Question:
I have one question for bones from either chicken or meat: If we live in a house where the trash pick-up is only once a week, is it OK to burn the chicken bones?
Shukran
Answer:
Burning animal bones is permitted if there is need, since it is done in agricultural practices to prepare traditional fertilizers or electuaries which are fed to animals.

Question:
Assalamou alaykoum Shaykh
We join the fard prayers after it started, lets say at the second rakaates, when the Imam gives salam we stand up to complete what we are missing. Do I read the thanaa before Alhamdolillah? Now there is a rule to read from bigger to smaller verses so does that rule apply if we don’t know what number of surah the Iman has recited to recite one which is a smaller surah?
Answer:
When you join the fard prayer after it started, for example at the second raka`at, to you it is still your first raka`at, so you follow the normal etiquette of making your reading slightly longer than in the following one. You need only start with A`udhu billah... without the entire opening du`a.

Answer:
wa alaykum salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh,
Alhamdulillah That he are praying on the roof and you will be rewarded more and more as the Prophet said there come a time when the one holding his deen will be like someone holding a coal of fire. Although you don’t find masjid where you are praying is considered a masjid.
To answer your question, you pray your prayer and go and she prays and she goes. Don’t try to make any contact with her. A most if you want to make salaam put your head down and say salaam and leave because you don’t know when Shaytan is ready to throw his traps to catch you, so say salaams and keep going.

Question:
What should I do about going to church? I am married to a Christian. She has a lot of family here and I end up going to a lot of their weddings etc. The first half of a wedding is at a church. I was wondering what I should do in this regard?
Answer:
Church weddings on the whole are part of a larger social event despite their religious appearance. Insha Allah there is no harm to one’s faith in attending them relying on Allah, provided one does so out of family obligation together with the intention of inviting to Islam, avoiding drinking and offensive talk and mixing. The Prophet — Allah bless and greet him! — is our example, and he entered non-Muslim places of worship for the purpose of inviting others to truth.
Perhaps the real issue is the broader outlook of the couple, since we Muslims view Religion as life: how shall we raise our children, how should we live and die?
It seems to me that the husband must resolve to be the worthier examplar of the couple so as to lead and have a positive effect through his manners and discourse. That is one of the meanings of the man’s responsibility of his family. “O ye who believe, ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire…” (66:6). Going or not going here and there is not nearly as important. Allah knows best.

Question:
[Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baaz, late Grand-Mufti of Saudia Arabia stated] “In the authentic Hadith, it is reported that the Prophet – peace be unto him-said: ‘(On the Day of Judgment, I assume the defence of some men by saying: “0 Lord, (but they are) my companions, my companions”. Then I will be told, “Verily, you do not know what heresy they brought about after your death.” Then I will say as the virtuous man said “And I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things’).”‘”
Answer:
In the authentic hadith it is also stated that the Prophet — Allah bless and greet him — said: “[After my death] Your deeds will continue to be shown to me, whatever good I see, I shall praise Allah for it, and if I see otherwise, I shall ask forgiveness for you.” As stated above, there are rules for the explanation of apparently conflicting texts, and these rules are followed by Ahl al-Sunnah to reach different conclusions that those that we keep hearing from the above source, and Allah knows best.

Question:
Please explain the specific case of stock market in more detail.
I had a solution in my mind regarding bank accounts, I am going to share with you. Since p.l.s accounts give us the interest with a fixed rate, they are categorized haram by some Ulema. (Although people argue that since currency value decreases by time, so it is not haram specially in an unstable country like Pakistan) and current account keeps your money but they deduct money in terms of charges.
So, won’t it be better that a man keeps his money without any decrease or increase. He takes bank statements at some intervals calculates the charges deductions and balance, withdraws surplus money (profit) divides it among needy.
Is it possible? Or despite doing all this he will be among those dealing with ‘Ribaa (interest)’?
Answer:
Fixed-rate or otherwise, interest is haram. Distributing the money among the needy is not sadaqa of any kind but only getting rid of riba, which needs to be done.
