somebody is giving me a lecture on these spiders. as i walk around them i see that some of the spiders are very big and they frighten me a bit. one of the spiders that i remember is a tarantula but i don’t fear the tarantula.

The other dream i had was about the Illuminati sign. this dream gave me quite a scare. in this dream i see a triangle appear in a pitch black place and then the eye appears in the triangle.

Please can you interpret these dreams of mine.

Wassalam

Interpretation:

Alaykum as-Salam,
Sight of spiders in dream indicates need to renew good ties with spouse if married and be on one’s best behavior. If unmarried then it indicates need for repentance. Other dream signifies need to steer clear from the overpowering lure of the world (dunya) which fills the eyes to blind the heart.

Please Help, Homesickness

Question:

Asalam Alikum,
I am 15 years old and study in Singapore. However, my family lives in Indonesia.I live in a dorm in Singapore.Occasionally, I would feel homesick and miss my family. Are there any prayers for this? and please pray for me.

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,

When Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) stopped using the tree-stump as his pulpit, the tree-stump wept and moaned out of longing for him. This Prophetic miracle is known in the books of Sira as hanin al-jidh` or the “homesickness of the trunk.” After that the Prophet placed his blessed hand on it and it stopped moaning. That tree-trunk was given Paradise. Homesickness is a sign of belief, as the home of the believer is Paradise and nearness to Prophet, upon him blessings and peace. When you feel homesick, make wudu‘, pray two rakaat then sit and reflect on this incident and make this duaa often: Rabbana atina fil-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa-qina `adhaba al-nar. You may also make weekly dhikr with the Haqqani group in Singapore.

Prayer Request: Strengthen Iman

Request:

Assalamu Alaykum, I’m having doubts in Islam, subhanallah. As i started listening to all those atheists and science teachers at school, my faith became weaker. I hoped that this feeling(doubts) is going to go away but it is just getting worst. Sometimes when I hear an Islamic lecture it gets better but 2 days after as hear an scientific lecture my faith becomes weak and than I start having doubts. Sometimes i read scientific articles about universe which say that there is no God, then I start having greater doubts about existence of Allah, may Allah forgive me. And sometimes I read surahs or Islamic articles and sometimes they are confusing. One part of me is having doubts and the other part of me is pulling me towards Islam. So can u please tell me how to strengthen my Iman and please make dua asking Allah to strengthen my faith.

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.

Part of faith is to  avoid that which makes you doubt. Leave off science and technology in preference to Allah and His Prophet (s) and what they are bringing. Though we are taught we “must” go to university in order to achieve a degree and begin a career and that is the only way to succeed in life. This teaching is ingrained in us, that is in fact a false teaching designed to weaken our belief. Allah is The Provider, not the educational system, nor our careers.

As Mawlana Shaykh has often said, universities are only teaching unbelief. What benefit is there to a good dunya life, by learning something which is of no benefit to your akhira? Instead attend the “university” of our mashaykh at sufilive.com and in their many books and talks and your faith will increase, insha-Allah.

By this, I don’t advise you to drop out of school, but what I meant to tell you is, don’t take what they teach so seriously and certainly don’t run to listen to lectures that are not required by your school. Rather attend as a duty to achieve dunya matters but not as something you believe in.

A “Certain” Athiest

Question:

Hello dear sir,
I am writing you this with my best intentions this if i sound rude, please do accept my apologies in advance.  I have several questions for which i would like to have your answers if possible, my questions will be precise and specific, so please do not be evasive in your answers. Before i ask my questions I would like to say I am an atheist, i do not believe in any god and I certainly do not think Qur’an is a divine book, as it contains countless scientific and historic errors, not to mention how far from logic it is. Here are my questions:

1. Do you have any evidence for existence of any god, in particular of Allah?
2. Do you have any evidence for life after death?
3. More than one year ago, in one of the videos I saw a gentleman from your organization, making several bold predictions, many of which were proven to be false, completely and 100% (just an example, the democratic government in the UK did not fall and prince charles did not take power), so my question is why should I or anyone else give any credibility to someone who has been wrong to this extent?

I am certainly an atheist, but I  am always open to reasoning and evidence, if you provide satisfying answers, I am willing to change my stance, because truth matters the most. But if you do not have any answer to any of my mentioned questions, I would like to know why you deceive people in believing things which are obviously imaginary and far from truth. dear sir, i present you my best wishes and I am looking forward with impatience to your reply.
thank you and may truth prevail.

Answer:

1. The word for “world” in Arabic is “`aalam” which means “Big Sign” because the whole created universe — including every human being — is nothing but a gazillion signs all pointing to a single Creator. One is free, if they wish, to believe that all this mind-boggling design, infinite beauty, diversity, balance, etc. are all random or self-made, which is the height of illogical presumption.

2. As for life after death its reality can only be known in advance through the revelation of Prophets who spoke the truth — all 124,000 of them, the last one being Muhammad, upon him and them blessings and peace– and each finds out about it personally soon enough, when you give up your soul.

3. The timing of historical changes is not as you and I decide but it is up to the writer of history which is God. If something does not happen today, it might happen tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then maybe the next day or the next. Nevertheless, no one claims infallibility as only Prophets are infallible. What is best is to focus on priorities that are agreed upon, such as the certainty of death.

Help me please

Question:

Asalaamalaikum,
Since i was born my life has not been so good. Whatever I try to do,it always ends up in trouble. Still I am unable to find why my life is so bad. Sometimes I feel like Allah SWT hates me but I have got some visions in which saints like Abdul Qadir Gilani RA, kale shah Mastan RA have come and say that Allah SWT and his rasool SAW love you. I am confused. Please help me.

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,
Shaykh Abdul Qadir Gilani said that there is no one but they have experienced love in their lives. The difficulty is in remembering to give thanks. If we do, Allah Most High increases our goodness and changes our perception to see more how much He has blessed us and continues to. Recite Ya Lateef x100 daily.
