Permission to Attract a “Cold-Hearted Person”

Aoa,
Sir, I was studying with a boy in our college and after one year we had feelings for each other..then due to our immaturity and egoism we broke up. He is indeed not a very good person, but its been 2 years since we have not talked to each other and after two years I still cannot forget him and due to this reason I cannot even marry anyone else as my feelings are very true. He is a cold hearted person. Is dua for Hazrat Daud (as) ok? If yes then please give me the exact and accurate dua.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

General permission has been granted, so there is no need for everyone to ask. Please see the response in this post. However, based on your description, it would be better to ask Allah to remove your feelings for him and allow you to move on. To that intention recite Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji`un 70x daily, instead of the du`a of Sayyidina Dawud (as).

Questioning Fatwa on Salat Behind Wahabi Imam

Please watch this video this person is a very known and big alim e deen of ahle Sunnat Wal Jamah Pakistan called Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah Sahab we respect him whole heartedly. He has explained why prayers are not valid behind a Wahabi imam please explain what should we do as I might go for Umrah in June and I’m very much confused if I should pray behing imam e Kabah or not please help. Jazak Allah khair

Answer:

We have posted the fatwa many, many times. If you do not want to follow it, you may follow the fatwa of Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah Sahab, no problem, and pray by yourself  on `umrah. There is no compulsion to follow any fatwa, and you are free to agree or disagree with any scholar’s opinion.

Second Marriage failed, Dreaming of MSN

Question:

Salaam
I been married twice but both failed miserably that I feel like killing myself. I was already bayah with a shaykh in Pakistan who passed away in 2009, and then Isaw Maulana Sheikh Nazim in my dream and did bayah on 1st of March,2012.
I saw Maulana Sheikh Nazim in my dream one day before divorce. Mauwlana was reciting Qur’an and I went to him and ask to touch his feet and massage because he looks tired. I asked Maulana to pray for me and he replied would you be able to stay in Cyprus if we fulfill your wish. I said yes. And then I saw Qur’an it wasn’t fixed at the base and I ask Maulana’s permission to fix it and when I saw it was Para 12, front page. Please interpret this dream for me. And also suggest me to read is it punishment or azmaish ?

Based on Mawlana’s generous response, it is not a punishment but support from Mawlana’s side for your decision. Fixing the Quran to a base means due to your baya` you will become attached to the Holy Qur’an and obedience to Allah swt and His Prophet (s) and will insha-Allah fulfill your spiritual goals.

Praying for love interest

Question:

AS/AK,
Yesterday I read somewhere that praying to marry a particular person is totally haraam in Islam (as it comes in the category of black magic)… I want to ask is it wrong to pray to marry someone one u like , the other person also likes you, if the istekhara results are positive for this nikah, if both the persons have never even met each other,maintained the limits and like each other on the basis of religion, good nature and simplicity…Is it wrong to ask Allah for someone you love while there is no greed or any other vice in your heart?
Please give me a satisfying answer. I’m very frustrated as now I don’t even understand whether i should pray or not…. how to convince my parents in a peaceful way…. Jazak Allah … khair..

Who gave that foolish fatwa? How can praying to Allah for something, whether general or specific, be considered “black magic”?! Prayer is the ultimate expression of submission and weakness before Allah’s Omnipotent Greatness and Power.

يا غلام، إني معلمك كلمات إذا سألت فاسئل الله، يا غلام، إني معلمك كلمات: إذا سألت فاسئل الله، وإذا استعنت فاستعن بالله

Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said to `Abdullah ibn `Abbas (r), “I am teaching you some words: O my son, if you are going to ask something, ask from Allah and if you are going to seek help for something seek it from Allah.”

Sufi Dancing

Why Sufi dance and sing in the mosque? Did prophet Mohammed also dance and sing in the mosque? can you put hadeeth or ayah from Qur’an reference please. I’m confused about this.

Prayer Request: When does the hurt stop?

Question:

I am [private] year old woman. It has been one year since I said goodbye to a man I loved who was not Muslim and he could not become Muslim. I waited my entire life to get married and have children. I live in a non-Muslim country. After so many years of being alone, this kind,loving man came into my life but I had to say goodbye. I have never received an interest from a Muslim man, and my family does not help me.
Shaykh, when do I stop hurting? It has been one year, but I still hurt inside, I still cry, I still feel sad and lonely. When will the hurt stop??? Please, I’ve tried everything, every dua imaginable.

Recite: Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji`un 70x daily to ease the burden.

Recite Allahuma  ‘kfinee bi-halalik `an haramik w’aghninee bi-fadlika `amman siwak 70x daily to seek a halal marriage. Perhaps Allah will open his heart to Islam.

Is Advice on eshaykh.com Generally Applicable?

My question is that people write their problems on eshaykh and the team gives them something to read or follow if someone else has the same problem can they read and follow that solution.

Prayer Request: Theory Test

I am gonna be taking my theory and driving test. Is there anything that I can read to pass both of the test.

Women Murids, Jummah Prayer

Question:

Assalamu Alikum,
 In reference to going to Jummah Prayer are ladies permitted to go to Jummah Prayer, if so do we add four rakata‘s after Jummah prayer for fard Zhur prayer? Also, if Jummah prayer is done at an office building do we still do 2 rakats before the Jummah Prayer starts or do we proceed in Jummah Prayer, then do 4 rakat fard for Zhur prayer and four sunnah?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Muslim men are more deserving to offer Jum’ah prayer. If women are taking space of men intending to offer Jum’ah prayer then they should pray at home.

If they happen to be offering this weekly prayer in a Jama’ah, they are to add four rak’ats of Zuhr prayer just like men. We are not obligated to offer two rak’ats of ‘Tahiyyatul-Masjid’ in an office building.
