Sadaqa for someone to find Islam?

Question:

As-salam-alaikum

I was wondering if one can give sadaqa on behalf of someone as a request that they may find Islam InshAllah. I have a friend who seems that they can be Muslim, but is not. Is that possible to do? I know we can pray for guidance for them, but then I thought..why not sadaqa as well. Please let me know. JazakAllah Khair.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Yes, you can give sadaqa on behalf of someone as a request that he may find Islam Insha-Allah.

Broken Promise

Question:

I made 2 promises to Allah (I said in my dua,”Allah, I promise to…”). I could not live up to my promises & broke them. I have repented & asked Allah to give me a sign if he has forgiven me & I got the sign BUT I did not fast for 3 days/ free a slave/clothe ten people/ feed 10 poor people 2 meals each. I have told Allah that I will give the poor food however I haven’t been able to locate them in the country I live in; nobody back home is willing to help. I will do this when I go back home. It has been quite awhile since I broke the promises. Is there a dua to ask Allah if He is still angry? What should I do in the meanwhile? I asked something else from Allah & there’s no answer. Maybe He has not forgiven me

Answer:

As-Salamu `Alaykum,

{He is the One that accepts repentance from His Servants and forgives sins: and He knows all that ye do.} Surat ash-Shura 42:25

As you can see from the above verse from the Qur’an, Allah will forgive you if you sincerely repent. In the meantime, fast for three days if you can.

Balsamic vinegar/vinegar, Tuesdays, Vanilla extract

Question:

SWRWB. Please can you give us clarity on the following. What can we do on Tuesdays and what to refrain from, eg. Removing hair, travelling, lawful intimacy, business deals, appointments etc etc. We read in a Sohba years ago that MSN said that Muharram was going to be heavily loaded with burdens and more so because it fell on a Tuesday. Also that Tuesday is day of Hellfire. Mureed said not to remove hair on Tuesday. Can Muslims use balsamic vinegar or other vinegars if ingredients include alchohol or processed that way? Can we use vanilla extract or products which have vanilla extract in it .e.g yoghurt. We cannot find anyway to make V.extract ourselves withouth alchohol or find such product on market. From homemaking process we see them using drinkable alchohol e.g. Vodka, to make V.Extract. Please pray for us. With love we greet you

Answer:

As-Salamu `Alaykum,

Alcohol cannot be used in cooking. There have been studies that shows alcohol does not cook out 100%, even if you simmer for 2 hours.

However vinegar in general can be used.

Dream: Pineapple Tree

Question:

Salamu Alaykum

I recently got married about 2 months ago and I had a dream just the other night that I was at my parents’ house and there was this beautiful very tall pineaple tree. It was amazing mashallah. For some reason I asked this tree an Islamic qusestion and it replied to me by reading one of the ayaat from the Quran… but I can’t remember what was the question nor do I recognize the ayaa the tree was reading…
When the tree stopped reading Quran it rolled down to me pineaple. It was like the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It smelt soo delicous.and then my mother came and spoke to tree and it also read Quran and gave my mother 10 pineaples and my mother put them in a big bag and said that these are mine to keep forever.

meaning please?

jazak allah khayran

Answer:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Insha-Allah you and your mother will taste and experience the sweetness of iman and heavenly knowledge.  The tree giving her ten pineapples shows the importance of motherhood.  Now that you are married and beginning the next phase of your life, you will begin to appreciate even more your mother’s care for you over the years.

The Spiritual Power of Sayyidina `Ali (a.s.)

Question:

Assalamu wa aleykum,
For Shaykh Hisham or Shaykh Gibril Haddad:
Please wish me answer that question, according to the text in Kabbani, Mercy Oceans Shore of Safety, pp.86-87
I read the book, I published the source on my blog and all that translate to my language, just that people ask for explanations, as this is possible and that only Allah can have this power. I ask that Allah can provide capabilities beyond belief to His servants, but even so it does not satisfy them and call again asking for more explanations. This fact could explain me of Ali have gone into space and who were these enemy aliens? This happened on the plane or where we live has to do with the plan to do with the geniuses. Would like an explanation in detail about it,
Allah Hafiz

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Allah (swt) does not wait for permission from anyone to give power to anyone He likes. Did you see the 3000 mala’ika murdifin and the 5000 musawwimin mentioned in Holy Qur’an or what Prophet (s) saw at Qaba qawsayn, and his vision of the Khulafa Rashidin in Paradise and Sayyidina Bilal, beyond this universe? So it is easier for this universe where it is physical. We have to believe in existence of jinn yet we do not see them. We also believe the Door to the City of Knowledge – Sayyidina Ali, Allah be well pleased with him – has at least that power or more, not just power in this dunya as he showed in Badr or Khaybar, for example.

Awliya do not take their knowledge from you or your books. Their hearts are connected and you have no choice but submission, or it is up to you. They are not answerable to you. And Allah knows best.

Asking for Paradise???

Question:

Dear Shaykh, Assalamu alaykum,

Recently Maulana Shaykh Hisham, May Allah be pleased with him, said that if we ask for Paradise then ‘balaa‘ can come upon us.

I am confused. I thought that asking for Paradise was a good thing to do and I have been doing this AND I admit that I have had a very difficult and violent series of trials, especially before becoming a mureed of MSN.

What shall I ask Allah SWT for? Reward in this life and the next, instead?

Thank you and I am sorry for my lack of manners.

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Read Surat al-`Ankabut 29:1-6 and Surat al-Mulk daily. Make du`a assiduously for both Paradise and for protection from any trial just as the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) and Awliya taught us.

Can I also humbly request that you make dua for me and my friends as we are currently taking our exams. Jazakallah khair, I look forward to hearing from you.

Answer:

`Alaykum salam,
Mawlana Shaykh will pray for you all, and he said there is no problem regarding your travel plans.
