Dream: The Planet Earth

Dream:

Assalamu alaykum,
I dreamed the whole world was transferred to another atmosphere and it was not sure wether the sphere is suitable for the planet. The surrounding seemed to be cold and wet and there where just a few human beings who survived. It was a scarieng world. Whats the meaning of this dream. Sorry for my English

Interpretation:

Wa `alaykum as-Salam,

In Surat al-Anbiya’ Allah says in verse 105″...indeed the Earth will be inherited by My righteous servants“. Unfortunately most people have not prepared for their hereafter (akhira), so the image that only few people have survived the change in atmosphere, which represents coming big changes. Your concern with tariqah has brought to you this dream as a reminder of our greater purpose in life. We pray that we can go from the coldness and wetness of dunya to the warmth and nurture of Allah’s Love and Guidance.

Dream: Seeing the world from an aerial view.

Dream:

Dear Shaykh, Salams to you and your beloved well wishers,

Within the last year, I saw in a dream the world from outer space. Specifically, I saw the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia and surrounding area. There was huge white light coming from the London and surrounding areas, going all the way over the lands which are between UK and Saudi Arabia and the light came into the Hijaz region of Saudi Arabia.

Please can you say what this means? Thank you kindly.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam

Allah says in Surat al-Ahzab [aya-46] about our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, “and a light-giving beacon“. The light you saw represents the light of the Sunnah of the Prophet, Salla Allahu alayhi wa Salam, coming from people in the West as in the United Kingdom, and going to the East. This may have a general meaning as the spreading of Prophetic light from people in the West to people in the East. More specifically it may also represent these carriers of the Prophetic light going to visit the holy lands. Your witnessing to this light is a witness for you that you are blessed by this light as well. Insha’Allah you may soon see the source of this light. Ameen for all of us.

Is there a harm in having an addiction to something good for you?

Question:

Praise be to Allah and countless blessings upon his Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saws), his family and ummah, and all the awliya and guiders of this time and all times.

I thank Allah that there has been made for us murids a means of nearness to our Shaykhs and guidance of Allah via these many online websites. We are able to watch sohbats, read articles and books, and interact with one another in fellowship in ways we never could before. Alhamdullilah.

However, is it possible for an individual to get so caught up in their fervor for these blessings, that they spend a majority of their time watching sohbats and so forth, and end up neglecting certain responsibilities of life?

For instance, if someone is spending a good part of the day devoting themselves to Mawlana Nazim online but neglecting to get a job (if they are male) or taking care of the home (if they are female), are they blessed for their enormous devotion or are they disobedient because of the lack of “balance” in their lives?

Answer:

A`udhu Billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Allah praises this Community of Muhammad in Quran as being a “Balanced Community” Ummatan Wasatan. Therefore we should look for the balance in all affairs of our lives. between worship, sleep, and work our Shuyukh suggest a division of eight hours  for each:

  1. worship,
  2. sleep
  3. work.

Worship can include, dhikr, prayer, Quran, study, listening to sohbets, and time taking care of one’s family,. Working is 8 hours, and rest is 8.  If not balancing these three, one would be considered erratic and this would be blameworthy.

Past love

Question:

Assalamualaikum,

I hope you don’t mind me asking this, but is there any reward from god for people who have loved others i.e a man who once loved a woman or vice versa – when for reasons of goodness or uprightness in society the love between the couple goes unrequited an unconsumated as a result of which the man or the woman ends up marrying other life partners but sometimes beyond their control cannot help but think about their past love, although sadly it is by then in a sense ‘too late’

Jazakallahu, khair’un

Answer:

wa alaykum salam,

Whatever suffering an human being endures in this life is either, as Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani said, “It is either Allah’s raising your level by rewarding you for being patient or Allah cleaning of sins you made previously.” In either case the result should be considered a blessing.

As for the feeling “I missed something” we must keep in mind we never could have reached what was not written by Allah for us to reach and we could never have avoided what was written by Allah for us to encounter, so may Allah grant that we praise Him for all and keep patience through any difficulty.

Verily, if one is conscious of Him and patient in adversity behold, God does not fail to requite the doers of good! (Yusuf, 12:90)

This surah is a good reminder in that both Sayyidina Yusuf and his father Sayyidina Ya`qub, upon them be peace, suffered tremendously from separation from each other, and Zulaykha suffered all her life for her unrequited love to Sayyidina Yusuf, and only at the end were they all finally brought together. And that bringing together is a sign that what comes in the afterlife is far better and enduring.

Dream: Chain of Bracelets

Dream:

salaam
I had a similar dream before regarding a package from Hajjah Naziha.. I have recently had a similar dream… were I wake up in the morning recieved post .. a very small pakage saying my name on it from Hajjah Naziha.. wen I open it.. again I find a chain of bracelets… I start to pull them out but they dont seem to end, the packet was small but bracelet after bracelet was coming out…after a little while wen I took all the bracelets out the last 1 had my name and also had Hajjah Ruqayah and Hajjah Naziha on it… I then wake up. please advise jazakallah

Interpretation:

This is a very good dream. A package from Hajjah Naziha means a spiritual mesage.  The chain which never seems to end is the Naqshband Golden Chain, and it ends with Hajjah Naziha and Hajjah Ruqayya, indicating their father, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is the Seal of the Chain and the Sultan al-Awliya. Your name being with theirs shows you are accepted as Mawlana’s family as one of his spiritual daughters and that is a great blessing.

