Elaborate on “dripping”

Question:

Salams,
In this question, Mawlana says “Then after you finish going where you are going, you can renew your wudu. However, you have to be careful. If anything drips, then you know what you have to do.”

My wife and I are very confused to what this “dripping” means. Does this mean we have to make ghusl, even if we don’t actually have intercourse or climax? There are fluids that drip out before intercourse, but we are not sure what we have to do. Please elaborate.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
Ghusl is made obligatory by emergence of semen during orgasm (sexual gratification). If semen emerges without pleasure, only wudu‘ is made obligatory.

Dream: Tawaf at Kaaba

Dream:

Assalam u alaykum,

I was with some people looking at a global map of the east, and there was a circle in white light all around the Asian continent, and I came up and spoted that it was a plot to attack all Asian countries. Everyone was alerted. Then went straight to Kaaba where I did the tawaf. I was saying in labaikallah oumalabaik then a fountain appeared in the place of Kaaba. I turned and looked on the side and saw people drinking zam zam water.

When I woke up it was 20mins from Fajr but i felt very thirsty. I didn’t drink water, but instead I conducted by ablution, prayed Fajr prayer then went to the mosque for sobh.

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa`alaykum salam,
This dream can mean that you fear that the people who face east (Christianity) are plotting to make everyone to be Christian, so you ran to the Ka`bah (monotheism) and drank zam zam to make sure to never believe in more than one God. Mashallah, it is a good dream.

And Allah knows best.

Converts & Keeping the Peace with Family

Question:

Salam aleykoum wrwb respected Shaykhs and Scholars,

My question is about Muslim converts. Since keeping family ties and good family relations are very important in Islam (I’m assuming this means the extended family as well- cousins, aunts, uncles, etc), do you have any advice for converts trying to follow their new faith yet facing opposition from their family? Many converts end up having to completely cut off from their family to protect their faith, while others must completely hide their Islam in order to keep ties. How can one find balance; making their family happy and staying close to loved ones, yet staying firmly rooted and committed to following the principles of Islam?
Baraka lawfikum

We hope to become sincere servants of Allah Almighty and Sayiddina Muhammad (s) and of our Sheikhs.

Answer:

Wa`alaykumussalam,

Family ties cannot be broken. Should you be staying with your family, respect their beliefs while you keep your faith. You are still family to them, and the only difference Islam makes you is that you’ve become a better person. Remember that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) and his companions faced tremendous hardship and opposition, but they did not react to them but prayed to Allah for His protection and love.

Dream: Sahabas (ra) in Mecca

Dream:

Asalaam ula Kum, I had two dreams which I have been very confused about. In the first I had a dream I was in Mecca and wasn’t wearing the correct clothing to perform umrah so I wanted to go out of the city to change and the next thing I know is I am at the grave of a Sahaba (ra), and some how I hear  or read on there stone that to be protected I should come into their grave. Then I have no memory of anything but me and my friend holding either their or someone else’s coffin.

Interpretation:

a`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa `alaykum salaam,
This dream can mean that you are doing something that is not correct and you should learn how to do it from learning how the Sahaba did it, with your friend you are going to learn from their knowledge represented by holding on the coffin.

And Allah knows best.

Dream: Who is he?

Dream:

assalamualykum,
I am going through some tough times since I explained about the dream about the guy I met who is wearing white and entered my home and everyone loves him and he gave me a gift and mum smiles. I do not know what it means to me, I find it so hard to get away from him in my waking life, because in reality my parents do not allow us to marry just anyone, he has to be a cousin. But I dreamt that both my cousins proposed to me and I said no. Then I dreamed of another man who I’ve probably never seen nor spoken to. He was the only one I said yes to, and all three or four who proposed to me did it on the field.
Please explain this to me. May Allah bless you all with happiness.

Interpretation:

a`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

wa `alaykum salam,
This dream can mean that you should marry outside the cousins who can have a blood kind that can be dangerous for the kids to come.

And Allah knows best.

Question:

Is it permissible for a husband to satisfy his wife by caressing her vagina and putting fingers until she gets aroused? Likewise is it permissible for a wife to give pleasure to her husband by just caressing his penis? Is it permissible to give pleasure to your spouses without ingesting the fluid?

Please clarify my doubt.

Hajj vs. Nikah

Question:

Salam ‘alayk ya Shaykh,
I have known a guy for about 5 years. He is in the early 30s. We did not talk over the phone (just sms-ing every now and then), and meet once in a month or two, as we are trying follow the Shari’ah law in relationships. About a year ago, he told me that he has the intention to marry me. We have started saving up for marriage. However, just recently he brought up an idea of performing Haj in year 2015. At my age now (late 20s), it makes me uncomfortable.

My question is: When it comes to deciding to perform hajj versus marriage (sunnah), which one should a person choose?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
If you both fear committing sins while delaying marriage, you should marry right away. If your fiancee can control his sexual desires, his hajj becomes obligatory right away. There is no justification for him to delay his hajj for 2015 by prolonging marriage. If you are in a dilemma concerning which one to do first – Hajj this year first and then marriage right away.
