The question came regarding whether the story of Owais al-Qarni breaking his teeth out of love for the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) is true or not. I haven’t found it in the primary sources nor hadith commentaries nor biographical accounts, but could you suggest any books that I should search further in? I’m not sure where the Arabic source for such an account is.

“Know that what became famous on the tongues of the general public that Uways pulled out all his teeth out of extreme sorrow when he heard that the tooth of the Messenger of Allah (upon him blessings and peace) had been harmed in the Battle of Uhud – and he did not know what tooth for sure – is baseless according to the scholars; not to mention that it contravenes the pristine Law, hence none of the great Companions did it, although it suffices that such an act is abuse which only fools commit.”

Assalamualaikum to Shaykh and all staff
Is it possible for shaytan to appear to somebody in the form of a shaykh, trying to convince him that he is his teacher?
The reason i am asking this is that I have heard my brother angerly cursing and saying YOU ARE NOT SHAYKHS, YOU ARE SHAYTANS. If such a thing is happening to him what would be the reason they try to come as shaykhs rather then just attack him? We hear him curse many times even when nobody is in the room with him. Not angry at anybody in the house, just at whatever seems to give him a very hard time which we don’t see. He thinks it’s evil jinns. thank you

As me and my family are going for Hajj for 25 days I need guidance as to what females should do when they get their periods during these 25 days. Is it advisable to take pills to stop periods? I also want to know as I did take pills once before when I went for Umrah after which my periods became very irregular.

1) Why the terrorist (eg. Al-Qaeda & Taliban) think killing innocent people is right eventhough it is clear that it is haram to kill innocent people eventhough they are non-Muslims?
2) In prior to the events of 9/11, the views of the Americans and others on Islam changed showing Islam as a violent and merciless religion. They even make a phobia for Islam, Islamphobia. Is there any sayings of Maulana Shaykh Nazim (ق) in the topic of 9/11?

Assalam aleykum,
I am very worried. On the 15th of Ramadan a very brave young muslima was imprisoned for writing poems accusing the regime that torments her people. She was sentenced to 5 years of prison and I heard that the prisons of her country – Iran – are places of evil torture. I don’t know her personally, but she is the only person on this earth I can look into the eyes and feel like sinking in a deep ocean where I can easily give up my ego.
I beg you, please pray for her safety. I would rather let myself be shattered into a million pieces than letting her being hurt by anybody. She is the voice of hope of many muslims and one of the bravest women living.

Salaam. I am a young girl. I live wif my mum and sister and brother in law. Recently my brother and his seperated wife (6 months of separation) moved into our place.
He had told me before they moved in that a moulana said it would be haraam for them to get back together even if for the sake of their child. But living wif them has become a nightmare. Every weekend they are fighting like animals and involve my poor mother wif their problems. They drag her into everything.
I hate living like this. Our lives were always peaceful. I cannot handle this anymore. I’m going through a depression and even contemplating suicide.
I ask, what can I do? Please pray for me. :(

You need to seek help right away. You cannot keep such feelings bottled up. Talk with a family member, friend and/or counselor and get your feelings off your chest. As well, let your mother know how dangerous this situation has become.
