Dream: Taking Shahadah

Dream:

Assalamualaykum,

I am eleven years old and last night I dreamt that my best friends parents (non-muslims) wanted to go for Umrah.
I told the dad that he would have to take shahadah before he could go to Mecca.
Then he said that he and his wife would take Shahadah because they really wanted to go and then I told him what to say and then they took shahadah and then the dream ended. The dad took the shahdah eagerly and the mom reluctantly.

Thank you for interpreting my dream. My best friend also eleven has confided in me that she wants to be Muslim to see what its like.

Interpretation:

wa ‘alay kum salam,

Your friend’s soul, represented by the father, is eager to take shahada, while her nafs, represented by the mother, is holding back. Insha-Allah with the baraka of our mashaykh and your du`a and seeing the excellent example of good conduct in you, she will enter Islam, and perhaps her parents will follow suit.

and Allah knows best,

Dream: 4 rivers

Dream:

As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah Ya Shuyukh

The dream if my brother’s who is unable to access eShaykh himself.
He dreamt:
1) He was at a waterfall the water had a whitish colour perhaps due to the force it was cascading down with, and there was a hook in the water which he was able to remove.

2) He was on a bridge the ends of which he could not see, he looked at what he was standing on it was a kind of white powdery substance of a very light texture, a handful of which he picked up. The bridge was over a structure, which was receiving/emanating/being moulded by great power and from which came out 4 rivers.

3) He was at some gates, they were opened from the inside and he entered a garden although he felt some fear on entering.

Jazakum Ullah bi al-Khair
Madad Ya Awliyallah

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

The dreams are apparently of akhira:

{(Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord…} (47:150)

And Allah knows best.

Did Prophet Elias drink from the spring?

Question:

Is Prophet Elias the same person who drank from the spring of eternal life together with Sayyidina Khider a.s.? We know much about Sayyidina Khider after he drank from the spring but not about Sayyidina Elias.

Can someone please enlighten me about Sayyidina Elias’s life after he drank from the spring with Khider.

Answer:

The close association between Sayydina al-Khidr and Sayyidina Ilyas – peace be upon them – persisted in the popular imagination long after the events at the Spring of Life. In Ottoman times, the names of these prophets were conjoined in the name of the Spring festival of Hidrellez, and it was believed that the two met every year during the rites of the Pilgrimage.

According to Hajjah Anne – may Allah sanctify her secret! – there are four prophets still alive: two on Earth, al-Khidr and Ilyas, and two in Heaven, Idris and `Isa, peace be upon them all. This teaching, and the relation of how the two on Earth prayed to receive the Fatiha from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), are from the Sohbats of Hajja Anne from 2004. She continues:

“…Muhammad (s) gave them Fatiha and they were content. They raised their hands to ask Allah to take them in death now that their prayer had been answered. But the Prophet Muhammad (s) put his hand over their mouths and asked them to stay. He said his ummah is so weak they need all the help they can get. So Ilyas (a.s.) became protector over the sea (bahr) and Khidr (a.s.) over the earth (barra).”

The Shaykh al-akbar Muhyiddin Ibn `Arabi – may Allah sanctify his secret – identifies the four ever-living prophets as the Awtad or “Stakes” at the summit of the saintly hierarchy. More specifically, Idris is the Pole (Qutb) of the cosmos, and assisting him are the two Imams, Ilyas and `Isa, peace be upon them. All the saints of the Muhammadan Community who serve in these positions during their holy lives in this world are therefore deputies of these prophets. Shaykh Muhyiddin reveals more concerning the Awtad, including their initiatory names and their duties, and how their positions correspond to the corners of the Holy House. Here it is relevant to consider that the Imam of the Left is known as the “Sword of the Pole” with responsibility over the well-being of the world, whereas the Imam of the Right is concerned solely with the World of the Spirits.

It is therefore possible to identify an “Eliatic Function” at work in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In the Gospel of Matthew, for example, Jesus mentions Ilyas – peace be upon them – in the context of the apocalypse: “Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.” This “function” that prepares the return of `Isa may therefore be compared with the anticipated role of the Lord of Time al-Mahdi – peace be upon him – described in the Traditions. The great European Hermeticist known as Paracelsus foretold the appearance of “Elias Artista” in terms likewise comparable to those contained in these eschatological Traditions. To consider the perspective of Hermeticism is far from frivolous here, given that Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani recently explained mysteries relating to the Pole and the Imamayn in terms explicitly Hermetic on this very forum (see the post entitled “role of qutb?”).

In his role as helper, Sayyidina Ilyas – peace be upon him – appears in accounts of the heroic saints of Islam, as in the Saltukname, and his help is not restricted to the sea. For the myriad expressions of the “Eliatic function” in the context of the Hermetic symbolism of the greatest novel of the Last Days, see Alchemy in Middle-earth.

And Allah and His Prophet and His Knowers know best!

