Confusion about Ahadith

Question:

Assalamu Alayekum!

According to Sahi Muslim Book 19, Hadith 4352 and Sahi Bukhari Book 59,Vol. 5,Hadith 546 Imam Ali alaye hi salam did’nt want Hazrat Umar RaziAllah anhu to come to his home. And according to the tradition of Muslim,Umar RaziAllah anhu didn’t want Abu Bakar RaziAllah anhu to go there alone (apparently he feared that something unpleasant may happen) .Why was Ali alaye hi salam unwilling for Umar RaziAllah anhu to come and why Umar RaziAllah anhu was insisting upon to go there? And why didn’t Ali alaye hi salam gave oath of alliance for 6 months according to these narrations?

Will these narrations be categorized as weak ones?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

As the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) himself said when praising both of them, Abu Bakr was full of leniency and mercy while `Umar was uncompromising in the way of truth; hence `Ali preferred the former to come rather than the latter. The latter insisted on going because he had already visited them before, in Fatima’s lifetime, and warned al-Zubayr not to meet with `Ali again until he had given bay`a to Abu Bakr, which al-Zubayr then did. However, `Ali delayed it for the reason he gave in the reports you cite, and finally he decided to give it. Allah be well-pleased with all of them and may He occupy us with what is of concern to us and leave the rest, as the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) commanded in his sahih hadith: “Of the excellence of one’s Islam is to leave alone what is of no concern to him.” Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said this hadith is enough for all of one’s religion and all of one’s dunya and akhira.

Dream: Arafat

Dream:

Salaam,
I had a dream I was reading salah on the plains of Arafat however wasn’t in ihram. Whilst praying I could see the Kaaba although it was small. But it was clear. Could this mean anything?

I also often dream of snakes, but as they try to attack me I grab them and kill them.

Please advise on both dreams.

Muslimah Married to a non-Muslim

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh:

I’m hoping  the Shaykh can offer some advice that I can pass on to a friend.  A friend of mine, a Muslimah, became pregnant–and rather than have the child out-of-wedlock, married the non-Muslim father of her baby. She felt that was the best thing to do, rather than make things worse by having an abortion or raising the child without its father.

Her own father now basically considers her dead.  While I personally think she did the right thing in a bad situation–there are those Muslims who say that she is continuing to commit adultery because her marriage is not valid.

What advice would you have for this girl and her family? The baby is due soon–and the situation has brought great stress upon all involved.  We are all making du’a that one day the father of the baby will come to Islam, but other than that–what can we do?  Is she continuing to commit adultery by having married this man?  Should we encourage the father to have a relationship with his daughter, and new granddaughter–in hopes of keeping her within Islam and also doing dawa to the baby’s father?
Jazakh’Allah Khairun

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

In a hypothetical marriage between two Muslims if the man becomes an apostate the marriage contract (nikah) is automatically dissolved. Similarly, nikah does not take place between a Muslim woman and a non-Muslim man, it is intrisically invalid (batil) from the start, because it is missing one of its integrals (rukn, pl. arkan), namely for the groom to be Muslim. So such cohabitation is indeed fornication (zina) both before and after the state-issued civil marriage license.

We can say that “she did the right thing” from a secular perspective by making her relationship official; however, from the perspective of her own Islamic standards she has added one disastrous mistake on top of another. She will also be accountable on the Day of Resurrection about the rights of her own children to be born inside a valid nikah wedlock and be raised as Muslims. She should invite her partner to take shahada 24/7 and once he declares it sincerely then they can hold a proper nikah in sha Allah.

The Muslim father of the bride is not off the hook and has no right to “consider her dead.” He should take account of himself and check whether he has a living relationship with Allah Most High, Who is testing him severely through his daughter’s actions. If she had a blameless spiritual upbringing she would not suddenly wake up one day and decide to throw it all away. He should continue his relationship with her to stem her further alienation from the Divine good pleasure and as an avenue of guidance back to what is best for her and her children here and hereafter. And Allah knows best.

Dream: Getting Engaged

Dream:

I was in Mekkah after performing hajj and I saw in my dream that I am getting engaged.  I saw my both hands started twinkling like the moon and a very beautiful dupatta I’m wearing and  I’m wearing a white gold ring on my finger . It’s simple and  beautiful. Then  I heard a man’s voice he said you’re mine  then I  woke up and I was reciting Surat al Qhadr with a loud voice.

Interpretation:

Inshallah it is as you stated to be happily married soon.

Cheated on My Husband

Question:

How can i do kufara if i cheated on my husband and got pregnant by someone else? My husband said he forgive but i still want to do kufara.

Answer:

You breached your husband’s rights and honor by committing this awful sin. Repent, adhere to Hijab, make as much Istighfar as possible and do good deeds. Do not loose hope in Allah’s mercy, do not despair.

We would advise you to conceal your sin. Don’t inform anyone about it. The child legally belongs to your husband as he is the owner of the bed. “The child is for the bed.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
