Riyad-us-Saliheen

Question:

Asalaamlikum Shaykh.

Sorry for my lack of understanding & Adab, I’m a weak person. I recently got sent books (Riyad-us-Saliheen) from Pakistan from my Aunty, I just wanted to know are these English versions commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf and complied by Al-Imam Abu Zakariya Yahya Bln Sharaf An-Nawawi Ad-Dimashqi, genuine copies and not be tampered with Salafi doctrine? If so which version should I get? And which books are good for Hanafi fiqh?

Advice me Shaykh. May Allah bless you all endlessly.

Walikum Asalaam

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
Amin, and you also.

Dream: marriage with father

Dream:

For a few years I have a recurring dream where I am getting married to my father or the situation is such that I am married to him. I have even seen myself as being married to my brother. These dreams started in 2008 after I was separated from my husband and continued after his subsequent death. I do not have contact with my family because they opposed my marriage as my husband was son of my murshid of qadiriya naqshbandiya razaqiya tariqa and my family is wahhabi. What is the meaning of this dream?

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Keep your `aqida and belief, but try to slowly build back bridges with your family.  Do not argue or discuss Ahl as-sunnah vs. wahhabi ideology. Recite daily: 100 times hasbunAllahu wa n`iam al- wakeel and hasbunAllah RabbunAllah 100 times to make things easier insha-Allah.

Dream: Dreamt of Prophet Muhammed (SAW)

Dream:

Assalamu Alaikum,

I had a dream, I am standing in a kitchen which is pure white, and I am wearing a white long dress like a thobe. I am chopping something, and there was a man next to me who is tall and also wearing a thobe, another man (wearing a white thobe) came in and requested to see Prophet Muhammed (SAW). The man next to me answered, “he is busy and will be out in awhile”, and then again the other man said, “I came to see Prophet Muhammed SAW”. While this was going on I am just observing the scene and just kept on chopping….

Thank you in Advance for the Interpretation.

Jazakallah

Interpretation:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

The dream shows you in the kitchen as one of the People of the House, in service of the Prophet (s).  Keep your love and service to the Prophet (s) and his Family, insha-Allah you will see more.  Wa’Allahu a`lam.

Prayer Request: Yearning to meet MSN

Request:

Salaam all at eShaykh and blessed Shaykh Nazim.

I took baya online about a month ago, and I try my best to do daily awrad wazaaif and optionals. I have a strong desire in my heart to meet MSN as I feel like I am missing out on something and really want to see him. I have heard through eShaykh that MSN may be going on Hajj this year and then going to an unknown place – is this true? This has made me want to meet Shaykh even more, but it is hard for me because I am only 19, my family are not on tariqah and I don’t live with my husband yet.

Please do dua that I may visit Shaykh Nazim ASAP and/or see him in my dreams. Is there anything I can recite so I can see Shaykh?

Thank you for this wonderful resource, Allah bless you.

Response:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

Congratulations on your baya` and desire to see Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. Try to watch Mawlana’s suhbas online (sufilive.com) and continue your daily practices to nourish your spiritual connection. Since it is difficult to travel to Cyprus, you may also try to see Mawlana Shaykh Hisham during one of his many travels around the world in the service of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order. Do not worry- everything will happen at the right time and place according to the decree of Allah Most High.

Solat in prison cell with toilet seat

Question:

Salaamu alaykum wr wb. Bismillahi Rahmaani Rahiim.

What is the ruling of doing solat in prison cell that has a toilet seat or hole in the same room? If you’re locked up in the cell during the prescribed times and/or cannot perform solat anywhere else. Jazaakumullahu khayr.

Answer:

Wa `alaykum salam,

Bismillahi-r Rahmani-r Rahim

As long as you have enough space that is free from najasa (filth) to make sujood, it is acceptable. If that is not possible, you can place a thick cloth/blanket on the floor and pray on it. If this is not possible , you can pray sitting down on the bed or chair.