Disparaging the Prophet SAW and Sunni unity

Question:

As-salamu ‘alaykum,

If the Deobandis are disseminating “ugly, innovated expressions and concepts that are rightly deemed as tantamount to disparaging the Holy Prophet Muhammad, upon him blessings and peace” – as stated here: https://eshaykh.com/doctrine/deobandis-tabighis-wahhabis – then why is Shaykh Haddad calling for unity with them? Isn’t disparaging our Nabi the worst type of kufr?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Both native and non-native speakers of English should be able to understand the difference between something that “is X” and something that is “deemed as tantamount to X” and, for a student of religion, not to know the difference is inexcusable. To clarify, while disparaging our Nabi (upon him blessings and peace) is apostasy (ridda) and unbelief (kufr) without need for further proof, something deemed as kufr is in need of proof, even more so something deemed as tantamount to kufr.

Furthermore, the principal clause in which is found the phrase of mine you are quoting begins with the words “certain grave errors have crept in” so already there is an excuse that we can and must add to the two remotes I already mentioned above, namely, that the offenses were slips. ( I hope the language used here is clear and that it will not give rise to more inflammatory over-simplifications!) Our righteous predecessors said there is a big difference between those that aimed to do good and missed their target on the one hand and, on the other, those that aimed to do evil and succeeded.

Our belief is that here the culprits in those grave errors belong to the first category, i.e. those that aimed to do good and missed their target; even if their successors and followers now appear to defend them more out of partisan fanaticism (hamiyya) than purely religious motives, and Allah knows best. For example, when I asked one of our hadith teachers Dr. Abu al-Layth al-Khayrabadi of Deoband at his university in Kuala Lumpur whether he agreed that the infamous statements in Taqwiyatul Iman and Hifzul Iman were deserving of blame and condemnation he said yes; when I asked him why such statements were still supported, defended, translated and taught he said: “They [Deobandis] hate to speak against their Elders (Akabir).”

Finally, we focus on the errors themselves, contrary to those who over-simplify the offenses – whether innocently or by design, Allah knows best – in order to generalize them because they lust to apply the sword to an entire school, also out of hamiyya. And that is the endemic disease plaguing us today without doubt, straight out of Jahiliyya. Allah is our refuge from perdition.

where are the creatures (human) will?

Question:

Assalaamualaykum

Forgive me, I have this thoughts in my mind for about 1 year.
Where are the creatures will? If there are Allah’s will, so where are the creatures (human) will? If someone do the bad things, although he tried not to, but finally he can not avoid to do bad things, is that also Allah’s will? Or is it because the ignorance of that person?

I feel ashamed, because I most of the time keep falling to my ego, my nafs. I feel ashamed too, because my tests are nothing compare to anbiya wal mursaleen.
And the worst, I am complaining about my tests. I am afraid, I am a very weak person afraid that I am not ready yet.

Please pray for me sayyidi, pray so I can keep Allah in my heart. Nor the ego, or nafs.

Wassalaamu’alaykum

Answer:

Wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah, Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you. There is a similar question on Pre-destination that you may read.

Step by Step Progress

Our method is the method of step by step progress to a noble goal. And if you can act upon even 1% of all the practices that are recommended, it is alright, but 0% is no good. 100% is for saints, but as we are beginners, 1% is alright for us. We must try our best to ensure that we take our first step — even if it be a small and hesitant one.

Using the Will Power

We have been given one of the Divine Attributes: the will power. It has not been granted to any other creature. It is a Divine Attribute, but He has granted a part of it, asking us to use it as much as possible.

Don’t think that your will is over His Will. Don’t forget that you are weak creatures. Don’t forget that you are servants. The servant’s will cannot be over his Lord’s Will. We have been given a will power, but for what? In our life we have goodness and badness; you can use your will for the goodness or the badness.

Your will is like the engine of a train. When it arrives to the station, or when it departs from it, it will give a sign of direction, and the track will stay opened. That is your will. You can choose between going to Madrid or to Valencia; it is your choice. But you must give the signal.

Make the sign if you want to go to the mosque or to the cathedral or to the synagogue. If you want to go to the university, the track towards the university will open. If you sign towards the bar, the theater, or the disco, there is where you will end. If you give and prepare a good signal, you will end to the terminal of the good people. Then don’t worry about your destiny. But if you go with the group of shaitans, you will finish in the cemetery, in prison, in the hospital, or in the mental house.

I am not teaching you these things that you already know. I am only activating your will power, your goodness, and your intention to follow the good ones, not shaitan and his fellows.

To Carry Difficulties Without Leaving the Practice

“There is an unchanging method in Islam,” says our Grandsheikh. “Whoever tries hard and carries difficulties in the way of Allah Almighty and His Prophet must be given his reward. While he is carrying his heavy load of worship and does not leave his practice, there may come, at any time, a private mercy for that servant, taking him from here and putting him in his station in the Divine Presence.”

A man once intended to go to Hijaz (area of Saudi Arabia containing the holy cities of Mecca and Medina). He loaded his supplies on his back and set out on foot. He walked as far as he could until his strength was used up, and he could go no further. And yet his intent remained alive. Do you think your Lord would leave His servant in the desert like that?

