Dream: Mawlana Sheykh Nazim has a baby

Dream:

Salam aleykoum, may Allah reward you all with endless blessings.

I dreamt this night that I visited a masjid which was looking like a Greek temple in the outside. There was Naqshbandi gathering inside with at least one sheikh of another order. There was someone dressed like a Mevlevi apart, sleeping. Sheikh Nazim was here to visit us and led a khatm. He suddenly was holding a baby boy and people said he just was a father again. He was often looking at me, but I felt like he was not satisfied with me, looking at me with insistance. In the end, we were gathering in front of the masjid to fight people of the government who wanted to burn the masjid for “security issues”. And before this, everywhere I was in my dream, there was someone reciting Qur’an.What does this mean insha Allah?

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

wa `alaykum salam,

Alhamdulillah, it is a nice dream of Allah’s House (mosque), Allah’s Book (Quran), and Allah’s Friends (awliya, shuyukh).  Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is always like a spiritual father to all of his murids.  Try to see what is causing the dissatisfaction you perceived.  And Allah knows best.

Dream: The final hour

Dream:

Asalamaualaikum wr wb,

Sometimes I have dreams about the final hour arriving. Usually a big tide of water coming over us and when I see it I recite the kalima. I also sometimes have dreams of me dying (not in the final hour) and again I recite the Kalima.

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

wa `alaykum salam,

Alhamdulillah, these are good dreams.  Keep renewing your iman with Kalima, and insha-Allah you will “die before you die” with your ego submitting before your physical death.

Can he take a loan with interest?

Question:

Salamaleikum dear Shayk Gibreel !

I want to humbly ask you for some advice concerning a brother’s situation.
He consulted a bank in Germany which agreed to grant him a loan. He wants to buy himself a house in Turkey and support his family with the money. He asks if it is permissible for him to take the loan even if it is connected to interests.
We hope you and your family are healthy and well and May Allah grant you more and more wisdom, knowledge and love to serve the ummah as one of the rightly guided scholars.

Asalamaleikumwarahmatullahwabarakatuhuuu

Your young brother, [private]

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

May Allah bless you and yours. Taking out a usurious loan is categorically prohibited and is the soul of riba [usury]. There will be no blessing in a house built with such income or in bodies fed with suht [haram]. Let him find pious Turkish business people who will advance him that loan instead.

How to grow out of chauvinism

Question:

Hajj Gibril Haddad answered to one of my questions “Male chauvinism is from Jahiliyya. Once you outgrow it you will be ready for marriage insha-Allah.” I’m not sure if I understood this answer correctly and how could I outgrow chauvinism?
I used to fast every day for a period of over one year maybe even two years but it didn’t help against my sexual hunger and I even was near of a collapse…so what else could I do?
Please pray for me

Answer:

Keep company with the Awliya. Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you insha-Allah.

Menses and fasting

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Warhmathullahi Wabarakathuhu!

I have a question about periods and Qadha fasting. I got my period on the 6th of August and took my Ghusl on the 11th of August after I was completely sure that my period had stopped.

Again, in the 17th (7 days after my Ghusl) I noticed blood stains that lasted for only a few hours. Since it is within the 15 day period, I know this is my Haiz. My question is: Should I do qadah fasts for the ones I fasted in between the 11th and the 17th?

Jazakallah khairan for all the help.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Since you were completely sure that your period stopped, you should treat these fleeting blood stains as spotting and therefore there is no make up fast incumbent on you for fasting those days and their fast is valid.

Difference between spirit and soul

Question:

Salam wa aleykum,

May I ask what is the difference between the spirit and the soul, as I see different references to them in some answers to questions on eshaykh?

JazakAllah wa khairan

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Nafs is used in the sense of ego, but can sometimes have the same sense as ruh or spirit, and is also lexically used to mean self as well as a human life. Ruh itself can have different meanings such as the spiritual reality/personality of a human being which we call soul, or the name of a major angel.

Tawwasul and Istighatha

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Sayyidi,

Thank you so greatly for making the book “Mafaheem yajib an tusahah” by as-Sayyid Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki available. I have read most of it and learned a lot. It certainly opened my eyes.

Sayyidi, forgive me for my ignorance, and my lack of Adab, for I have understood that the book mostly talks about tawwasul, and the Ulama are in consensus of it. Especially tawwasul through the Prophet.

Would it be possible to point me in a direction with regards to reading material related to Istighatha and its Adab, preferrably in Arabic?

Is Istighatha the same as saying “Ya Muhammad (SAW), Ya Abu Bakr, Ya Umar, Ya Uthman, Ya Hasan, Ya Hussein”? Or is this tawassul?

Many thanks, and appologies again for my many questions and lack of Adab.

Sincerely

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

According to our teachers and all the scholars we know and trust, istighatha and tawassul are one and the same thing.
Here are some reliable books on that topic by our teachers:
al-Wasila ila fahm haqiqat al-tawassul by Dr. Samer al-Nass
al-Is`ad fi jawaz al-tawassul wal-istimdad by Shaykh Abd al-Hadi Kharsa
al-Ajwibat al-ghaliya fi `aqidat al-fiqat al-najiya by Habib Zayn b. Sumayt
al-Tawassul bil-Anbiya’ wal-Salihin by Shaykh Hasan Qaribullah
al-Ifham wal-ifHam fi qadaya al-wasila wal-qubur by Shaykh Muhammad Zaki Ibrahim
Among the reliable books of the teachers of our teachers:
Shawahid al-Haqq by Shaykh Yusuf al-Nabhani
Bara’at al-Ash`ariyyin by Abu Hamid b. Marzuq [pen name for Shaykh Muhammad al-`Arabi al-Tubbani, Sayyid Muhammad b. `Alawi’s teacher]
Mahq al-taqawwul fi mas’alat al-tawassul by Shaykh Muhammad Zahid al-Kawthari
Among the realibale books of the earlier scholars:
Hawl al-tawassul wal-istighatha by Muhammad `Abid al-Sindi
Misbah al-zalam fil-mustaghithin bi-Khayr al-anam by al-Mazali al-Marrakishi

Request:

Assalamualaikum,
I would like to ask what kind of prayer or there’s something that I can do to open the heart of the man that I love so he can believe again in ‘marriage’ and to marry me… We’ve been together since 4 years…up and down…Once we did break up for about 8 months but then Allah brought us together again… Many things we’ve been trough together but it makes our relations getting stronger and mature since then…. I can feel it that he loves me, he even ask to have a child from me but when I’m talking about marriage there’s something that make his ego refusing about the idea of marriage…

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Recite Ya Wadud 100 times daily to your intention until the new Islamic year. If by then he has not proposed, it is time for you to move on.
