Question:
Assalamualaikum shaykh,
i want to ask about stonehenge of UK
who built this and for what reason (for pray?)
thanks
Answer:
Wa `alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullah.
There is no consensus as to the purpose of Stonehenge; moreover, the monument seems to have developed over a considerable period. Although the best record of the beliefs of its builders is none other than the enigmatic monument itself, it is important to remember that the more subtle clues to its purpose are not necessarily to be determined from its most material remains. In any case, the various theories about Stonehenge usually reveal more about its interpreters than about its real significance.
Still, its special character is clear, both in its comparison to other Megalithic sites as well as in the relocation of its bluestones from faraway Wales (these stones are to be distinguished from the so-callled Sarsen – or rather “Saracen” – stones). As with other stone “circles” – and there are very many in the United Kingdom – its general form imprints the land with the shape that symbolizes a higher order of existence, such as that of the World Soul. Its specific geometry appears, thanks to the work of John Michell, to be rather precise, and its arrangement in harmony with celestial phenomena is further evidence of a talismanic purpose at the very least.
The very real possibility exists that Stonehenge functioned as a ritual center. The Stuart master architect Inigo Jones even alluded to a correspondence of function with the Temple of Solomon, the focal point of Jerusalem as a sacred center. With this in mind, some remarks concerning the Holy Ka`ba may not be out of place. The cubical form of the structure in Mecca, of course, contrasts with the circle, but this contrast is due to the unique function of the Ka`ba. What is not generally recognized in its design is that the corners of the Holy House are not oriented to the points of the compass; in fact, the Ka`ba seems to be aligned in accordance with certain celestial phenomena, such as the rising of the star Canopus. This alignment is implied in traditions attributed to Ibn `Abbas and Hasan al-Basri. Be that as it may, to conclude from the astronomical alignments of Stonehenge that its sole purpose was to function as some kind of astronomical computer is obviously puerile.
The history of the Holy Ka`ba suggests another observation, that the history of Stonehenge probably includes the performance of rituals of varying character. After all, even the House of Allah was not spared the abomination of idolatry. Even though Stonehenge now appears as an empty shell, recent years have brought a renewed activity to its surrounding landscape, namely the phenomenon – both real and artificial – known as crop circles. Leaving aside the possible link between this phenomenon and the ancient siting of stone circles, it may at least be said that clues relating to the purpose of Stonehenge should not only be limited to evidence from the ancient past.

Question:
Assalamu’alaikum Ya Mawlana Syaikh Hisham,
What is the history of the vest and why we are wearing vest. Any secret behind the vest? Thank You Syaikh. Shukran Lillah.
Answer:
Wa `alaykum as-Salam wa rahmatullah,
The design of the vest frequently worn by the Shaykhs – with the distinctive shape at the shoulders – appears closest in form to the vest known as Haydariye. This terminology reveals an association with Sayyidina `Ali who is called Haydar, may Allah ennoble his face.
In Ottoman times this vest was distinctive of the Sufi brotherhoods. For the Bektashi Order – an order with special veneration for the Imams of the Holy Prophet’s Family – the shoulders symbolized the letter `ayn; at the front of the vest, two strands of seven crystal beads distinguished their Haydariye from its appearance in other brotherhoods, such as the Mevlevi Order.
To be aware of the Men of Allah is to follow their example, and so the wearing of the Haydariye becomes nothing other than a particular expression of the “libas ut-taqwa”:
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْءَاتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
{O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment (libas) of taqwa, that is best. This is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember.} (Surat al-`Araf, 7:26)

Salam alaykoum warahmatullah wa barakatuhu.
I have a problem. I stopped with masturbations since few month .But now, I have sexual desire at night, and I practise this gesture unconsciously only the night. Nevertheless I read Ayat ul Kursi, Surat Al nas, falaq AL Al ahad before to sleep… And I seek refuge with Allah against these desires . But they are always presents..
Please ,I will stop this desire ,because it’s like this all night !
Jazak Allahukhayran.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.
The best and only permanent solution is to marry. As Mawlana Shaykh Hisham has said in order to emphasize the importance of this Sunnah in our time, that where the Prophet (s) said “marriage is half of the faith”, marriage in our time “is all of the faith.” And that is because massive temptation is everywhere and it almost impossible to avoid or ignore.

Question:
Salam Shaykh Hisham Kabbani,
I am married to my husband with one kid and I am planning to buy a house soon. I am staying with my in-laws at the moment. The thing is, who shold I buy my house close to? My in-laws or my parents? Or to buy near my husband’s work place? Whichever that is best for my family’s ibadah & maintaining the relationship as a whole. Thank you Shaykh.
Salam
Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
This is an excellent question and may Allah Most High justify your intention and reward you. Your responsibility is to your husband, while his responsibility is to you, to his parents, and to his work. The best would be a place equidistant to your in-laws and your husband’s workplace, as that would bring him more support and peace of mind in meeting all of his responsibilities.

Question:
assalamu alaykum Shaykh Hisham
I’m a mureed of Shaykh Nazim. My question is I would like to do khatmu i-khwaajagan on Thursdays in my area but I went 3 years ago and I saw haram. I read in hidaya & durre mukhtar if you know there is going to be haram don’t go. So what should I do if I see actions against shariat? Should I say something but there would be fitna or should I be quiet but it would be as if I’m agreeing with them? Or should I leave and not go again? But if I heard Shaykh Nazim saying you should do khatmu i-khwaajagan what should I do? Hope you can answer me.
Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
Mawlana said to go to the Khatm; if we do not go because of X, Y and Z it means we assume that Mawlana either does not know about those negative elements, or he knows and he still wants us to attend. The correct assumption is the latter. Perhaps a chance will arise when we can gently correct what is wrong, or realize that we ourselves made a wrong judgment and that the wrong was unintentional or a one time thing. Mawlana in Cyprus, London etc. put up with much more than you and me. It is not “agreement” to bad actions to still attend, but rather agreement with Mawlana’s order together with sabr and jihad an-nafs. People in those gatherings are works in progress. They – and we also – make mistakes but sincerity, nasiha and Divine madad save us from our mistakes. Meanwhile we should not give up on the whole group, the Khatm, and Mawlana’s order, otherwise what chance does anybody have?
Try to balance all that you mentioned in a way that fulfills all obligations at the same time. Ask Allah Most High to give you hilm which means both wisdom and patience as well as softness and gentleness.