That man remained patient, though with no hope for himself and no power to help himself. At that time, Allah looked out for him; a private mercy opened for that servant. A camel appeared coming along that way. His Lord sent that servant to Hijaz.

This is our example. If a man carries difficulties for the sake of Allah, his Lord does not leave him. His Lord will pick up those difficulties and give that servant absolute rest and happiness. If a man asks for mercy without carrying difficulties, he is a man seeking wheat in the fall without planting or plowing in the spring. We must carry difficulties for our Lord, and then He will give us everything: endless enjoyment and happiness, eternally.

To Be Patient

Our Grandsheikh was saying about trials: every day they are coming afresh and the murid must be ready and careful each time for that trying, that his faith may become real faith. Everyone may improve his station. For one still under his ego’s rule, he will be tested by that which his ego will never like, from everything — family, friends, work, and neighbors — may come to you what you don’t like.

The way of development is the way of patience. There is no quick development. One must be agreeable to all happenings to and around himself. That is the sign of development, to endure people’s troubling you. It is not important to fly in the sky or to walk on the sea or to be seen in several places at once or to dream good dreams. Important in our way is to be patient, resisting every wave of evil like a mountain in a storm, not being pushed back. That is development. Or like the ocean, not becoming dirty from the rivers pouring into it. People with extraordinary powers may fly, but may in the end lose their faith when Iblis (shaitan) rushes on them. We must be able to endure every harm from everyone.

Our Grandsheikh says:

“We must be awakened for everything coming contrary to our liking and be ready to tolerate it. This is the real station of faith.”

Three times a day a Sheikh looks to his murids, but not with a looking to give them pleasure; instead, they are looking to send something to the murid that he will never like. Are you patient or giving up?

When you are patient, your heart is given satisfaction, and a light comes on your real eyes and is coming more faith. At each opportunity, you may advance or come down. This time is particularly filled up with unliked things, the world full of evils and devils.

The Prophet (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) said:

“To keep religion in this time is more difficult than to keep fire in one’s hand.”

We must be patient. Allah gives to those enduring unliked things endless reward. It is the way of real faith, like the way of Prophets and Awliya, to endure the badness of people.

Weak Resolve

Question:

Please advice me on how to decide to tackle issue of which school+mosque2 send my children. My health not good I’m dictated by my moods. I have two chldren who are not happy with current school. One goes to green/turban madrassa for a couple of years. I don’t want to send the other one because I don’t like some of their ways. No nice sufi/zikr orientated wholesome centre/mosque. It seems the affluent Muslims do well in this field. Alot of money has its benefits. Theres also no like-minded women’s Sufi circles that one can feed on positive/loving spirituality of other women that can inspire one to do a better job as a woman on the path+issues of motherhood. Some of us are looking for life-affirming/ non-judmental association where there is family void. Bruised/battered by life/caregivers you want at least have a family in Allah. Please pray that Allah sends us loving/positive/supportive/life-affirming/uplifting/non-judjmental people/friends in the way of Allah+that our own close ones are amongst those. jazakallah khair.

Answer:

The Power of Glorification To Cure Depression

Only glorifying the Lord can take the darkness away from your heart. It will dress you with lights in your heart.

If you do not feel like doing it in your home, then run to the countryside or to deserts or jungles, to silent places. Glorify Him and you will see that the depression will leave you quickly. It will run away from you and ask for help to be saved from you! That is the cure for depression.

You may be a Christian, a Jew, or a Muslim; you can glorify with any of the Holy Words which are in the Holy Books. You will find a cure quickly and will enjoy being alive. Sadness will escape. Nothing can disturb you. You will be protected by the lights of glorification.

O people, don’t waste your precious time with useless actions. Try to have something which will give you honor, glory, satisfaction, and contentment here and hereafter. That is if you like! If you don’t care, every curse will run on you; you will suffer.

Protect Your Heart

Protect your heart by glorifying. If you do not take care of that, so many devils will run to you and disturb you. Every one of them speaks in another way and will put a new sword through your heart. They will disturb you in every way and only escape by you glorifying. Don’t forget! If anyone would hear the beautiful sounds of the Angels who are glorifying the Lord in the Seven Heavens, they would fall down dead. That is how beautiful it is. May Allah let us hear. When Mehdi comes, our ears will be clean. Now, we have too much dirt locking our ears from hearing the sounds of the Angels glorifying the Lord in Heaven. Try to clean them from early morning until late at night. But instead, people put more and more dirt into their ears by listening to modern music, making them unable to hear.

At the time of dawn, some people can have the chance in the Night of Power to hear just one second of that Divine Sound.

It is a good advice for everyone to pray every morning before Fajr: “Subhannallah wa bi hamdihi, subhannallahi l-Azim, astaghfirullah . . .”

When you start doing such a glorification sincerely, you will not want to stop. Do this 100 times between sunnah and fard prayers in the morning. It will give you support. You soul will be happy and light. If someone wants the doors of Paradise to be opened for them, they should say, “Alhamdulillah.” If they want the doors of Hell to be closed for them, they may say, “Astaghfirullah.”
