Question:
As-salam-alaikum
I was wondering if one can give sadaqa on behalf of someone as a request that they may find Islam InshAllah. I have a friend who seems that they can be Muslim, but is not. Is that possible to do? I know we can pray for guidance for them, but then I thought..why not sadaqa as well. Please let me know. JazakAllah Khair.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
Yes, you can give sadaqa on behalf of someone as a request that he may find Islam Insha-Allah.

Question:
I made 2 promises to Allah (I said in my dua,”Allah, I promise to…”). I could not live up to my promises & broke them. I have repented & asked Allah to give me a sign if he has forgiven me & I got the sign BUT I did not fast for 3 days/ free a slave/clothe ten people/ feed 10 poor people 2 meals each. I have told Allah that I will give the poor food however I haven’t been able to locate them in the country I live in; nobody back home is willing to help. I will do this when I go back home. It has been quite awhile since I broke the promises. Is there a dua to ask Allah if He is still angry? What should I do in the meanwhile? I asked something else from Allah & there’s no answer. Maybe He has not forgiven me
Answer:
As-Salamu `Alaykum,
{He is the One that accepts repentance from His Servants and forgives sins: and He knows all that ye do.} Surat ash-Shura 42:25
As you can see from the above verse from the Qur’an, Allah will forgive you if you sincerely repent. In the meantime, fast for three days if you can.

Question:
SWRWB. Please can you give us clarity on the following. What can we do on Tuesdays and what to refrain from, eg. Removing hair, travelling, lawful intimacy, business deals, appointments etc etc. We read in a Sohba years ago that MSN said that Muharram was going to be heavily loaded with burdens and more so because it fell on a Tuesday. Also that Tuesday is day of Hellfire. Mureed said not to remove hair on Tuesday. Can Muslims use balsamic vinegar or other vinegars if ingredients include alchohol or processed that way? Can we use vanilla extract or products which have vanilla extract in it .e.g yoghurt. We cannot find anyway to make V.extract ourselves withouth alchohol or find such product on market. From homemaking process we see them using drinkable alchohol e.g. Vodka, to make V.Extract. Please pray for us. With love we greet you
Answer:
As-Salamu `Alaykum,
Alcohol cannot be used in cooking. There have been studies that shows alcohol does not cook out 100%, even if you simmer for 2 hours.

Question:
Dear Shaykh, Assalamu alaykum,
Recently Maulana Shaykh Hisham, May Allah be pleased with him, said that if we ask for Paradise then ‘balaa‘ can come upon us.
I am confused. I thought that asking for Paradise was a good thing to do and I have been doing this AND I admit that I have had a very difficult and violent series of trials, especially before becoming a mureed of MSN.
What shall I ask Allah SWT for? Reward in this life and the next, instead?
Thank you and I am sorry for my lack of manners.
Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
Read Surat al-`Ankabut 29:1-6 and Surat al-Mulk daily. Make du`a assiduously for both Paradise and for protection from any trial just as the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) and Awliya taught us.

Question:
Asalaamu-alaikum.
I would like to know whether me and a group of sisters could get Shaykh Nazim’s permission to visit Istanbul, Turkey for approximately a week for ziyarah and inshallah visit Maulana Rumi’s tomb in Konya. There will be 4-5 females travelling from England.
Can I also humbly request that you make dua for me and my friends as we are currently taking our exams. Jazakallah khair, I look forward to hearing from you.
Answer:
`Alaykum salam,
Mawlana Shaykh will pray for you all, and he said there is no problem regarding your travel plans.
