Dream: My late father and Shaikh Hisham Kabbani

Dream:

My father passed away about 3 months ago. Last night I saw Shaikh Hisham sitting in the living room of our house back home in Bangladesh. I go upstairs to look for something but mistakenly try to open the tenant’s apartment. The tenant lady comes out complaining. I maintain my composure and enter the right apartment. The apt. has furniture but no one lives in it. Then I find my grandmother in that apartment. She is a bit disheveled with her clothing. Don’t remember if I am able to find the object I was looking for. Someone tells me we have visitors. I hurry back downstairs and find my father and his first cousin (also passed away) sitting in the living room. My father gives me the most loving hug. I am caressing his face while hugging him. I start crying and then wake up in tears.

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Alhamdulillah, the spirits of those who passed away in a good spiritual condition are free.  The fact that your father and cousin visited you in the dream is a good tiding of their state in akhira. Looking in the wrong apartment and seeing the angry woman and your disheveled grandmother shows a pursuit of dunya, and leaving spiritual endeavors.   Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani appeared in the dream to direct your spiritual journey through his door to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani and the Naqshbandi Golden Chain leading to the Holy Prophet (s). W’Allahu a`lam.

Grand Shaikh’s Du’a

Question:

Salaam alaikum,

I would like to know if there is anywhere I can find on the internet Grand Shaikh ‘Abdullah Faa’iz Daghastani rahmatullah alaih’s du’a mathoor (the grand supplication) in clear Arabic text with the harakaat on the individual huroof. Also what is the virtue of reading Hizb ul-Wiqaya, and should it be read daily (I read it daily after awrad). Jazakallah khair.

Answer:

`Alaykum salam
It is for protection, as its name states. Reciting it daily or whatever less frequency is fine.

Meaning of ALI, SHALAWAT OR SHALI

Question:

What is the meaning of ali in the following sentence : allahuma shali ala Muhammad wa ala ALI Muhammad wa salam? Why they do not use term bani, like bani Adam or bani Israil.
What is the the actual meaning of shali in the above sentence? Is it the same as shalawat, or shalat in shalat fardhu or shalat sunnah?

Answer:

Aal means household including wives and in-laws and therefore cannot be replaced by Banu, which means sons.

Also, “Aal Muhammad” is sometimes synonymous with Ahl al-Bayt which signifies Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib in the Shafi`i madhhab.

Furthermore, when we say in Salat “wa ‘ala Ali Muhammad” Imam al-Shafi`i said it means every believer.

Salawat from Allah means perfection, mercy, nearness and honor; and from the angels and human beings it means praise and magnification.

However, when we say Salatul Fard etc. the meaning of Salat here is the ritual prayer, and its literal meaning is du`a.

Salt

Question:

Bismillah wal hamdulillah wa la ilaha illa Allah wa Allahu Akbar

Sayyidi wa Mawlana Shaykh Hisham
and all those who are serving Them through this beautiful website:

as-Salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Can someone please speak to us about the hikmas (wisdoms) behind the Sunnah of eating salt before our meals? Also, what are other Sunnahs of eating & drinking that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim emphasizes? Specifically, I’ve heard that Prophet, salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallim, would only drink after his meal and I’ve also heard that he would only drink before. Which is correct or did he (saws) do both at different times? Would he (saws) ever drink during a meal?

Thank you for everything.

Answer:

`Alaykum assalam,
Salt is the king of spices and in Arabic medicine is said to lift or prevent 70 diseases. This and other beneficial properties are mentioned in some reports.
For the best work on Mawlana’s food etiquette see the wonderful book, “At the Table of an Ancient Master” by Shaykh Abdurrauf Felpete, Mawlana’s representative in Patagonia.
The Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) was invited with Abu Bakr and `Umar (Allah be well-pleased with them) on a day of famine inside someone’s garden property and they were brought a feast. Then some dates and, to finish, water. The Prophet then said: “this is the delight (na’eem) that you will be asked about”.
Blessings and peace on the Prophet, his Family, and all his Companions.

I recently had a dream regarding our Prophet saw. However he wasn’t actually present in it , but I was receiving orders from him from another person – a family member perhaps? The orders were to guard the left or right side of a castle I think.
Hope you can interpret this for me InshaAllah.
Lots of Love jazak – Allah

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Dream: Reciting Surah Fatiha in Prayers

Dream:

Assalam-alaikum, I was half asleep and half awake when I heard, who I think was an Imam leading the prayer and reciting Surah Fatiha. It was very clear, but I woke up before the surah could be completed. I didn’t see the Imam just heard it. It was around 3:30-3:40 a.m. Masha-Allah the voice was very nice. What does it mean? Thank you.

Interpretation:

a`udhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

wa `alaykum salam,

Surat al-Fatiha is recited for any need, as the Prophet (s) said, “The Fatiha is for what it is recited for.” Recite it for your needs and they will be fulfilled insha-Allah.

Worried about prayers

Question:

Assalamualaikum Mawlana Shaykh Hisham and all eshaykh staff, thank you for this very useful website.

I am worried about my daily prayers. I am often unsure about the validity of my wudu’ and this makes me worry that my prayers may not be valid. After prayers I often don’t feel good (I feel bad for even saying this) because I’m very uncertain about wudu’ and whether or not I broke it. I also feel very sinful because my focus when I pray is on the validity of wudu’ instead of sincerely focusing on worshipping ALLAH swt. Sometimes I repeat my prayers even though I have already done them because I don’t feel certain. This is causing me a lot of distress and weighs very heavily on my mind. I am very afraid that if my prayers are not valid, then I’m not fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam. Please help.

Answer:

Wa alaikum salam,

Bismillahi-r Rahmani-r Rahim

If you have done your best to perform you wudu and your prayers then there is nothing to worry about. Always thinking and worrying if your wudu is valid or your prayers are valid is wiswas which comes from Shaytan. Some scholars say that to beat it is by having knowledge and certainty. If you have studied the rules of wudu and what annuls it under the guidance of a good teacher, then you should be firm in implementing it . Wiswas is like a barking dog. It will bark and bark, but if you are not giving it any attention, it will get tired and stop.
It is one of the tricks of Shaytan to stop a servant from being close to his Lord. It will be good to recite the ta`awwudh:a`udhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem”  and also Surat an-Nas before you make wudu and your prayers.

May Allah guide us and save us by the barakah of Prophet (s).

Muhammad Razib