Dream: from 2002

Dream:

In my dream I was in this far away place and it seemed as though the earth was shaking and splitting but I was with Allah; so truly was I with Allah that I felt that I could have spoken to Allah and receive an answer in some way from Him. I was in such a high and dominant, overbearing state that Allah was with me and knowing and seeing and hearing all and everything that I did. My thoughts and feelings and hurts were all plain and unhidden from Him.
I was too afraid to speak to Him and just kept prostrating. In one of the parts of land, it split apart and here was something in the ground that I jumped in to retrieve.
Then I was sitting and watching people walk around, African people. Then I saw this tall African man who had to use crutches to walk, otherwise he would fall because he was so skinny his knees (which had wraps around them) could not support his weight.

Interpretation:

That is a very blessed dream and a sign that the state you achieved is Maqam al-Ihsan, the Station of Perfected Character, “to worship Allah as if you are seeing Him and if you do not see Him, then know that He sees you” from the famous hadith of Gibril (as). That is the goal of Tasawwuf, Sufism, and the ideal state. May Allah grant you to see that state in your waking life.

The shaking and earth splitting are what happens on the Last Day, as mentioned in Surat al-Zalzala, the Earthquake:

When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake
And the earth throws up her burdens (from within),
And man cries (distressed): ‘What is the matter with her?’
On that Day will she declare her tidings:
For that thy Lord will have given her inspiration.

Then you see the Africans, who represent the believers, for they are weak, and they are often servants, which is the believer’s goal, to be a servant of Allah. The tall man’s knees being wrapped, indicate the pain from his incessant worship, for the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to pray so much at night that his feet would become swollen, and his wife Sayyida `Ayesha asked him “why do you worship so much when Allah has forgiven your former and latter sins (meaning ‘you are pure, perfect and sinless’)?” to which the Prophet (s) replied, “ala akuna `abdan shakura – should I not be a thankful servant.” So this is a sign that you are on the way of thankfulness, and that Allah is granting  you for that more and more, as He said:

لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ

Wa la in shakartum la-azeedanakum
If you thank Me, I will give you more.
(14:7)

Sayyedi I have been married since the age of 16, I did not want to get married to my cousin but my father said he wanted to see me get married before he passes away, as he was very ill for the honour of my father I married my cousin, I have not felt no attraction to her at all, my family have been pushing me to get on well with her after arguements and problems over the course of 18 year’s I have endured this, as I have 4 kids and my sister is married to her brother,so I am stuck as there is no way out. I am confused as I still feel no attraction or love for her, we have seperated and come back after family pushing us to be together, I can’t think of divorce as my sister would get divorced and I don’t want that, Moulana pls advice me what to do as i want to have a good enviroment at home to love and be loved so we have harmony as a family, and be strong in iman for all the family….may Allah subhana wa ta ‘ala raise your’s and his eminence Moulana Shaykh Nazim rank billion trillon times , I did not wish to burden you, I am just so fustrated, pls advise me.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Grandshaykh Abdullah relayed this story once that there was this great wali in Damascus who one day got very tired of his murids always complaining about their spouses, their job, their health, and money problems. He sat them all in a circle and told them to each write their biggest complaint in life on a piece of paper and place it in this bag altogether. He shooke the bag and then went around the circle and told the murids to pick a new problem out of the bag. The murids were shocked! No one wanted to pick a problem they didn’t know, what if it was WORSE than their current problem?

The moral is that we need to be content with what Allah has given us. If we are content, Allah will send us the reeh as-siba (breeze of support) and happiness because we surrendered to His will. Treat your wife with kindness; be good to one another and look to your Lord and his awliya for love and adoration. That is best for you.

Significance of movements during Hadrah?

Question:

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon his Holy Prophet (saws); and may all the friends of Allah be blessed with infinite wisdoms and rewards.

Dear Shaykh, if you could please enlighten us as to the significance and history of the movements we make during a hadrah, specifically the bowing movements and the raising and lowering of our arms in rhythm to the music.

Also, are we allowed to move in a different manner than what is typical if we feel more comfortable doing so? Please educate us on the blessings or gains we receive from hadrah, and what we should or should not do during one, and anything else that can be shared with us about the practice.

Answer:

See the answer “hadrah

Sunnah foods

Question:

Asalaam alaikum Saidi MSH.

I was very recently unwell due to my diet and fluid intake. This led to a lot of digestive system problems and made me feel weak. What are the best foods to have to increase strength, improve our spiritual beings and to avoid such problems as I have just had based on the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) and Mawlana shaykh Nazim(Q)?

Jazakallah:)

Answer:

As Salamu `alaykum,

May Allah grant you good health. All our success originates from sound belief and to accept, love, and obey our Creator. The Quran says  ” eat from your Lord’s provision and thank Him, a good village and a forgiving Lord”(34:15) “Eat and drink and do not waste” (7:31) and “..made lawful for you are the good things...” (5:4).

Therefore the way to spiritual success and bodily health is based on obeying our Creator and having purity of thought, no junk, and purity of food, no junk. Eat in moderation, natural halal foods, leave one-third of the stomach empty to improve digestion, eat only when needed, for example when hungry or to sustain a long day of work. Avoid as possible food additives and preservatives, and foods containing highly processed products not found in nature. Remember to thank Allah as much as possible for His countless blessings on us.

Stay active, and if you still have health problems seek the advise of a wise medical practitioner.

May Allah grant us success. Ameen
