Marriage Without Parents’ Approval

Question:

assalamoalaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh respected Hajjah!

I wanted to discuss a very personal issue here. Actually I married a guy without letting my parents know about it because he is not very well off financially and my parents would have never approved of him. But now I don’t want to keep this relationship hidden anymore. But I also do not wish to hurt my parents by telling them that I did nikah without telling them. So me and my husband have decided that his family will ask for my hand in marriage from my parents. But since I know my parents wont accept him so can you please tell me about any special wazaif which I can do so that my parents accept his proposal happily? I will be extremely grateful as I am in very much distress. I can’t leave my husband nor do I want to hurt my parents. Please help me out.

Answer:

As-salaam `alaykum,
Sorry for the delay, we were having technical difficulties. Plus we are overseas. You need to recite Hasbun-Allah wa ni’ma ‘l-wakeel 70,000 (Seventy thousand) times. You do not have to do this in one shot, you can take as long as you need. One week, ten days ect. After you finish 70,000 you must pray two ra`kats, and after the two rak`ats recite Bismillah r-Rahman r-Raheem 100 times. Then make a du`a for what you’re asking for.

Forced Marriage

Question:

salaam,

What would your advice be on someone who is emotionally being abused into a marriage, and she doesn’t really want to marry the guy? Could she leave her family?

Answer:

wa`alaikum as-salam,
The Islamic legal ruling is as such: the girl must be asked and she has the right to accept or  refuse to get married to a certain man.

When Sayyidina Ali (r) asked the Prophet (s) to marry Sayyidatina Fatima (r), the Prophet (s) asked Sayyidatina Fatima (r) if she accepts to marry Sayyidina Ali (r).

Wish you the best,

Hajjah Naziha

Weight Control

Question:

Salaam alaykum,

I have been wondering that is there any advice for weight control in Islam? I would be happy to get advices and hints on this subject, inshaAllah

Wa salaam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

1) Drink water before you eat.

2) Eat twice daily: Once in the morning and a late lunch in the afternoon.

3) Eat normally.

4) Snack on fruits or vegetables only.

5) Islamicly it is advised not to fill the stomach at your meal. Balance the stomach with 1/3 water, 1/3 food and 1/3 air.

Following these recommendations is a good way to take care of your health.

Also be sure to consult your personal physician before undertaking any changes in diet.

Putting a Pet to ‘Sleep’?

Question:

Dear Hajjah Naziha

As salam alaykum wa rahatmullah wa barakatuh,
May Allah Bless you and your family endlessly for all you do for us. I hope this is not a silly question. I have a cat who is 15 years old. She has had a skin disease that she keeps scratching till it bleeds. It is an open wound around her ear, and it is spreading. It has been 2 months and it has not improved. I don’t know if she is in pain but I know it itches her. Is it better to put her to sleep, or is that against Islam to kill her.
Thank you, and I am sorry for bothering you about this. But am confused about what to do.
May Allah give you a long , healthy, happy life.
All my Love and respect

Answer:

Islamicly, you can’t put your pet to sleep.
Let her die with Allah’s Will.

Blackseeds

Question:

Salaam alaykum,

I have heard that black seeds are very good for health.
How to use black seeds?

Wa salaam

Answer:

As-salam `alaikum.

Black seed is a blessed seed; in Arabic it is called habbat al-baraka. The Prophet `alayhi ‘s-salam advises that people eat it and use its oil as an ointment. Grind the seeds and mix with honey, have a teaspoon daily.
