Prayer Request: No desire to do anything

Request:

Assalamu wa alaykum ya Mawlana!

I do not know what’s wrong with me, I have no desire to do anything, I know I need to study and work but living with sleep and headaches, when they step into the doctor as they neurologist says I have nothing and I’m really worried because I seem to have a sloth that can not get rid of it the more I fight. Please pray for me.

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

That is our normal circumstance, our ego loves to “rest”. The only way to oppose it, and this advice applies to me first, is by sleeping early, waking early, and doing all five prayers on their early time. In particular if you get up before Fajr for Qiyam al-Layl, Night Vigil, you will wake up later much more refreshed and ready to tackle whatever the day “throws” at you.

Shaykh  Hisham will pray for you insha-Allah.

Dream: Dream of Prophet (saw)

Dream:

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu.

May Allah bless Sultan ul Awliya (q) and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani(q). I am now 50 years old. At the age of 16 yrs, I dream that I entered a tunnel and I saw figure of person. Cannot see his face but it was like moonlight. That person hugged me and said ” you don’t know who I am but I know who you are”. I felt very happy at that moment and left the tunnel feeling sad to leave. I had been thinking about for 2 months. After sometime, I felt It maybe Rahamatil Allamin (saw) but at same time, I felt, I don’t deserve this gifted dream. That night, I had the same dream again. Pls help and guide me. May the blessing of Rabbul Allamin (swt) n Rahamatil Allamin (saw) be upon all Muslims. Salam

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam

Insha-Allah the 2nd dream confirms what you were debating, that you did see Rahmatan li ‘l-`Alamin (`alayhi afdal as-salat was-salam). As you said, we don’t deserve such things, but our Prophet (s) is Allah’s Gifted Mercy, al-Rahmat al-muhdat, so for whatever they choose to grant us we can only be ever grateful.

Naqshbandi Mujaddi way

Question:

Salamalaikkum to our beloved Shyukuhs

Please advise us on the Naqshabandi Mujididi a right path. They have a Silsilah which changers in the middle.(28th position). How ever this Silsilah doesnt have our beloved Sulthan al Awliya MOwlana shaykh Nazims name. therefore whats the interpretation of this? is it a another sub branch of naqshabandi haqqani??

Please forgive us for our ignorance

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Naqshbandiyya-Haqqaniyya is the top of the Golden Chain but under it are many prior branches. There are literally hundreds – if not thousands – of branches of the Naqshbandiyya from the time of Mujaddid Alf ath-Thani Sayyidina Ahmad al-Sirhindi al-Faruqi, known also as Imam Rabbani. After him the Tariqah spread far and wide, and through various caliphas took on different branches. The same happened with our Grandshaykh Khalid al-Baghdadi, so you find sub-branches of the Naqshbandiyya-Khalidiyya all over the world.

See “Titles of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain” at the Naqshbandi website for further explanation.

Dream: Dream of Prophet SAW

Dream:

Assalamu’alaikum Ya Sayyidi & wishing you a healthy & wealthy life from Allah with the Baraka of Mowlana Sulthan al Awliya.

Long time ago, I had a dream, I was a figure witting under the tree with dark brown shoulder-long and wavy hair. He has long beard and look like Prophet Isa AS. However in my heart saying He is Prophet Muhammad SAW. He was dressed in a humble robe and asking for sadakah from people passing by.

Ya Sayyidi what is the interpretation of this dream?
I always concerned to tell anyone about this dream, especially on the asking for sadakah part. Im afraid Im disrespecting Prophet SAW. May Allah forgive me.

Massalama.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam

Mabruk! You did see the Prophet (s) in the form of Sayyidina ‘Isa (as) for Sayyidina Sayyidina `Isa (as) is coming in these, the Last Days of this dunya to re-establish the religion of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Seeking alms means that he comes in a time when no one is keeping the religion as it should.

Self-proclaimed lesbian friend

Question:

Assalamualaikum,

I’m a girl and have been friends with another girl for a few years now. While I have no feelings whatsoever for her, she has feelings for me. She admitted them to me and tries to get affectionate with me. I’m thankful to have her as a friend as she looks out for me, but her feelings towards me makes me VERY uncomfortable.

She has had sexual dreams of us a few times and texts me these dreams, to which I do not reply.

I have spoken to her about this before and have ignored her many times as I feel VERY uncomfortable and burdened. If she stops making moves on me, I’d have no problems being her friend.

As a Muslimah,
-am I doing wrong by ignoring a fellow sister?
-how do I rectify this problem?

Thank you so much.
May Allah bless all of you at eshaykh!

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Keep ignoring her, and stay away from her. Pray two raka`ats and ask Allah to protect you, and stay away from her.

Raffle Tickets/Entering a Draw

Question:

As salam alaykum dear shuyookh,

My workplace is selling raffle tickets ($5.00 for 1, $9.00 for 2, etc) to raise money for a charity. The prize for the draw is a flat screen TV, if your name is drawn. Would it be permissible to partake in this sort of thing?

Endless salams and thanks

Answer:

Wa `alaikumus-salam

It depends on how the monies from the tickets will be spent, and how the prize was acquired by the organisers.

If a part (or whole) of the proceeds will go into acquiring the prize for the draw then that is not allowed. Since your money will be used to acquire the prize, there is a loss factor that is unfavourable to you should there be a contest. Especially since you will write in your name on the ticket, you will be a willing and intentional participant to a lottery, which is gambling. Even if you simply write your name because people tell you to do it for the “fun” of it, or because it is part of buying the tickets, this is not allowed.

If the full proceeds from the ticket sales will only go to the charity, you may buy them for the sake of charity alone and nothing else. This means the prize is sponsored fully by the organisers or any third party with no interests at the expense of the charity (i.e. the prize is not acquired using any monies from the ticket sales or from any contribution from the charity or anyone related to it), then that is considered a gift. Should your name be picked from the draw, that would be coincidental, not intentional, you may accept the prize. But I won’t suggest you partake in that either.

See the Post “Lottery“.