Rape case

Question:

salaam What are the four schools of thoughts views on rape cases, especially that a female needs four male witnesses to prove a case. Can modern technology be used now? Also is there a website or a book where I could read more about this subject..thank you

Answer:

Salam alaykum,

Wa’il ibn Hijr al-Kindi narrated that a woman went out in the time of the Prophet — Allah bless and greet him — to go to prayer, and a man who met her attacked her and got his desire of her. She shouted and he went off. Another man passed by and she said: “That man did such-and-such to me.” Then she met a company of the Muhajirun [Muslims who had moved from Mecca to Madina] and said: “That man [#2] did such-and-such to me.”  They went off and seized the [second] man she believed had raped her and brought
him to her, whereupon she said: “Yes, that is him.” They brought him to Allah’s Messenger. When the latter ordered that the man be stoned,* the first man — the one who had raped her —  came forward and said: “O Messenger of Allah, I am the one who was with her.” The Prophet then said to the woman: “You are free to go away, for Allah has forgiven you,” then he placated the man [Abu Dawud said: “meaning the one who had been
seized”]. As for the man who had raped her, he said: “Stone him to death.”** Then he added: “He [the culprit] has repented with a kind of repentence that, if the people of Madina [or: of a city] were to offer it, it would be accepted from them.”***

*Meaning: after due course of investigation, interrogation, cross-examination etc. on his part (Fath al-Wadud).
** His name was Ma`iz ibn Malik. (`Awn al-Ma`bud)
*** Meaning: if this kind of repentence existed in any city, it would benefit the entire people of that city. (al-Qari)

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (hasan gharib sahih) and Abu Dawud. Ahmad narrates a slightly different version.

The above report shows that circumstancial evidence, namely the woman’s accusation on the spot, was enough to initiate the legal process. Yes, today DNA analysis and other modern methods may be used.

For further reading see “The Islamic Law of Evidence”  by Dr. Anwarullah.

May Allah Most High make all things easy for you. If He likes He makes every uphill battle a downward slope. Seven times salawat is the minimum and up to 70. The way to speed up help is to be cheerful and keep faith and trust in Allah. Holy Prophet upon him blessing and peace said in his hadith: “Do not complain why why why when making du`a.

Prayer Request: convicted for crime

Request:

a’salaamu alikum,
A friend of mine has been convicted for four years for money laundering. I don’t know if he was involved in this or not. I don’t want to question or judge him based on a mistake he may have made in the past. I am sure that the person he is today, he wouldn’t do this. I have found him to be an honourable and compassionate man who wouldn’t want to see anybody hurt.
He has submitted an appeal against the conviction. Could you please pray for his conviction to be over-turned, for Allah (swt) to forgive him for any sins he may have commited. I believe Allah (swt) does everything for our best. Please pray that the good intended for him comes to him without him suffering or being locked away.

He has also requested for wazifahs to read?? If you could please advise

jazakAllah

Response:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you and your friend. Let him resolve to give sadaqa every day for four years and recite the intercessory du`a of Mawlana Shaykh `Abd Allah al-Daghistani (Allah sanctify his soul) each day:

Marriage with a Shia

Question:

salam
I am an Indian Muslim belongs to a Wahabi family. I want to marry a Shia girl. I want to ask that is it necessary to convert her into Sunnism, as I see no difference between Shia and Sunni. Both believe in Allah, Prophet Mohammad, Holy Quran and practice five times salah also. They have only some political differences over khilafat only. So please tell me that is our shariah allow us to marry inter-sect with Shias or not and if not then why is it so. Also refer me hadiths in this regard
So please help me in this regard.
thanking you

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,
The Shari`ah permits a man to marry a Jewish or Christian woman, so it certainly permits to marry a non-Sunni Muslim woman. It only recommends or rather requires that that man have strong iman, otherwise his religion will be in danger. You should take bay`a with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim if you have not already done so, and do the beginner’s wazifa for  six months as it will be more helpful for you than six years of hadith studies, and Allah  knows best. Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said: “Deen (religion) consists entirely in Nasiha.”
