Dream: Wet Roti

Dream:

Auzobillahi Minushaytaanir Rajeem ……… Bismillahir Rehmanir Raheem

Assalam o Alaikum wa rehmatullahi wa baratuhu from me and my mother,

Ya Sayyidi, I am writing this question regarding a dream of my mother who is also a mureed of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim(q). She saw herself and my father and two maids in the house eating together on the table mat, and it starts to rain. The rain gets stronger and mom said to one of the maid to take the roti (bread) or it will be wet.. but it was already wet… and the maid takes the roti underneath the wet roti. The roti she took is dry and she passes the roti box to my mom, and my mom is left with wet roti.

My mother often sees herself with her deceased father, hugging him or being with him. Once she saw him by the riverside and he puts his hand in water, takes out a fish and gives to my mother.

what do these dreams mean?

Interpretation:

wa alayum salam,

Rain represents mercy, roti in Arabic is `aysh, which means “way of living”. So this indicates your mother’s life will undergo transformation receiving more mercy. And that is due to a renewed connection with the spiritual dimension, represented by the wet roti, as opposed to the dry roti, which refers to the obligations and conditions of the din, which had been more of a focus before.

Seeing her deceased father hugging her means he is in a good spiritual state in the afterlife and passing spiritual secrets to her. Handing her a fish means her provision is being blessed by Allah.

How to develop self control on eating?

Question:

Dearest Shaykh, Assalamu alaykum,

Wishing you well from the bottom of my heart. Please could you tell me what to recite etc as I wish to be free of being like an animal.

I like tasty food very much since childhood, but I also take anti-psychotic medication (without which I can’t survive my manic depression, I feel) which makes me feel very hungry and I do not feel satisfaction from eating unless I overeat. I fear Allah, but not enough, I would say, regarding becoming ill from overeating and wish to gain control over my overeating. Please could I ask you humbly to advise this poor, female, wretched animal-like mureed, who should feel even more ashamed of not having more self-control? Thank you.

Answer:

The cure for eating too much is to develop three traits: to listen, to look and to think:

1) learn to listen to your heart and your conscience. They will send signals when to stop.

2) look at how much you have already eaten,

3) consider what will happen if you eat more… according to the hadith, “we are a people who do not eat until we are hungry and when we eat we don’t eat our fill.”

All this will be developed by learning to do rabitah, connection with your Shaykh insha-Allah. See How to Make Rabitah.

Recite 100x before each meal laa hawla wa laa quwatta illa billah il-`aliyyi’l-`azheem.

Before eating read the Du`a of eating, the invocation for eating of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim.

Be sure to consult with your personal physician in any form of dieting or food reduction.

What happens to the soul immediately after death?

Question:

Salaamu Aleykum our beloved Tariqah family members

Can you please tell me exactly what happens to the soul at the point of death and it’s journey thereafter. Where does it go before Janazah, and then what happens, assuming the soul is part of Naqshbandi Tariqah, under the wing of our beloved Mawlana Sheikh Nazim (May Allah SWT give him a long healthy life – Ameen). Where does the soul reside up until the Day of Judgement?

Jazakallah Khair

Answer:

Alaykum as salam,
Everything that you ask is described in detail in Ibn al-Qayyim’s book Kitab al-Ruh translated and published as ‘The Soul’s Journey after Death.’ As for Murids of Mawlana the we believe that we will benefit from his intercession as described in the Hadith that the Awliya shall intercede for whom they wish among the Umma. May Allah ease for us the
pangs of death and resurrect us among the righteous.

pious souls visit this world

Question:

Salaamu Aleykum – May Allah Bless you all

Can pious souls visit this world and their families?

Answer:

`Alaykum as salam,

Yes, Ibn Abi al-Dunya in al-Qubur and Ibn Abd al-Barr in al-Istidhkar related from Imam Malik (Allah have mercy on all of them and our teachers and the Umma) that he said: “It has reached me that the souls of the pious roam free wheresoever they wish.”

Should I leave him?

Question:

Dearest Shaykh, Assalamu alaykum,

I am a virgin looking on marriage websites for a suitable marriage partner. Currently, I am communicating with a man overseas. I like many things about him and feel that we may well be compatible as far as I can see, but he has asked me for my full name and my mother’s name as he wishes to do ‘istekhara‘ he said.

I know from my own bad experiences with black magic in my country that black magicians also use the mother’s name to do black magic on a person and that one should not ever give one’s full name and one’s mother’s name to anyone, so I did not give him what he asked for.

I like everything about this brother; he is religious. But he is married to a woman with whom he has ‘no physical or mental relationship’ he says and he says he does not have the money to divorce her.

He would like to leave his corrupt country and live in The West or in The Middle East.

I am not good at doing ‘istekhara‘ and wonder if I should forget this guy and look closer to home for someone. However, I have been looking for someone for 22 years and this man seems sweet, loving, intelligent etc. I do not know what to do? Plus, I do not have the financial means to ‘import’ him into my Western country and my father will not help me financially or in any other way.

My connection with Maulana does not seem strong as I am not a very good mureed in terms of discipline and dedication, even though I do try, I feel.

Please can you say something to help me decide about this man?

Gratefully Yours, A Perplexed and Inexperienced Young Woman.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Your heart is giving you the warnings too many “fishy” things with this man. Be careful, marriage is not like buying shoes. You cannot even buy shoes online and get a good pair, they will be too big, too small, tight, wrong color, etc. So be careful.

Turkish: Nasıl Rabbani Olunur?

Question: (soru)

Esselamu aleykum;

Önce bir tashih düzeltme uyarım olacak. Sonra da bir sorum var:

DUZELTME TALEBi : Şeyh M. Nazım el-Hakkani hz.nin 20 Ekim 2010 günkü sohbetinin sufilive.com ve haqqanisoul.com sitelerindeki yazılı metninde büyük bir hata yapılmıştır. Şeyh M. Nazım el-Hakkani hz.nin söyledikleri eksik ve yanlış yazılmıştır.

Şeyh M. Nazım el-Hakkani hz.nin söylemediği halde “müslümanım dmeyin” diye bir söz söylemiş gibi tercume veriliyor. Halbuki Şeyh M. Nazım el-Hakkani hz.nin söylediği şey şudur: Size kimsinzi diye sorana deyin ki: Ben Rabbani bir MUSLUMANIM ( orginally :” I’m a muslim-rabbani.”

What do we need to do to become a Rabbani? And what can someone who couldn’t take baya do if he wants to improve spiritually?

Answer: (cevab)

Translation:

To become Rabbani means to put in practice what we learned. The most effective way to do this is to observe and spend time with someone who is already in that state. Such a person can say to a thing “be!” and it will be. They are rarer than pink diamonds.

If you dont’ have baya` you may do common practices to uplift yourself spiritually. Praying nawafil, observing more aspects of the sunnah,  helping those in need, caring for those in difficulty, calling for what is right, and forbidding what is wrong, making constant dhikr of Allah, reading Quran, reading the life story of our Beloved Prophet (s), and so on.
